If I had not been able to bend my finger I probably would have had what was called a frozen finger. The Good Lord gave me the motivation and strength to work it out everyday. Did you have to have a closed manipulation on it by chance? i shattered 2 fingers on my left hand 6 months ago i had pins going all the way through both fingers like shiskabobs. i still cant bend the fingers completely and the surgeon wants to do a closed manipulation on it. was wondering what to expect from the manipulation.

@DavidBoettger I was working on a rig. I removed on of our sensors that had 3200 psi behind it. It blew the tools and sensor out of my hand. Left me with a broken finger. They never found the tools or sensor. God saved me cause I should have lost my life.

@gethimtrigger99 The wound was covered. It was covered with medicated gauss. There was very little damage to the outside. Most of the damage was on the inside, ie... broken/shattered finger. Pain real... Check, Finger shattered... Check, Pain in finger to this day... Check. Yeap, I have to say it is real and still with me to this day.

Yes I did. I got almost full mobility out of it. I can not make a completely closed fist, but I can grip things. I still don't have the grip I used to but hey, God has bless me with being able to grip. Peace!
It has been over a year now. I actually work on an assembly line now. I have to use my hands on a regular basis. About the only pain that I have now is when I wake up in the morning, but 3 Advil takes care of that. I waked it several times, but the pain medicine help that not to hurt to bad. There was one time I did get one of the pins caught on a blanket that my son had. When I pulled my hand back I screamed bloody murder. You are right, it does hurt more than the actual break.

There was about 3600 psi behind the transducer when it broke loose. That left me with the above injury. My life was saved and my finger was spared. I work as an MWD hand. I was taking my transducer off the stand pipe. There was 3600 psi behind the transducer when I broke it loose. That amount of pressure spun my slip & lock pliers around. My index finger took the blunt of the blow... HENCE, A VERY BROKE FINGER... The doc said that it was a catastrophic break. I say that God blessed me cause I am still alive.
The doc told me that he is suprised that it was not frozen as you say your pinky is. He said that if I had not started working it out 2 days after surgery, that most likely it would have been broken.
