  • since more than twice as many people died here as on the titanic, maybe the Titanic should be called "The West's Dona Paz"

  • i remember going to zamboanga on a boat as a kid. man, they dont care. they will overload the damn ship. my last trip had the boat swaying side to side, me puking my guts out and thinking if i will ever survive the night. No discipline, plain carelessness and the attitude of "wont happen to me" is the motto here in the philippines. ugh!

Act like a professional. Wag mong dalhin yung asal pokpok mo rito. This is an INTELLECTUAL discussion for people with brains and GOOD manners. Grow a brain loser. Go back to the waste dump wer u belong. Just shut up and go fuck yourself, biatch. LOL.

  • @bharbiekuting who are you to say that to me. people have the freedom of speech here. learn to have some respect. you should be mature enough to know that those kind of words would be very offensive to a young person like me. it won't make you better than anybody. I was just saying something that although quite undesirable and maybe offensive to some, is painful reality here in our country. Face that truth. And please respect my opinion. Cause I sure am respecting that of others.

  • @bharbiekuting Showing lack of manners by saying dirty language to people who are merely expressing their opinion is just so low. You could be angry, yeah. But saying words such as "fuck you"? That is so high school, and I don't want to go back to that anymore. I've been oppressed by bullies for much of my life and I won't let anyone commit such assaults on me. I'm not stooping down that low for anyone. So cuss if you shall, I'm above you, so I shall be silent.

  • @bharbiekuting I am not ashamed of my country. I am not ashamed of being a Filipino. I am ashamed FOR my country. What I said was something about what the country should be ashamed of. Am I wrong in saying that the Filipinos should be ashamed of the negligence that led to this disaster? I think not.

  • @bharbiekuting I am not ashamed of myself, you know why? I am merely expressing a logical opinion opinion based on factual circumstances - an opinion with great and JUSTIFIABLE feelings. The crew was negligent and it took SIXTEEN hours for rescue to arrive. I dare say that the country should be ashamed if it says that it SHOULD NOT be ashamed because of this. I expressed a thought matter-of-factly and DIPLOMATICALLY. Someone as old as you should know not to be rude and boorish.

  • @bharbiekuting wow, for someone your age you should be acting like the professional that you are most likely to be. for a 27 year old woman you sure lack good manners and right conduct. people like you are why the country should be ashamed. shame on you.

  • :'(

  • i was only two years old when this happened but i do believe that this tragedy is a lesson well learned for the people of the philippines. it's just too bad that it needed 4000++ souls before the mistakes were realized...

  • Nope, the sad thing is not a lesson was learned from this tragedy. People are still going about their old ways. "Bahala na". "Pwede na yan". "Ok lang yan". Just a few days ago, a bus fell from the SLEX Skyway which by all means was a preventable accident. Yan ba ang proud to be pinoy? Pweh!

  • tama........as in right.. you see there are lots of morons that work on our government back then, that's why over 4000 died during Christmas.....i mean....what's good about Christmas that worth risking your life having yourself being a passenger of a overloaded boat........

  • They just let anyone on board without paying? What a piece of crap business.

  • titanic's claiming of 3;000 lives is nothing compare to this ship whom have claimed 4,000 souls,...but titanic is more famous probably because of its grandeur and was considered as the ship of dreams,..while dona paz well.. a very old vessel with a second hand from japan subjected to overcrowding,...still both tragedies are exceptional,..may all the souls from the titanic and donya paz rest in peace....

  • @kevin080592

    No,Titanic claimed 1,517 lives,not 3000!

  • asia's titanic on national geographic asia channel

  • Bilib ako sa mga survivors... Mabuhay kayo!

  • thank you zaereal. my wife and daughter was with this ship.

i wish i could see them again ... someday.

  • @philip4241 I'm praying for you brother.

  • @philip4241 we have written a song about this tragedy; a song to the captain!

check it out in our channel!

  • MY DEAR FRIENDS & RELATIVES, LET'S PRAY & GIVE THOUGHTS.. FOR A MOMENT. LET US COMMEMORATE THE 23RD DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF MY FATHER & THOSE WHO PERISHED IN THE WORLD'S WORST SEA TRAGEDY OF ALL TIME, THE SINKING OF MV DOÑA PAZ ( DEC. 20, 1987 ). THIS IS NOT ONLY A TIME TO REMEMBER BUT ALSO A TIME TO GIVE HOMAGE TO GOD FOR ALL THE BLESSINGS HE HAS SHOWERED UPON US. THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS..

