I love the chords you are using, and the notes you use to improv. You think you could do a quick tutorial on this? Just explaining where you get the chords and notes from etc. Would be much appreciated, but if not no worries I LOVE IT. <3
Really awesome. I am learning to play boogie/blues style too, although I find it very hard. I have this bad habbit of using the sustain pedal too often I think. Do you use it, or do you ty to avoid it as much as possible? You are a great source to pick up new things. Thank you very much, I really love your playing.
@pieterjantas I use it yes but not that much more with blues then with boogie woogie like for example when u go to a break or after it..depends how u feel and giving ur passion in the song..thanks again!
When I listen to your blues and boogie, I always think 'oh yeahh, why didn't I think of doing that!' I guess it's not natural for me yet, but your videos are very helpful!
Eeco, Listening to your music, reminds me of my teen years, playing Boogie Woogie duets with my older cousin, at our Grandmother's home in Georgia. He always told everyone I played much better than him, but neither of us were as good at it as you! Thanks, for sharing your talent. My Mother played Stride, Rag, Marches, etc., for the silent movies, in her teens, so we have a great love for the piano!
Hi ! thanks for your nice story..great to bring back the old days. If there would be a way to go back in time I would play piano all night in the clubs when this music was populair..have a nice weekend, Eeco
Johnbefree wrote (and I translate because I speak french): Awesome! Could you make a video with the detailed right hand? I would like to learn it. And thank you for your Boogie Woogie lessons, they're a great help. . Translated just for you, Eeco ;)
too true! And in response to your previous response ot my comment, i won't try you 'cos i know you'll never give up xD at least not now you're under duress! :) lol jk!
You can hardly blame us for being impatient :) the material you've given us so far has turned us into ravenous animals, the music you play is just so fantastic, you're a legend in your own right Eeco! If you ever give up i'll personally slap you! :) xD
Great new vid Eeco along with the Bugle Boogie! I really can't wait for the CD to come out, please elt us know when it does! By the way i recorded myself playing the first bit of the Black and White Rag that i had described before, it's not a great playing, and the video is out of sync with the sound, but hopefully will give you some idea of the the piece! Kepp up the good work!
You know what amazes me? That blues, the classical music of America, seems to be more prevalent in foreign nations than here in the USA. Finding jazz clubs and blues artists here is very tough. I applaud all of you foreigners who appreciate the beauty of this musical art form. Hats off, friend.
u play very lightly and very good to learn of you :)^^
