I think all styles of fighting are really powerful but what you guys hav to know is that it doesn't matter about what style the fighter is using its about whose using them:) hope u guys all agree........ Well style does kinda matter :/
@TaekwondoFitness101 i don't know if it matters... i know the guy under two names; IP man (english) and Yewen (chinese), and i think i heard Yip man somewhere too :)
If you have ever watched old Bruce Lee movies, his quick "Jabs" were basically backfists.. he was striking his opponents usually with the back of his 2 main knuckles.
I fight a lot, and last week i got in a fight with a guy who did this. I sware it hurt A LOT. Tho i won by kicking his stomach pretty damn hard but anyways; dont say they are weak, IT HURTS A SHITLOAD
@musicfanxd Did you get it in face or in chest? And did it go "through your body"? Means when he extended his arms fully, was he at least half meter behind you? And he did a big mistake by letting you step back to kick him.
@thegoodhen He was aiming jaw. He was very close to me. I lowered myself and guarded chest and jaw i tried to NOT go backwards. He hit mostly my arms but it still hurt. I didnt want him grabbing me or such so i went backwrds a bit rotated my body and hooked his head since his hands were lower. The kick happened later. And with that "i fight a lot" i mean mostly with gear. This guy tho started the fight by hitting my girlfriend. Gotnoidea how experienced he was, but i dont like my gf getting hit.
@musicfanxd you did a good thing But it's kinda strange, I wouldn't expect wing tsun guy hitting a girl. (Or more precisely guy that is able to hit a girl to do WT). But since you were able to hook his head, he was most likely just an asshole who once saw some movie starring Bruce Lee.
@thegoodhen Haha, i agree :D. WT is a very strong fighting art. I think he had trained it some time already, but he hadn't fought in the streets. The rules are a bit different there + you see moves which dont happen at your training-hall. But yeah, that guy was a total ass, only time i've seen guys hitting girls in real life have been boxers(only twice tho). Never seen or even heard a kungfu/taekwondo/judo/karate etc. hit a girl before.
@ZamolxisReborn Punches to the chest are for training. The real-world application is punches the face or throat. Also, they have the whole muscular chain from heel to fist behind them.
@garouHH if you started nagging my chest like that, i'd kindly ask you to stop.
if you didn't, i'd get annoyed and punch you in the face.
then you can dream about your perfect technique on the way to the hospital...and i could go to jail. hmmm, it's not such a fun story, but you get the idea.
@ZamolxisReborn the real punches are aimed behind the body and on head. This makes the opponent loose balance + get disoriented because of rate of those punches. But even chest punches are enough to take aback.
@ZamolxisReborn You can pretty much call a backfist a Jab, because in essence it is thrown in the exact same way you would throw a jab and for the same purposes. The only difference between the Jab and Backfist when it comes to striking is that the jab hits square center of opponents face for ex. and a backfist would be thrown the same but striking the temple with your 2 knuckles basically. If you have ever practiced any MA before you would know basically what I am getting at.
@JesusFingeredBabies i agree muay thai is bad ass, i wud prefere to learn the old form of muay thai the original was a 1 hit kill technique

In summary: Have fun trying.

@ZamolxisReborn As you seem to have skipped the relevant text (which is just about all of it), let me repeat it:
Punches to the _chest_ are for _training_.
The _real-world_ application is punches the _face_ or _throat_.
Also, they have _the whole muscular chain from heel to fist_ behind them.
Thus, if somebody punched you in the chest outside of the training hall, give him my regards and tell him that he's doing it wrong.

@ZamolxisReborn if you watched closely, you could see he got hit in neck by backfist. This will make you sorta dizzy.

@thegoodhen backfirst?! seriously?!
get a clue.

@ZamolxisReborn Yes, that's how it is called.

@thegoodhen no, it's called "Useless"
ZamolxisReborn 8 months ago
@ZamolxisReborn Actually, it's a result of his opponent trying to push his hand to the side. You have no clue. You are just trolling.
thegoodhen 8 months ago
@thegoodhen ok, tell me next time when you've successfully used a back-fist.
.
i'll send you flowers in the hospital with my warm wishes, and the suggestion that you don't do dumb shit like that again.
