  • Real music baby!!!

  • That i don't want to get caught up in any of that funky shit going down in the city...A local radio station ( KZ106) in chattanooga plays this version....I love it when a station says fuck you to the FCC & gets away with it...

  • I shave my balls to this song every Wednesday

  • Why cut out the beginning? Then it's not uncut if the beginning is not included.

  • @kd4adv It is uncut. The track before it is called Threshold, and on the album you can actually see the transition groove between the two. The whole first side rocks. A few songs on the B side are okay--Jungle Love, The Stake, and my fav, Babes in the Woods because it just has such a Northwest sound to it. We love our boy!!!

  • ^^^^^^anyone else notice the horse penis on the picture of the album?^^^^^

  • @brady1574 looks like a gelding.

  • I perfer this ,to the single version

  • the rythem guitar intro will always remind me of the san diegos del mar fair in 1977 b100 was doing a moble there and the were playing the inro on a pair of jbl l300 speakers I was in awe and save up ALL my money for 2 years to buy a brand new pair now they sell for more than they cost back then!!

  • 5 people have to ride on jet airliners instead of flyin' like an eagle

  • long intro ftw... gets you right into it.

  • I hate censored songs, Pink Floyd Bull#@#t, Steve Miller Shit to Kicks in the city, etc etc... FM went to PCM.....

  • The Beginning Is Chronic Love The Into

  • 4 people payed extra bag fees.

  • This Song Makes Me Happy And Sad At Same Time LOl

  • WHY IS VICTORIOUS IN THE SUGGESTIONS BOX?!

  • Paul Pena!!!

  • Hey it says uncut but it sounded cut to me, still liked it though.

  • sweet

  • is there a version with this long intro that also has threshold?

  • @jjw70455 you might have already found it but watch?v=MGQwT6VVlBE&feature=related

  • boogie woogie!

  • Actually, the intro is the best part of the song really

  • @ashleyhockenberry agreed! it's a riff that just makes you happy no matter what your mood may be. Simple, yet fun at the same time.

  • @ashleyhockenberry Ya big time! Its brutal how the radio chops up these songs! When artist make songs they intend for the whole thing to be experienced. Cutting certain parts really does take away a lot of the song. Great build up and riff to this gem!

  • @ashleyhockenberry suckin dick is the best thing about you

  • @joemangg There is no best thing about you, retard.

  • somebody please post "Babes In The Woods".

  • This is the album version of the song. The cut version is from the single edit. The single edit had better-produced Steve Miller vocals. On the album version, you can hear Miller breathing into the microphone as he begins singing a line. His breathing was mixed out of the single release. Nonetheless, this version is the best.

  • @peachpuma13 And thanks to you I now notice it -__-

  • Man does this ever have a PULSE!! Takes you up into the clouds.

  • This is the right one. Alright man! all d way!

  • reminds me of my days in the navy, runnin around the world sayin my good-byes and such...

  • Three people got caught up in that funky sh*t goin' down in the city.

  • for all of you that are looking for the one with the long beginning, its under threshold/jet airliner!

  • fond memories of listening to this song while flying over cubian air space at 2 AM..ha ha....they never knew we were there!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't believe how many other posts use the short (edited) version and have the nerve to call it Jet Airliner! BLASPHEMY! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS ONE !!

  • Uncut????? It's hacked... Left off the very beginning. Is that how the CD was produced? Check out the LP then...

  • big ole jet airliner!!

    love my steve 2

    in a professional band !!

  • The extended beginning was not released on the original Book of Dreams album. It was from the SMB Greatest Hits Album. Back in the day, all the radio stations played the "Greatest Hits" version

  • If you don't love this song your either Brain Dead or a Communist !

  • Makes me think of the ending to American Graffiti. If you've seen the movie then you should get why.

  • was listening to jungle love today ... i cant find a decent video of it here. if anyone out there knows where ... please send it my way . thank you

  • love steve miller ... '' you got to go through hell before you get to heaven ... '' aint that the f ... n truth

  • my wife busted my vinyl version, when i hinted at a breakup! (kidding)

  • I'm so glad my local Rock station plays this version, plus the intro! :D

  • The Steve Miller Band A Band That Represents And Maintains

  • 2 people need to get on a big ol jet airliner and leave

  • illuminati band

  • 2 people dont like the steve miller band

  • I remember my my dad was there to meet me at the airport

  • still in the box

  • i'm so sick of traveling, so glad to be hooooome. detroit. yeah. florida's nice, but it's not the D.

  • my dad was there at the airport for me, that is special,

  • I like this version, but it doesn't approach the original by Paul Pena. Paul's original version is so, so bluesy!!

  • @Teachering You are correct about Pena version. I heard it a couple weeks ago on Elwood's House of Blues Break on the radio.....very cool.

