I've been enjoying your videos, I'm kinda sick today so I'm not at work. I wanted to tell you a great way to make some excellent elastic bands for holding kit together, take a bicycle inner tube and cut it into bands. Best elastic bands ever!
A saw and a good knife replace the need for an axe most of the time...How often do you really need to split wood? And if you cut medium sized limbs with the saw, you can just split them with your knife...baton with a stick. And you save a ton of weight.
a good axe is an invaluable tool to have with you out in the wilds and cannot really be replaced with a knife and saw, this is a woodsmans best friend
I've got to get one of those pouches. I've been searching for a simular pack for ages, but all I can find are these huge tactical equipment bags (which are too large to carry around all the time, in my opinion) Your pouch however, seems ideal for the items I carry. Thanks for uploading your video's, I always enjoy watching them(!)
Hey Mike .... Cool Video! Where did you purchase your tool pack? Is it a Web-Tex Trauma Pouch ... I haven't been able to find one that wasn't in the British Army pattern.
Keep up the good work ... I really enjoy your videos.
I think the cheap paracord does just as good a job as the more expensive, you only pay a bit more for the use of the inner strands. You will do without them just fine. A lot of people carry a small sewing kit for doing little repair jobs to pass time in camp, so you would have a finer cordage supply right there.
just wondered what other uses apart from firelighting the wire wool is used for?

Super video Mike!
I agree about the paracord also. Cheap cord does most jobs and is lighter to carry. Just reserve the good stuff for heavier duties.
