  • yeah, i did that in mine once and then it started beeping. i almost had to walk home!

  • ok somebody inbox me,,,,, why wont my fc turbo 2 boost more then 12 psi, its chipped, manual boost controller , fuel pump and full cat less 3 inch turbo back.

  • Yah I dun think it's the low reading dyno, I got the same car and only go thru mazfix.

Don't know if u had it or not but a turbo port helps a shitload. i got a fair bit of work dun but just a high flowed series 5 stock turbo 313whp 0.9 bar of boost at mazfix

  • This was Not Mazfix dyno mate, it was Rotary Motorsport. Mazfix read higher than Rotary Motorsport does. I did have a turbo port done too btw. Even if your high flow made similar top end power I doubt it would have the response and mid range that the GT35R had (which was better than stock response & wayyy more midrange). Doesnt really matter to me anymore anyway, sold this car 2yrs ago now.

  • ahh k yah i want to get that exact turbo for my car although my turbo is good and seems like it's response is pretty good it dies at 7.5 to 8k rpm on dyno and if i go any higher with the psi i don't gain anything :( ... How could u sell and rx7!

  • yeah the 35r was still making good power all the way to rev cut which was 8000rpm if I remember right (kept it low to be reliable) 14psi was just running off the wastegate too, the real power was there to be had with a boost controller and 20psi+ but was silly fast anyway, got me in too much trouble so I sold it and got a slow car, an R34 GTT with ~195rwkw...lol miss the rota tho, might get another one one day

  • o 1 question did you ever run it down the 1/4 willowbank or anywhere, if so what time did you get im just curious i have never run mine.

  • sounds like low power numbers for a gt35r on a fc3s...

  • Its a known low reading dyno...was told it would read 340-350rwhp on a different dyno I think it was mazfix's, cant remember. and besides a dyno is a tuning tool, real power output is shown at the track.

  • Sweet car mate :)

Just wondering why you only dynoed at 14psi with all those mods?

I'm thinking of getting an FC with similar mods but most rotaries I've seen only run up to 16psi on pump fuel. Is it not safe to run 18-20psi on 98 octane like people do on 2j/rb engines?

sorry man I'm a rotary noob lol

  • Thanks. I only ran 14psi as I was running regulated by the Wastegate, no boost controller. It was a pretty safe tune at that boost too. If I kept the car I would've ran probably 20psi, it should take it ok as i've seen plenty of guys running big boost on rotors.Getting a good tune is the most important thing tho once you've got the fuel system up to scratch. Just be ready for some heavy fuel use haha. I've moved on to a slow car good on fuel now, an R34 GT-T...

  • hey bud.

    20psi without porting or dowling?

funny how i wanna move onto a r34 gtt also lol.

  • Actually it was a turbo port, and it was dowelled too when I had the engine built. Had the works :) Go the R34 mate, they are a great car.

  • haha sweet.

picked up the rx7 on friday from dalton automotives. 240rwkw @ 17psi and 270rwkw @ psi.... damn now i dont want to sell it :( lol... funny as coz when i went and picked it up a black r34 gtt was parked right next to it

  • 270rwkw @ 20psi

  • Haha yeah its hard to sell, so much fun the FC's! But you wouldnt regret getting an R34, I dont. Great car to drive and plenty of potential in them too. Mines got very basic mods and made 186rwkw on 9psi. Just put a FMIC on so goin to get it retuned at 12psi see how it goes back at the drags.

  • sounds like you're dynoing in 3rd...... why?

  • perhaps you should learn to count as he changes through the gears on the first run...?? 4th gear bud, maybe it sounds like 3rd because it revs out hard because it has balls

  • Ramp rate determines the rate at which the car accelerates, typically measured in kph/s

  • I'd be spewin if i was you..... i made 272hp with a Series 5 High Flow..... & was told the Exhaust was too restrictive!

  • 320 on 11psi is pretty good, what mph have you run with that power? I was hoping i'd hit 120+mph next time out but have just sold the car so i wont find out now :(

  • I only hit around 108 mph. I bent an axle on the launch, it got a little wobbly and so I let out at the end top of the track. That was on the stock Top Mount. Air was seriously overheated. I got a Front Mount on it now, however I'm done with rx-7s for a while and I'm parting it out.

  • Good numbers mate.

I have a similar setup with 11 psi with the stock Top mount. Made about 320 to the wheels.

  • Stock TMIC is only good to cool up to around 200rwkw mate... are you using water injection or spray with those figures?

  • The Rims are 17" Lenso RS5's

  • What kind of rims are those mate?

  • Just got my FC Savanna back from Rotor Master.

225.5 @whp on only 10 psi. Mircrotech MT-8, intake, exhaust, and still got 420kms to tank despite 120km hr(Average) cruise speed. Had to fill up to be safe.

Still, new engine, squeezed the right foot a few times. The first good drive shes had in three yrs. Good Fun.

  • yes, 3mm South Coast Rotary seals.

  • Do you have 3mm apex seals?

  • nah man look at the descrption it says at 14psi and 13t and also gt35r and allso screamer pipe so its a turbo man

  • Aspirated**lol

  • i think its unnaturally aspirated... lol

  • is it naturally aspirted or turbo?

  • on ya scotty doo lol nice runs

  • very nice good to see your car mate :D
