Pretty cool I have seen a little better impersonators, to Howfararewenow Not everybody spends their entire life just being impersonators. I am an entertainer, and I do have other jobs, hobbies and loves. I don't get lost "being somebody else" I love being me, however, I do make a lot of extra tips when I impersonate others (the audience enjoys a good laugh, especially since I am a woman) lol
the guy next to her he looks like that nidget short mid age guy the dude from the 1970s where he has a phone hiden under his shoe and hides in public phone booths to investigate midget roberrys.. and the old granny outside the back studio she looks like Lisi from prisoner 1979.
Look at this realistically, and this goes for all of the other guys who do this. You have 1 shot at this life and to spend it being someone else or emulating someone to keep their memory alive has to be heart wrenching in the end. Maybe there's a point when you wake up when your 75 and realize you wasted your life because (realistically) you'll be remembered by the people in your audiences as the "Guy who looked and sang like Elvis". Maybe it's what he wants to do but I say be the best YOU !
You can just see the difference between Bill Cherry and Elvis. Bill Cherry is much more articulate and sophisticated. While Elvis stumbled and acted like he was a unschooled teenager who never quite grew up.
Elvis didn't sit around with a crooked lip. He smiled that way and he did it on both sides. It wasn't always on the same side. Not just in pictures that were reversed but on film.
I know everyone thinking his crooking lips on the wrong side but to be honest wouldnt it be correct being from the perspective of the camera its flipped
saw bill cherry perform in keshena wisconsin, GREAT showman, from what i saw and heard, there was nothing that told me he shouldnt have WON the ultimate elvis tribute artist 2009 in memphis. he was right on the money with the voice the moves, manerisms, very much an illusion of elvis as shawn klush is in concert. and he looks more like him up close, BOTH are FANTASTIC at what they do. keep up the good work bill, and congrdaulations my friend, TOM. LOL

I've played thousands of gigs in my time and have landed maybe 10 from competitions. Maybe you are booking from competitions but you're in the minority because most of the gigs I've ever known guys to get are from agencies and word of mouth. The problem is the business is too saturated. It's a waste for these guys to spend the money, hotels etc. on something that is already rigged before they even show up. Save your money and network on your own is my advice, it's worked for me for a long time.
Perhaps it works for you, but there is no better way for an up and coming ETA to get noticed, to gain fans, meet contacts and other ETA's than at a contest. Many of them pay for lodging these days as well to off set the cost. I have never hired an ETA thru an agency. I have worked with 100's of ETA's havent found a single one that think they are Elvis. As far as it being a brotherhood, it most definitely is and if you have yet to experience that u r in the wrong circle.
I am with you, hotsiluvin..my ETA husband and I have a blast at these contests, and get a lot of work from attending them, whether he wins or not! Love it!
And as far as the "Tribute Artist" vs. "Impersonator" argument...somewhere, somehow Impersonators started this thing like the public wouldn;t think they were impersonating him. WHATEVER ! I've been in this business for 16 years and I label myself an Elvis Entertainer because that's what I am, an entertainer. I never understood the whole "tribute artist" movement. Also too, if your in the business, stay away from competitions and stay independant...best advice you'll ever get.
Competitions get your name out there and its a way to have the fans see you. The results arent what matter. I hire many, many ETA's and where do I get to see them? Contests. I implore ETA's to do contests for that reason...many agents and producers go to them to check out the talent.
Bull**** it's a brotherhood ! That's what you're supposed to say when you're doing the PR thing but there's loads of backstabbing and cheating going on at these competitions. It's sad cause as much as he wants people to believe his story, most of these guys have identity problems and ultimately want people to consider them Elvis, himself.
It is true that Bill Cherry did a great job. I saw on the video the dream suit. It looked like Steve Kabakos and the young Elvis in Tupelo looked like Travis Allen. Too bad that the judges only knew Elvis as jumpsuit Elvis. Terrible title. The young ETA's only have to wait to get older and gain weight to win a contest final. Donny wins 2nd 3 times? What up with that! Oh! he is young and not heavy. Sorry Shawn Klush and Bill Cherry.
I wish they would stop calling every guy who gives his tribute to Elvis an Impersonator.... we are tribute artistes to Elvis not impersonators, none of us want to be Elvis, none of us are Elvis, we pay tribute to him and his Music
Mickey, do you wear a jumpsuit? Do you have the hair? Do you sing Elvis songs? Do you actually try to impersonate Elvis' moves? Look "Impersonator" in Websters and get back with me.
Mark... Its Micky not Mickey.... Yes I do but only to sing ... I do not got around as Elvis all the time... come on your a Tribute artist mate... you know we do a tribute to the king not impersonate him all the time
Seriously..if you are trying to re-create Elvis thru music, voice, dress, mannerisms etc..it IS an impersonation, even if it is only onstage. ETA's are impersonators, impersonators are ETA's. What a dumb argument. Tomato/tomahto. Seriously, ETA's are awesome, who cares what they call themselves!
Sorry, Micky, I'm with tcbwflsh. Regardless of what you do or how you dress or how you sound OFF stage if on stage you are dressing like Elvis, trying to move like Elvis, trying to sound like Elvis you are IMPERSONATING Elvis hence you are an Elvis impersonator. What's wrong with that? Nothing. I've done it many times. If it was JUST a "tribute" and not an impersonation there'd be no need to dress like, move like or even sound like Elvis you could just sing the songs as yourself 100%.
I agree. While the show they do is a great tribute to Elvis, at the same time they are impersonating him. They are in fact impersonators doing a tribute show. My blues band could do a set of Elvis tunes as a tribute but I'm still me on stage. If I put on a jumpsuit and copied Elvis' moves and vocals, then I'd be Impersonating him. I don't understand the problem with saying that either? The guys who think they are Elvis off stage as well aren't impersonators, they are morrons!! lmao
I just saw this man lastnight and it was my third time seeing and hearing him. I really like him,he is amazing! he is the best I have seen and heard since Elvis died.
You know Celine Dion from Québec (Canada) Martin Fontaine from Québec too IS THE WORLD'S BEST ELVIS IMPERSONATOR.

Looks good, but it will never be the REAL Elvis Presley. I am an Elvis fan and any Elvis fan knows that there is only ONE Elvis Presley.
