I can't remember if I've already posted a comment for this..so I'll say it again just in case. I saw this with my brother years ago, late one night, on a channel that doesn't exist anymore. We were children at the time but were both very much struck by the design and story of this beautiful animation. I kept it in mind for years after, thinking I'd never have the chance of seeing it again. So thank you very much for the upload..it's still as wonderful as I remember it. <3
@GothicsChocolate I believe they may not have heads to show a sense of spirituality with it. To not have something many may consider a necessity to live can give an almost immortal or godly feel and hence make it surreal. I'm guessing they may have gotten the idea from Elk spirits who (I believe in Asia) have no faces. To me they are the spirit of sound or music and once humans realize the damage they have done once it is too late from the fear of chance (as usual) they grieve upon their action.
are elk in ireland what we call moose in America? Our elk are more like Europe's red deer so I was just wondering since these looked like moose to me :)
@alaynawinchester the European Elk is a Moose yes, however this is a reference to the Irish Elk (or Giant Deer), that Died out around 7.700 years ago most likely due to over hunting, or just being maladapted to a changing environment.
Lolz this is gonna sound nerdy... We are referring to the Irish Elk which died out around the bronze age (legend has it that it was because of the dense forests that the elk got caught in which led to death) and so yeah, They are moose ^.^ lol
I saw this piece for the first time roughly 7 years ago when I was a kid, and I've never forgotten it. Everything stuck so vividly, and despite only seeing it once, I've been looking for this for a while. You have no idea how happy am I to see it again.
So thank you. For posting it here, and for making something so sad, touching and beautiful that it literally made memories for some of us.

That was a good video. But I didn't understand why they have 2 big ears on both side of their heads.

And please excuse the overuse of "it" xD
I'm seriously still working through this. I feel like I'm back on my livingroom floor 10 inches from the screen with my mouth half-open.

You like it too? I wonder where people can buy this. It should be shown to children and adults.
