Wow...how unmotivated is Pete in this? It's funny...I saw them on this tour at the Capital Centre (Sept. 23, 1982). It was the second concert of that tour and I remember it being incredible and very energetic. Of course, I was only 16 at the time and any big concert, I'm sure, was great. You don't pick up on these things (his unmotivation) at the time of the concert when you're young. You just loved being there! But looking at the footage of this concert now, he seemed totally over it.
the music these days is unbeileveably terrible. i cannot beileve the people these days can listen to lady gaga and still live. rock is dying and we know it. we still have great bands out there like bon jovi and green day (sorta) still making music videos ,coming out with amazing albums, and showin that rock is still alive. as the famous words of pete townshed wrote in his famous song
@EuchridEucrow1 He clearly mentioned NEW bands like Bon Jovi and Green Day, so YOU might want to pull YOUR head out of your ass and learn to read more carefully, illeterate asshole.
The Pistols declared rock dead in about '77. Damn punks didn't have the power to declare ANYTHING dead! I saw them go down in flames at Winterland, THEY died that night! And now they are just a footnote in music history. Bunch of no talent, drunken, tone deaf sociopaths they were! Hahahahahaha! And look WHO is still making music, selling albums, and packing them in at every show they play! Yeah that's right, you know WHO!
I agree, HeyRadialMoon. Punk celebrated dirty instead of clean, ugly instead of beautiful, inneptitude instead of accomplishment. They complained about Steely Dan and Yes while they walked around wearing garbage bags and slept under bridges.
This is when I first became aware of the Who, via MTV, so I my affection for this era is the closest thing I allow myself for nostalgia. 1982 Farewell Tour. Personally, I was glad they came back as often as they did so I'd get a chance to see them!

Yep, because Lady Gaga is the only musician left. That's it! Just her.
There are actually some fantastic indi acts around, which you might enjoy if you pulled your head out of your ass, friend.

I agree. So they cleaned up a bit, they're still The Who. (In fact, cleaning up probably made them healthier especially Pete.)
Yeah, Keith Moon is a far better drummer than Kenny Jones, but Jones isn't awful.
Point = The Who rocks no matter what decade you look at, end of story!

It's just too clean ! i lovee The Who now and before when it was just extreme ! Not the kenney jones era ! RIP KEITH AND JOHN !

Between those cut-off t-shirts and Kenny Jones' straight playing, it doesn't feel like The Who

john plays this song pretty straight compared to most live performances... although theres prob some intricate stuff i can hear over youtube...
