I love the way they take lovely songs, as made famous and performed by other people, and bring their own lovely brand of sing along party style of singing to them. They are just a delight to listen to.
@plaw1000 Nah, "Edmon'on", (as we call i' dahn there's) "NORF Landon", (and I oughta know, 'cos I was born in "The Norf Mid", and I lived in "Edmon'on" for nigh-on thirty years of me bloody life!) It's split into Upper and Lower Edmonton. (What yer seein' there's LOWER Edmonton, which is N.9.- Upper's N.18). That's Edmonton Green, they're on there- (known locally as "The Green"). Say "Edmonton Green" to a local, and STRAIGHT OFF, you've shown yerself up as an outsider! Peace and love! Be lucky!
@CockneyRebel1979 ' Cockney' means to be born within the sound of bow bells. you use it . chas 'n' dave certainly use it . 'Edmon'on' is a bloody long way from cheapside but, as you say -'peace and love' Its a lot of old marketing bollocks anyway.
If you take the Bow Bells to be a judge, then there'd be more 'cockneys' in posher parts of London rather than your proper East End. Plus they haven't rung in ages anyway. It's an old term rather than an accurate indicator of cockneys being your traditional 'East Enders'.
Like Chas, I'm ALSO an "Edmon'on" boy, and let me tell ya, The Green ain't half changed a bloody lot since them days- bugger me, has it ever! However, old "Levvahbarrah's" is still there and goin' bleedin' strong in the old market square! (I do believe it used to be run by a geezer called Freddie Moore years ago, if my memory serves me correctly!) I've met Chas and Dave on a number of occasions- what nice blokes they are an' all! Massive shaah' aah' 'a the Edmon'on boys- OI-OIIIIIIII! :)
I'd rather be a 'shandy drinking southerner' than an ignorant northern cunt.

@blackorblue92 And I'd rather you didn't use language like that, wherever you're from.
