Who were WVU's five biggest rivals twenty years ago? Pitt, Penn State, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Maryland. After 2013 (if not sooner), none of those schools will be in the Big East. Pseudo-rivalries with Rutgers, Cincy and South Florida bore me to tears.
@KillJesus yeah its depressing that all of the old rivalries are being washed away so these schools can cash in. Tradition is the core of college football and to take these games away is taking away from the sport itself. I'm sure (and hope) West Virginia and Pittsburgh will continue the backyard brawl as part of the non-conference section of their schedules.
@SebMajarian I agree that the Backyard Brawl should continue. Even so, I want WVU in the Big 12 in 2012. "Meatball" is a terrible commissioner who will be the death of us if we do not leave now.
