  • Two BRILLIANT talents

  • I'm 15 as well and love this stuff. I love dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis jr and many more

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 if you are, that means I'm weird too! I'm 15 going on 16 in a couple weeks and LOVE this. if I ever become famous, I hope to bring as much class as Julie Andrews dies :) just add a little more modern to it you know? :) but I would never use autotune or falseto or anything like that :)

  • THAT'S a real Gentleman.. xx

  • Is there a more loveable lass than Julie Andrews? I'd no idea she was such a good dancer. What a talented minstrel girl.

  • I love seeing him dance!

  • Thanks amigo, for this precious video!!!

  • Things were no different back then. Everything happened behind closed doors and life was far more repressed. I'm glad to be here now then back then honestly. Grass and being greener...comes to mind..

  • OH GAWD - Kelly looks like Glenn Close in drague .... fortunately Andrews retains femininity .....

  • I have always loved Julie Andrews and she has almost always danced, but you can really see it in her work with Kelly, who is so generous and makes her the center of attention.

  • she is the most classiest, sophisticated, beautiful, talented, graceful woman

  • I think all thirteen year olds should learn to appreciate this beautiful amazing music instead of the autotuned junk which causes talentless people to be billionaires when so many people with amazing talent get no credit or money.

  • @DoRainMi And the mature ones who will grow up to actually be something DO. :) All my idols are never from past the 60's, except for Monty Python, and even they started in the late 60's. :)

  • I can't believe that ridiculous troll @RichardElden is still making bad comments about good people. Don't you have a life of your own, with anything that please you? Stop watching this kind of video if you hate them so much, and look for the beauty of whatever you might think is beautiful.

  • And pretty and graceful.................

  • I wish there was an mp3 of this!!! So good!

  • @pinoyidol2006

Search for the free software "aTube catcher" on Google... Sure you'll obtain that MP3

  • @RichardElden Seeing that he was gay, the cunt-loving can't be true. :-P

  • @dieKlinge1000

Utter rubbish! Gene Kelly was not homosexual. He was married three times - right up to the time of his death.

  • @RichardElden gtfo

  • I look at some of the comment and see I am not the only younger kid into this music. Granted, I listen to more than this...I listen to everything from the 1940s to modern day, (genre depending) but still, nothing comes close to the class and beauty this generation had. If only I were a girl then <3 I am torn between wanting to be a teen in the 50s and the 70s...My fave generations <3 xD

  • @LunaRaineMorrison - I feel the same way! Although I am young, I just love the classics, especially big band style etc. Nice to know there are others who still like this kind of music.

  • I love Julie Andrews, but I swear, when they're walking off the stage her head has unexpectedly come loose and Kelly is holding it on his shoulder like a cell phone to keep it from falling on the floor where they'd trip on it.

  • Can I at least dream I can dance like that?

They are so perfect dancing together.

  • I love it. Julie Andrews is such a lady! So entertaining and lovely!

The culture of that day was captivating!

  • I love Julie Andrews, God Bless her always

  • perry is waiting in Dallas!!!M

  • Whatever 'it' is - both of these classy people have it in great abundance.

  • is there anything gene kelly can't do???

  • i love Julie Andrews!! she has the voice of an angel!

  • I've always believed that a woman and a lady were two different things. Every adult female is a woman, but not every woman is a lady. In my opinion, Julie Andrews was (and still is) a great example of what a lady is. Beautiful, classy, humble, graceful. We need these kind of role models for young girls.

  • Wish music like that came back again... the music these days can't compete with this

  • What year is this song Love it too.

  • I love the dress!!! :) I wish i could look so graceful and light!!

  • Is it weird that I am a 14 year girl that LOVES this kind of stuff? I mean my favorite singers are Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, My favorite movies are Singing in the Rain and The Sound of Music. I love Julie and Gene. I guess I just love the older stuff. Im the only kid in my grade who knows who Gene, Dean, and Frank are. Does loving older stuff make me weird?

I guess I just wish that people still danced and sung like this. Everybodys autotuned and sucky now and I just hate modern music.

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15

theres nothing wrong with having good taste love XD

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 You're not weird! You just have good taste! Most of the others your age are too concerned with what is popular to recognize true talent, or they have yet to branch out their musical tastes.

  • You go girl!!! ;) It is not weird that you appreciate this at all. Remember this, it doesn't matter how young you are now or how old this is now, Beauty. Style and Grace are timeless!!

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 Haha I know how you feel dear, I'm 25 and have always loved it. Ever feel like you were born 20 or 30 years too late?

