Not true.
Finland took an active part in blocking the food supplies from reaching the besieged city. For example, as part of the Naval Detachment K the Finnish main task was to destroy barges with supplies trying to get to the city. As a result people in St.Petersburg were dying on the streets with almost 2 million dead by starvation by the time the siege was lifted, most of the dead were civilians.
So don't give me the "we did nothing wrong" crap.

I don't hold any grudge against Finns. Finns are actually one of the best people I had the pleasure meeting. You don't have to apologize for anything that happened in the past, it is not your fault. I was only trying to say that the wars of the past hide many grim things.
Of course I don't support any bombardment of the Finnish civilian cities and I deeply regret any violence or death that may have happened. We must put our turbulent past behind us and work for a better future for all of us.

I disagree, if that's what he thought he would have said so, McGovern doesn't hold any punches.
