People are being denied their 14th ammendment rights in guardianships and then they are being robbed of their liberty, their property, their dignity and often their families. Everyone in a position to change this has known about this for years but no one is stopping it.
And when your mother dials 911 almost daily, claiming that someone is out in the yard "kidnapping the girls" (when there is no kidnapper nor any girls) you will change your mind about having to take care of someone. :(
Attention good guardians: Have you been abused in your role as guardian by someone with their own agenda (acting alone or using organizations like NASGA as a prop)? Badmouthed in the press or online, had your actions misrepresented, been falsely accused, had frivolous lawsuits brought against you, or been abused in other ways? Did you know you are not alone? Is it time to share your story here or do you feel that would do no good because these people just have too much time on their hands?

Guardianship wards have less rights than a convicted murderer. Guardians are given complete autonomy over their wards who are stripped of the right to complain.

Where were these elderly people prior to your getting them back into the community? You may be providing a good service to your clients but there is another side to guardianship.
