For initial starting, the Gas Turbine(GT) will need to start-up by a DC electric motor. This is done by using the Gas Turbine generator as a electric motor by using the Static Frequency Converter(SFC) to convert the AC to DC signal. After the GT has reach to about 2900 RPM the SFC is cut off, from there the GT has already gain the momentum to rotate by itself. The air is drawn into the GT air intake via a ducting and the air is passed through the air filter.
The air is then compressed and pressurized. The pressurized air is then goes into the combustion chamber where air is mix with the fuel. (Either Natural Gas or Diesel Oil is used).
Natural Gas firing is much more safer then oil firing, since Natural Gas is lighter than Diesel Oil by density. Any gas leak, it will be suck out by the exhaust fan mounted on top of the Gas Turbine compartment.
