  • can you upload the other episode from the Little Fox series called 'The Strawberry Rain?' I think it's even more touching than this one... totally amazing...

  • @crazycrows1

What is this crazy drivel for? Enjoy the cartoon, goddamit....

  • These cartoons are, in a way, for us grown ups! I have gotten a glimpse into more of the Russian soul, and I love what I have seen.

  • @NewHopeNashFan

    Спасибо!:))))

  • I enjoy watching it as adult. But this is soooo depressing for a kid.

Little child would not understand the message and will be forever confused.

В этом наша загадочная русская душа и сентиментальность.

Спиздил чиновник деньги на обновление детского садика, домой пришел и заплакал. ... но деньги не вернул; поехал в Турцию с двумя раскрепощенными студентками

  • @gravizapp

ну совсем маленьким зачем показывать? а потом - что тут депрессивного? Вы плохо думаете о детях - кое-что они понимают лучше нас:)

  • Wonderful story and beautiful animation! <333

  • Очень классно сделали!) прям такие же) здорово!

  • эффект бабочки какой-то)) А вообще - трогательно!

  • Very nice little short. Loved it.

  • That was UH-MAIZING!

So I guess the grandfather never took off his prison jumpsuit.

  • Correct title would be 'Moth'.

    Butterfly = бабочка.

  • @ichigo73186 Doesn't that mean "grandmother"?

  • @plugee

Grandmother is 'бабушка', butterfly is 'бабочка'.

    Close, but different XD

  • @ichigo73186 Whoops! Sorry. :P I know very little Russian, so I shouldn't make assumptions like that.

  • Wow, this reminded me that I had a very sharp Japanese Katana style dagger when I was little. It was my favorite toy too.

  • Sliczne :]

  • We only briefly touched on Soviet Animation in my college, where I was majoring IN Animation. But on my own I went and looked at Youtube examples, and this is definitely one of my favorites. Thanks so much for uploading it!

  • Beautiful. Thank you so much for uploading these with English subtitles.

I never felt much like a westerner, ever since I was young, slavic culture, specifically that of the Russian Federation and Soviet union, attracted me.

I'm learning Russian in my spare time, maybe some day soon I will watch these without subtitles.

  • замечательный мультфильм!

  • I like the animation, and the storyline means somthing :3

  • the Russian animation was really great, the Polish also when I was a child

this was a unique great thing in the television at these times...

  • Now I can really play around! xDD WTF? ))

    А вобще да...психоделично ))))

  • @dustandechoesss lol and they say toys these days are violent. Jajaja its like a fat girl thinking she can eat anything now that she drinks diet Pepsi. lol XD

  • @PeachMaiden true :))

  • 1:36 Ах какой ты недогадливый! Rofl!!! И потом дал такое объяснение сыну, что фиг бы кто вообще до такого даже в пьяном бреду догадался.

  • lmfaoooooooo:P

  • Butterfly Effect?

  • @FREEFREENAME

Yeah! this is much better than part II of screenplay)))

  • Child!! live your childhood!!!

  • Soviet animation - supreme =З

  • WOW! that was insane!

I laughed so much at this bit: 4:08

    Hey children, knives are fun!

What age group was this aimed at!? It looks like it's for very young children except it's got some kind of plot about travelling through time, and here in Britain we laugh about how The Clangers probably goes over children's heads! (or atleast the political observation stuff probably does anyway)

And then there's the weird music and animation here - was this done in the 60s or 70s?

  • It's not a knife, it's a sabre. A pretty much common toy at the time, I had a plastic sword and a shield too. :)

I'm not sure, but i think that series was made in the early 90's.

  • this one was made in 1991

  • @pikmindoctor

It is 91 years, Russia, is not the USSR.

Is not a knife – it’s sabre) you have that, there was no military toys?:) I also do not like, for example. But they have always been and always will be, probably

  • "Everything is possible"- love this quote from the cartoon :)

  • надо же, в таких простеньких историях заключать такие важнейшие истины! может, отчасти благодаря нашим мультам детство мое, которое прошло в нелегкие 80-90-е, вспоминается мне как самый светлый период моей жизни^_^

  • The animtaion is great! The story is really cute, even if it is a bit cheesey. ^-^ But I like cheese.

  • такой добрый=)

  • Different cultures. That's all.

  • I know. A happy and a sad one.

  • yes different cultures. one with a soul, and one superficial.

    different cartoons..

ones that get children's brains working.. sometimes even adult's. early development is the key to intelligence later in life. and ones that degrade their brains and teach them to annoy their parents, not like vegetables, and generally be fucking idiots.

there are exceptions, such as old simpsons, but that isn't simply a cartoon is it.

  • actually the Soviet Union collapsed because of a few reasons

#1) Russians are very self-critical (or at least were before Putin's nationalistic crap)

#2) The small nations USSR took over after WWII wanted independence the whole time.. it was too big for their own good..

#3) Western propaganda, the best of which is from hollywood. 80s soap opera's set in miami or santa barbara (basically "disneyland") collapsed the USSR and Hollywood is the biggest reason USA is so powerful. D

  • I'm talking culture, animation, and you're talking politics. How full of shit are you? Changing the subject, oldest trick in the book.

  • get fucked skank. karl marx was a genius, perhaps the smartest ever german. his ideas were twisted by fuckers like lenin. communism never existed anywhere on earth yet. the men around the world don't want communism as there will be equality. but they don't care about equality as they are the benefactors of a dog-eat-dog society. even if there is a revolution, the people in power keep it from being communism. maybe one day people can stop being so bad to eachother. until then, go fuck yourself

  • real impressive how much peace is radiated through a cartoon like this one

  • actually *actually*, ussr collapsed because of planned economy.

  • Aw, that put tears in my eyes, and I can hardly even say why.

