I love the song, but I have to disagree... not the best song he ever "produced". By produced, I assume you mean "created", since he didn't produce this song.
I would have to go with "Tonight" from Blue Movies. What about "Harmony" or the original "Candle In The Wind"? "Come Down In Time"? Goodbye"? SO many to choose from!!

Probably the best song, musically, that Elton has EVER produced. Kiki Dee later adding backing harmony was a good choice. Just perfect.