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 It is not weird at all that you appreciate this at all. Remember this, doesn't matter how young you are now nor does it matter how old this is now, Beauty, Style and Grace are never out of fashion!!! ;)

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15

You go girl! ;) It is not weird that you appreciate this at all. Remember this, Beauty, Style and Grace are TIMELESS!!!!! And you have good taste!

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 You deffinatly not wierd!! Im 13 and im exactly the same no one at my school knows who Gene Kelly is or any of the movie's im into, I was brought up by my grandma and she was well into Julie Andrews, Gene Kelly and the amazing actors/actress's of her time! My favorite movies are The Sound of Music and Thoroughly Modern Millie and people find that strange but i say if i like then no one can tell me im wrong, i find julie andrews a role-model!!! If you like it go for it! xx<3

  • @AmandatappingFREAK Proud of you son, good for you!

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 I'm the same, though 15

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15

I LOVE YOU. Your parents must be proud, you're a real model for every young girl in this world.

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15

Loving music like this does not make you weird. It shows that you are a young person with classy tastes. How wonderful for you!

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 I'll bet you're a very special young Lady, aren't you? Class is class m'dear. Quality is quality and never accept what they peddle for less.

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 You're not weird, you just have Good taste! ;)

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 Trust me it is not weird, i'm 13 going-on 14 and love the same things =)

  • @ImSingingInTheRain15 then we're two. ;)

  • I love how Julie's dress is so pink and flowy :)

  • I like how before, you could never mistake a man for a woman nor the opposite.

  • @OldNoir

    Ahahahahaha

  • She was 37 and it was The Julie Andrews Hour in 1972-73. Wish the ratings had allowed it to be aired longer.

  • My life is made.

  • I wish people still danced like this

  • i adore him from the bottom of my soul

  • One of the most graceful woman ever!

  • For sure, subtle sexiness is the best to describe her - so rare.

  • Best part in my Opinion, 1:27 <3

  • Comment removed

  • Class at it`s best.......who says it has to be raunchy to be good? I grew up watching Gene Kelly and always wish I could dance like him.

  • I don't know about Gene but Julie here looks so so beautiful :D :D Hahah oh jk Gene looks good too :)

  • gawd...they're so bouncy on their feet.... nice!!!

  • @AnaLoves2Sing

    no it is not :)

    i love this too and i'm 17.

  • Nobody sings this better then Dean Martin.

  • these two can float acros my computer screen anytime...

  • LUCKY JULIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Entertainment right here people. REAL entertainment.

  • @bubblinbrownsugar616 I'm 14 and in the midst of changing entertainment. I am happy to say that I'm not a part of it. I have never seen those new 'dancing' movies, I am content with Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, Singin' in the Rain, Dirty Dancing, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Original Trilogy Star Wars and all that. I agree completely. We need to get back to old Hollywood before Brad Pitt and all them. We need more Harrison Fords, Sean Connerys, Julie Andrews, Dick van Dykes and Gene Kellys.

  • @princessofthescoundr Oh yeah you and I are in the same generation and if it wasn't for my older parents, i'd probably not know or cared about it but since I do, I respect it when compared to today. It just has that "it" factor about it that makes it so refreshingly entertaining. Can't put my finger on it but its there. :)

  • @bubblinbrownsugar616 Same for me ;) I rented the Sound of Music from the Liberary so many times they just gave it to me! Ha. The relationships and casting was just so much better then, the directors knew what they were doing, the story lines had plots and actors had talent. Now all the movies are the same, and none are really family movies. There's always something that makes it PG-13. I just hope the rest of our generation isn't pulled into all this 'new family' rubbish!

  • @princessofthescoundr

There is hope for young America! I'm 30 (in between the ages and eras) all of the movies you listed reign supreme! Sad to say, but if the whole country is run by Hollywood and NY both their systems have been broken for a long time. There's some 'sacred cows' in all media industries that need to be put out to pasture. The people that have the respect for the art of film, TV need to start running things again. Hopefully, we're beginning to see a re-emergence of just that.

  • @goldilox369 Yes. It's hard to find a good role model these days... I was just in fifth grade when Hannah Montana came out... and now I am repulsed with Miley and how all these kids are turning out. Someone seriously needs to get in the system and kick some tweenie bopper ass. Believe it or not, there are more of us then it seems. Our time is coming soon ;)! I hope to be the one in the front yelling 'charge!' I was the only one in my class who knew who Julie Andrews was in third grade :/

  • @princessofthescoundr Hear hear! Well said, I'm 13 and I feel exactly the same.

