  • This tango was written by Edgardo Donato with lyrics by José Antonio Saldías. It was originally recorded by the Osvaldo Fresedo orchestra for Victor in 1923 and, with the lyrics, by Rosita Quiroga the following year also for Victor. The tango is a landmark... it is the very first time that a woman sings sadly that she lost the man she loved. I'll post you both versions shortly.
