Been to your country many times and experienced VERY friendly, polite and nice people. And when some elderly found out that l was Dutch they were deligthed ( to my suprise !) to speak to me in my own language.

The seperation of our two nations was a tragic and bloody period in our mutual histories, with stupid mistakes made on BOTH sides.

lt's about time to face this and to get over it.

It is ironic that Java filled the vacuum that the Netherlands left behind, that is occupy the other islands and becoming the dominant power. Indonesia as a nation doesn't exist, it is an island archipelago with different peoples, religions and cultures. to the Republic in the Pledge of 1928 under no pressure whatsoever and pledged that indonesia is one nation INCLUDING aceh and molluccas one language which is Indonesian, thus made the molluccas and aceh an element in the united nation of the Republic of Indonesia, and for the public schools they do admit Irian people to also enroll, thus making it a public school, no restrictions based on race, everyone can go and pursue their education.
