If any Masquerade fans care, Archbishop Geza is a Ventrue, and most certainly a Vampire. I have the "Transylvania by Night" book. Also, that Nosferatu Josef? He kills Prince Brandl and becomes Prince of Prague.

redemption is settled in the oWoD too, first in the middle ages and then you wake up in the last nights which is a very cool thing. nevertheless redemption is more a hack'n slash game than a true RPG like VTMB is plus its story is not nearly as fascinating as VTMBs- in Redemption you nearly always know who belongs to the good guys and who belongs to the bad guys and the whole game you're doing nothing more than killing just everyone and everything that's bad and evil. VTMB managed that better.
You're only comparing from the "linear vs not linear" perspective. You're forgetting very important aspects like artistic value, where Bloodlines simply doesn't come close., both in it's the sound score and visually (it's much worse than Redemption even though it has a newer technology. There were real think tanks behind Redemption's art (history etc), not so much in Bloodlines). Also Redemption's story is much more profound, even though (or maybe because) Bloodlines isn't "as" linear... :)
The game itself is fantastic, though it does look slightly outdated now, but after loading up Bloodlines the other night, I found that did too lol.
The game is totally different, focussing much more on the Roleplay aspect, it's very linear and you have no choice of clan, but the game is insanely good with a great story.
i would say both are good in their own way. i only heard of these games a few months ago, now im interesting in knowing more of World of Darkness and the different eras.

Not really, Redemption was far buggier and unbalanced, also the party AI was horrendous, and guess what, most of the time you were with party, so that made it almost agonizing at times.
his is the best fuckingPnP to PC convertion game ever. and yes, very very romantic, heh. This is a great game and despite the confusing character sheet and system of points, it's still a badass rpg... PLAY IT.

Not really, Redemption was far buggier and unbalanced, also the party AI was horrendous, and guess what, most of the time you were with party, so that made it almost agonizing at times.