My gosh i love this its just- its just....wonderful

  • Beautiful !

  • Greatest duo in the history of Television? Um, Yes. =)

  • I miss the subtle sexiness of Julie Andrews and the women of those days as opposed to the skanky-whoreness of todays female performers.

  • @KoreaSUN So very true!

  • @KoreaSUN

Have to agree with you there. Leave SOMETHING to the imagination, please! To bare it all so willingly, without a moment's hesitation...where's the fun in that? Oh well, everything's cyclical isn't it? I mean, the fact that the media is saturated with skanks should mean that their time will be coming to an end. I know it's hard to wait, but, be patient, my lovelies. Stay true to yourself, and your day in the sun will come. And you'll last a lot longer than the skanks will, to be sure.

  • @KoreaSUN so true..the women back then were so classy and beautiful. they didn't have to dress like sluts to be beautiful. the celebs today are so trashy

  • @KoreaSUNThe Ladies up to 1979... Ladies who could really sing! Ladies who can Really act! Ladies with Class! Ladies we respect!. Ladies we will always love.

From Judy Garland's Wizardry to Diana Ross in "Lady Sings The Blues. (She was great as Billie Holliday)

  • Here! Here!

  • @KoreaSUN I also miss those days when men were taught to respect and honor their women

  • The epitome of class and grace and beauty!

  • Am I really readin he is 53 here... Amazing! Lovely lovely, heavenly lovely!

  • gosh I'm sooooo jealous of Julie Andrews right now!! haha i absolutely adore gene kelly!!!!

  • AH GOD... <3 Two legends together!!!

  • i love how she sits down!

  • Heaven!

  • Absolute CLASS!!!!! such a world away from the garbage of today. Dont get me wrong, there are loads of talented performers in this era...but they just dont make 'em like this anymore. Such a shame.

  • god he look skinny and small compared to julie ..no offence i love them both

  • @2RandomWords i think its b/c he is in black and she is in pink--not helping to be in the pink dress...

  • @2RandomWords i think its b/c he is in black and she is in pink--not helping to be in the pink dress...and she is actually taller than him

  • Julie should be on dancing with the stars :)

  • Oh my goodness, I love them! Gene is :sigh: well, he's perfect. This is class. I was born in the wrong decade.... It's so difficult to believe that Gene is 53 in this video--too gorgeous of a man!

  • i love julie sooo much.i wish to see more movey for her. thanks

  • Reminds me of the Sound of Music

  • Lol to prove Julie isn't perfect, watch her feet from 0:44 - 0:46 and tell me what you see :-)

  • I'm watching this and reminded a little of Patrick Swayze and his wife Nieme dancing at the world music awards show. Patrick had alot of Gene infuence in his steps.

  • Probably my favourite actress and actor of all time - lovely to see them together. Thank you for posting this :)

  • I love Gene Kelly so so so much. Julie Andrews is amazing as well, they work so good together!!!

Gene is handsome here, as always.

  • what a dream!

  • Kelly was a boy no more, but he looks splendid and terrificly in shape. And Julie never considered herself a good dancer, but she prbabily underrate herself: she moves with a such grace. They are an amazing couple together!!!

  • Scrap all of the terrible reality shows currently on TV and bring back shows like this. What a great partnership!

  • Beautiful song :)

  • this is amazing!!! i think these two are one of those "jewels" of the show business industry which comes one in the millennium!

  • I didn't know Julie could dance?! Cool!

  • I always wanted a dress with a skirt just like this one. Sigh.

A couple of incredible performers those two.

  • @MJMyrna

so did i... i WILL find a perfect one one day! =)

  • i love them both, they should have made a movie together it would have been great.

  • Please tell me they have a dvd collection of all the episodes of her show...?

  • this is the first time ever that i have ever added a comment to anything.... I have just been to see debbie reynolds do her show at the apollo in London and I went on line to look at some stuff and stumbled across this....ahhhh. her voice is lovely and he has sort of got it...I love them anyway

  • These two are absolutely amazing!! :)

  • I think the dance would have looked nicer with Fred dancing, because he was smoother than Gene when it came to classical dances. But Gene just had this sex appeal about him, that made it a joy to watch anything he's done. And Julie is flawless.

  • even gene kelly's silhouette is sexy. sigh

  • this is so awesome.

    wonderful, i love it.

  • Its Raining (Dancing In the Rain) Again, From Breton2Robert is and absolute surprise

  • they are so beautiful!

  • Yes he is lovely and I love her movies and oh what a voice they both have.

