for the Microphone jack..if it was my camera i would hav opened it carefully..and Soldered out 2 wires of the mic from where the built-in mic is sitting..and then add a 3.5mm jack, try to fit it all inside (or just leave it hanging outside) :P
At first I thought the video mode would be cool to have with the D90 but after watching many poor jello-goopy quality video images like this I won't spend the dollars to get an extra body. Instead I'll get another lens.
@TheUrethraFranklin audio guy? i'm very sure the audio is being recorded into a dat recorder..or a little portable recorder..its not all stored into the camera..
The quality seems to be good, but there isn't a image stabilizer and the mic is a problem. I would rather go with a dedicated high def camcorder and a separate SLR.
aw yup in on-location reporting sometimes yes but ion this situation i think it will look good if shes not dead center on the frame, for the audio sync i dont have problem syncing the lips and as long u got a clapper noise when you start to role for the Cue, then clean it up and record another ambient sound --> clean it up again and then combine the 2
It's not really all that hard. I've shot several multi-camera awards dinners using Sony EX1 cameras (and Nikon D200s for stills). We usually hook up a solid state audio recorder straight from a live output on the mixing desk (it records stereo WAV or MP3 files straight to 4Gig CompactFlash cards) as the audio is coming from multiple sources (music, voiceover guy, and the talent on stage on separate mics).
Synching them all up in Premiere is a doddle when you get used to it.

hehee wat happen to the rule of thirds....
ive got no prob with audio out since i can always sync it on post-production
homey69 3 years ago
Erh, rule of thirds, in terms of TV shooting, I really don't think it fits. As for audio, post-production will be hard to match the lips, won't it?