  • My Tito Died Here :(

He Was Just 1st Year High School :(

    I Think

  • @jouyenmae Si Aludia Bacsal Ay Classmate Ng Mama Ko Noon :)

  • My parents almost board that ship in its last voyage. But still, many Catbaloganons died on that incident. Now, there is Pieta Park here in Catbalogan City. It was created in honor for those unfortunate souls.

  • The greater blow was for Catbalogan because most of the ship's passengers are from Catbalogan. (more than Taclobanons)

  • I think the negligence of the responsibles peoples will never be know..what a tragedie...

  • Hehehe!!! B-)

  • ` qrabee .. nkktkot !!

  • in the worlds list of dreadful maritime disasters, the phils has 4 and 3 of them came from sulpicio lines.. damn! people should not ride on their killing ships

  • @jonbal2001 what you think philippine ships are deadly why you dont come here and you will see me sank all the luxorius and biggest ship in america or whatever country you are nu gusto mo sapakan tyo pilipino ako im a filipino i can break your face with a little K.O. punck

  • @jonbal2001 you think all of philippines ship is killing why the england SHIP TITANIC is deadly because they're captain is sleeping when she hits the iceberg TITANIC's captain is sucker than the MV DONA PAZ captain you know that also the titanic's watcher is cause of the deadly 2 hour 40 mins sinking.... YOU KNOW THAT FREAKY BRO

  • The only reason people don't know about this disaster (even though more people died on this ship than the titanic) is because it happened to 3rd world people who are considered 'less important.'

  • @TaffyAlpha In a way you got a point but I don't think thats the only reason. Firstly the titanic is Titanic I mean it was the most luxurious and largest ship at that time. Second While many more died in the Dona Paz, bless their souls, than the Titanic it sank in a more bizarre way imagine a large luxury liner sank because it hit an iceberg. And Third, The Dona Paz was a local ship serving only the Philippine waters. Thus, Its not likely that it be a worldwide news. no offense Peace

  • Of course your name would not appear in a ship's manifest if you have come aboard without a ticket. Normally, you will be given a boarding pass by the port's authority. After a while, you will be made to sign your name in a manifest, some kind of a passengers' list. This list will be turned over to the next port upon the concerned ship's arrival.

  • nakakatuwa at nakakalungkot isipin na ang pinas kilala good and bad hay mga filipino tlgang nakalaan sa atin ang popolaridada good and bad.happy and sad.sana puro happy and good nalng kilala ang pinas ano.lahat nalang nasa atin eh.

  • Final official Death toll: 4375. So it CAN hold that many people.

  • @djwithnoname at least, some were from Vector

  • hey, it logical to think the ship is that overcrowded because it's christmas. Not that you can blame the maritime authorities for not posing limits because of the christmas rush.

  • it makes sense that it was overcrowded and may have been carrying up to 4000 passengers..

  • Nearly 4,000-5,000 deaths are just an estimation.

The ship is overloaded and most people on board are not in its passenger's list. Remember that was few days before Christmas when it sank.

  • P.S.

May the people who died in this disaster rest in peace.

  • Four thousand deaths?

C'MON PEOPLE! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT THE DOÑA PAZ CAN'T HOLD MORE THAN 2,000 PASSENGERS!

  • yeah that's the safety limit of Dona Paz but philippine people pushed to the limit.. they let passengers in even though they know that dona paz can only hold 2000 people. The ship was overloaded.

  • 2,000 is not even the safe.

The Doña Paz can only carry 1,300 passengers.

  • @t3hn00bling According to its specs its only allowed to a max 1,518 how come it was able to even load 2000 plus and not capsized before even reaching This tragedy no doubt is still pretty confusing The only thing thats clear is that it sank and many died with it.

  • yes it can hold more than 2000 passengers...and the tanker has peoples too...so sum it up and you get more than 4000+ people...

  • thanks for uploading this

  • 1:41 is not the dona paz...

  • check out "the top 10 most dedliest and disaster in history" pang apat to grabe!

    imagine that

take note, di kasama dun ung cause by natural disaster