  • Love it! Man, I really like all these Russian cartoons, they always have a nice meaning to them. Though my favorite one is still Prostokvashino =))

  • Man, that was beautiful.

    I almost cried watching it.

  • I'm glad you're enjoying Russian/Soviet animation. It is a lot different from its Western counterparts. I'm hoping to post some more with subtitles soon :)

  • @houzdog03 that,s russian language

  • I like it!

  • What a beautiful cartoon! Thanks for sharing this and adding the subtitles

  • It's nice to see what Soviet Russia was not as cold and heartless as they would lead you to believe.

  • @TheSouthernGentleman

Dear, even the pope advised parents all over the world show soviet cartoons their children that they were good and humane people. And the fairy tale about the "evil empire " - the result of the propaganda of the cold war. I was born in the Soviet Union and proud of it! :)

  • @svetushok

    Pope:))

  • @TheSouthernGentleman

  • When was this series on? Was it during the 80s? We never enjoyed so educative and touching cartoons in the west! It's nice of you to have added the subtitles because my Russian are so rusty! I'm putting your channel on my bulletin for my friends!

  • Yes, it was back in the days of Soviet Union. You are quite right - Russian/Soviet cartoons are very much different from their Western counterparts. Hence the reason for making subtitles and uploading them here - so more people can get a little experience of what it was like for us living behind the "Iron curtain". I'm glad you and your friends are enjoying them :)

  • Well, behind this "Iron Curtain" people used to have a lot more than we even dream of today: school for everyone, work, a home, even though they were lacking 50 different brands of detergent. Of course not everything was perfect, but some of these acquisitions are not taken for granted today and one has to pay for most of what should be considered public benefit. We are all very happy you gave us a glimpse of this experience.

  • This is a very cute cartoon. I love the message.

I didn't know Russian Animation was this good untill recently. I haven't seen too many Russian cartoons, but they're very good.

  • I'm glad you're discovering this new world of animation for yourself. It certainly is different from Western style of animation. You can find more of Russian cartoons with English subtitles in my profile (including two other cartoons from Little Fox series) or in my favourites. Enjoy :)

  • Look for the Russian cartoon Treasure Island,& My life on Youtube.

  • huh ManBearPigIsCereal bright head

  • So Logical Cartoon..i like it

  • I like everything Russian, when I was growing up,(80's)Reagan era that's all there was-anti-Russian propaganda in movies mostly, everything from Rocky4(lol) to Red Dawn,Spies Like Us, mostly dumb stuff that as a kid you don't really think about until you get older. I always thought Russians were interesting people, anyone from Russia can add me as a friend.:)

  • This is my childhoods favorite cartoon! :)

  • Great music in this cartoon.

  • OMG this is so old! Brings back memories...

  • I was growing up with those cartoons, and I can say they are the best.If only you could imagine how many! There's no violence and a good message in them. I'm glad that people can see the different side of what they were told about the USSR.

  • Astounding. I can't remember the last time I found a cartoon with this much morale. This is truly an outstanding cartoon even if it was produced in the Soviet era.

  • I'm glad that you've enjoyed it. Just a little comment - it has this much morale in it because it was produced during the Soviet era. They don't make them like this any more (I mean in Russia). Not profitable.

P.S. We were not all that evil behind the Iron Curtain :)

  • Yeah, it was Stalin who ridiculed Russia with his iron ruling.

  • @houzdog03

yes, unfortunately, just like you, we are unprofitable. Access to western values:) People that stand at the head of our country for the past 20 years, the main value made money. We do not like this as you.

Thank you for showing their compatriots soviet cartoons!)

  • @CidSilverWing

and what means - "evev"? it is in the "soviet era" were made by the most prominent, the good, erotic cartoons and children's films - those on which we grew up and remember all life. Probably, this is what it says ....

  • @CidSilverWing

"prominent, erotic cartoons")))) wonderful, HUMANE cartoons)))

    a joke from google-translator

  • sunstripe31, it simply gift. Militarians always a little crazy. Especially in euphoria from the won battle)

  • I have recollected my childhood... Thanks))

  • hm very good i have only one thing to say why did he give little fox a knife? lol o well.

  • @sunstripe31

not a knife, and saber - as toys ( like the sword of the jedi):))))

  • Great cartoon.. Спасибо большое.

  • Очень хорошо!

  • Russian animation is the best))I think I'm lucky that we have it and I was very lucky to grow up watching such incredible cartoons=))))

  • While I can't put my finger on it, watching this was quite profound for me.

  • Same here :)

Most Soviet cartoons are so humane, innocent, and full of morals. The more and more I watch American cartoons (past and present) I see the huge difference. It seems to me that the creators of American cartoons want to make it entertaining to the children's parents as well (for business purposes), putting in cartoons adult themes, like dealing with adult relationships, and as a result the innocence and childhood wonder is lost in the American cartoons.

  • very interesting and cute.

  • Unbelievably sweet!

    More, more, more please!

Any information about this piece? Date produced? Voices? Country?

  • Date of production: 1991

    Studio: Soyuztelefilm

    Country: Russia (then USSR)

Voices: I.Yasulovich, L.Gnilova, A.Luschik and N.Romashenko (titles are at the end of the cartoon)

If you liked this one then you may want to check out another cartoon from the same series called "Strawberry rain". It's in my profile.

  • Thanks. I did see the one entitled "Strawberry Rain". First saw it in Ukraine. Didn't understand a lick of it. So nice to see it again with the Subs. Any more "Little Fox" cartoons? I love them....

    ~Norwegian1

  • I'm thinking of translating one more. It will probably be ready in a month or two.

  • Zdorava~!

    Atlichna!

  • Meep! ^^

  • Incredible!

  • Keep going!

  • Very sweet ^^