  • Listen To Goin To The Country Its An Awesome Early Tune By Steve (1970)

  • Most definitely cut, the intro's not there

  • Sometimes You Gotta Go Threw Hell Before You Get To Heaven

  • @babyimawantyou uh, always.

  • I effing love this song. Great pick me up.

  • Definitely the best I heard on yt so far......

  • Nice.....

  • ENC0:00RE! ONE M0:00RE TIME!

  • Love this song! Soo good

  • A little trivia for those applauding Steve Miller Band's writing ability; they did not write this song. Paul Pena wrote this song and they heard a bootleg and loved it so much they paid Pena royalties for the right to use it. Check out the following link to hear the original

Search for the following on youtube: Paul Pena - Jet Airliner (The Original)

  • Do NOT call this the "uncut" version, it is missing the intro....

  • The intro (Threshold) to this song is just as important as the (Space) intro to Fly Like An Eagle. Too bad you were unable to include it. Oh well, at least Youtube didn't edit it (yet).

  • YEE LYKE THE "FUNKY STUFF" VERSON. THE S WERD IS SO NASTY I THINK IT SHUD BE CENSORED IRL TOO LIKE NEVER SAY IT EVER FORRRR-EEEE-VER (SANDLOT) NEWAYZ THIS SONG IS MAD CHILL I WISH I WAS LIKE STEVE MILLER AND WROTE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I learned out how to loop Youtube videos just because of this song.

  • stevie strumming on his strat

  • My favorite part, "Big ole Jet airliner, carry me to my home, oh oh oh big ole jet airliner 'cause it's there that I belong" and then the guitar after that is so awesome.

  • Who cares what you think, my dad was there to pick me up at the airport when I came back home. had tears in my eyes. God rest Dad, I love him.

  • big ole jet airliner!

  • I could listen to this intro all day long... almost like more than the rest of the song... lol.

  • 2 people are TSA workers

  • I think this is the song that legendary top-40 DJ Don Geronimo talked about re. the intro. From the first few seconds, hearing it the first time, he knew this was a huge hit. I can imagine him playing the full album intro of 1:02 and talking up this record using all of it. No one does it better.

  • Two people are scared of flying

  • anyone know what amps these guys used?

  • The original version is better. Paul Pena, RIP!

  • guauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu up rock and roll !!!!

  • i heard this song on the radio and i quickly fell in luv wit it woooooo :P

  • 2 people should crash in a big 'ol jet airliner.

  • Awesome song!!!They played this at the blue angles air show i thought it fit. :D

  • 2 People missed the flight

  • @ajjrfan Make that they didn't make it through the metal detector.

  • @Celiecinema1 Speaking of not making it thru the metal detectors, it must really suck to be the person in line thats got like a metal rod in their leg cuz of an operation cuz its just that much more of a hassle explaining why the thing keeps beeping when they walk through

  • @Onionbreathe I So Agree

  • @Onionbreathe The intro riff is a rip off of Crossroads (the Cream version)

  • 2 people aren't flying the big ol' jet airliner

  • @fartinthewind13 fuugem!!!whoooo!!!! I love this song!!!!

  • Feel the heat comin' down......And I'm goin' with some hesitation..you know that I can surely see...that I don't want to get caught up in any of that funky shit going down in the city.

  • Great Beginning!

  • Really love the uncut version of this song. The rhythm chord progression in the beginning is really, really sweet.

  • @sparkie119 definitely a cool riff! radio cuts it out D:

  • What a tune.. 'Cos I don't want to get caught up in any of that, funky shit going down in the city' great lyrics whatever the reason.

  • man every version of this on youtube i see has left out the VERY beginning which is my fav part

  • @wintersnowboard I wish I could connect the two, sorry.

  • @wintersnowboard /watch?v=L2jGz4YZTbQ&NR=1&feature=fvwp

  • @wintersnowboard . I know. And every radio station that plays it does the short version. The beginning is the best part. I wonder why they do that?

  • @wintersnowboard Yeah, the begining is caled "Threshold". They have that here on youtube. I've found it.

  • Absolute classic, one of the best from the 70s

  • The best part if from 0:01 to 4:31

  • Dear Youtube: thank you for including a clip where Steve Miller cusses. I've heard many that actually "bleep" the word "shit". The classic kick-ass line is harmless: I don't want to get caught up in any of that funky shit going down in the city.

  • im so pist i can't find the uncut version anywhere

  • Comment removed

  • WHat year was this released ?

  • @rycon246 1977

  • It's that clean, clear, uncluttered, resonating tone that only a Fender Stratocaster and Mr Steve Miller can deliver!! The first :45 sec are unparalleled IMO.