I just watched Anchors Aweigh a few days ago, a musicalmovie with Gene Kelly AND Frank Sinatra. it was made in 1945, but it was a great movie. Hope thay one day make it on dvd. Or hope that TCM will send it again so I can record it. REALLY HOPE SO =D

  • WOW A lady above all measure... good grief she can dance!

  • beautiful

  • Gene Kelly charms me just walking across a room. Just beautiful.

  • Divin !

  • God they dance so so so well together :)

It's beautiful, and these two both have talent that just cannot be taught.

    Absolutely flawless :')

I could watch them for hours!

  • Julie andrews is really charming. I love her voice, the way she dances. And her dress of course!

I'm gonna see her in London and I can't wait!

  • oh my.. what a great chemistry! even though i know they're not a real couple, but when they started to sing and dance, it felt like they're really in love with each other.. so cute! :D

  • She is sooo graceful. How I want to dance like that!! (And I LOVE that dress!)

  • These two never did a film togther?...such a shame...woulda been great I bet.

  • Their film careers never really overlapped. Gene was getting a little old for his signature athletic dancing by the mid to late 50s, and Julie didn't really come to prominence until the mid 60s.

  • @heiress132 - I totally agree.. wish they did a film together.. it would been wonderful and amazing.. sigh.... <3

  • @Lindz8427 This is lovely...I'm not sure they're the best pairing, but it's a shame they didn't do more together.

  • If they had ever done a movie together it definitely would have been my favorite! My two favorites EVER!

  • Two of my favorite actors EVER. Julie Andrews is a queen, no doubt about it.

  • Boy can they dance!!! Now i want to take up tap and ballroom dancing :D but they don't teach just one type of dance at school :(

  • Wow that endless walk to the back of the stage must've been torture...to be embraced like that and remain in step!

  • These Greats, they ARE a gift. Gift for people who know, what is true art of singing and dancing.

  • Singers now do turn into actresses/actors/performers/dancers, but it isn't the same, because in the end they only have one real talent, one good talent, and all the others are supplementary. But for these greats, each one of their gifts were their greatest, they are all of them, and all of them made a beautiful one.

  • the best combination ever!

  • I know! It's so sad they never did a film together! =)

  • Couldn't agree more!~

    :-D

  • I love them both. Soooooooo talented :)

  • omg !!!! i almost fainted when i saw this! its so adorable to see them perform together!!:):)

  • Absolute perfection.

    *swoon*

  • Two the best for the show bisnes. Thanks for the moment

  • He still had it at 53. What a dream guy!

  • @dgniewek wow is he 53 there looks better then my dad lol and my dad is 52 if yoiu say he is 38 or something i would beleave it to.

  • love it! they had so much talent ! Its sad what come people call talent now : (

  • wow. they are so smooth together. Kinda like Fred and Ginger. I wish they had danced together more often.

  • Not afraid to admit Gene Kelly was such a looker when he was younger.

  • I'll admit it with you :) Gene was gorgeous!

  • .. Yet she still made it work.

  • To be fair she looks like she's wearing a corset, so it's be somewhat impossible for her to breathe from the diaphram.

  • I remember I used to alwase be like Julie Andrews. She is so pretty, even now I think. She was also a great dancer.

  • she's timeless :)

  • beautiful! how they sing and dance before!

Today it's all booty and wrong grammar!

  • @DazzleBezzleBabe

    "wrong" grammar, eh?

  • I can't imagine how many times this has been said, but will it ever get old?

Probably two of the most talented musical actors ever to live, together on one stage is just magic. Why directors never begged them to do a movie together is certainly beyond me.

  • They look good together. Don´t they?

I love this dance...and the Tapping Game too!!

  • I never new Julie Andrews And Gene Kelly danced together. Wow. I'm glad I caught this :)

  • i have a final exam tomorow T_T

  • haha mine are next week...whatver, my priorities are set here

  • loooool good one :), i guess everyones prioraty are set here ^-^

uhhhhh you know its kinnda irritating when all of my family started their summer holidaies execpt me :( am the only one studying :s

  • I can't believe Gene is 53 at that time

  • Every time I see Gene it will give me such a good feeling. On this occation together with Julie Andrews it will truly not be any exception to the rule. Simply great!!!

    Thanks for posting!!

  • i love this

  • I'm going out on a whim here, but if they had a love child, can you imagine the vast amount of talent and amazingness in that baby?

s/he'd be tap dancing and singing at 18 months.

  • hahah! that would be amazing! i agree bumblingbard!
