That's most likely NOT normal! I did on the first go when I figured out which "survival battle" mode to take. If I remembered right, um.... Easy = Mirah Unlocked, Normal = Capt. Dax Unlocked, Hard = Kai unlocked... um I forgot the fourth thing to get Raja unlocked.......
All you have to do is find some runes in any character's story, utilize your set correctly, and stay alive. Even if you have to go long-ranged target-spell sniping which could take a while to do, just keep cool and take out the enemy.
I certainly did that long-ranged sniping tactic myself.
hey is it possible to play as captain dax in story mode cause when i entered survival mode using ar and choosing captain dax it took me directly to shigas 2nd stage in story mode where you have to fight all the enemies with captain dax and lani I was able to play as raja in that stage and then afterwards it froze to next stage, but since this happened it might be possible to play as captain dax in story mode. maybe.
This game was fun for a while. On this stage, i would always run past all the enemies to summon them, then head back to the huge area near the beginning then use jump spells. Basically levels it up fast and when you kill with higher combos, more power up items.
If this is Stage 7-B (I think, stage 7-Boss, in the cave stage), that's a pain, but can be countered somewhat...
Here's where the missile swarm comes to mind.
My set:
Rune-1: Speed Boost, Rune-2: Auto MP regen.
Get rid of the pests first. Back off and shoot those meteors and fire-bolt swarmers at them if it gets irritating. Use sword drive if impacted by the corrupt character. Back off and charge, then do it again. The flying enemy boss is a MUST for Lock-On swarmer fire, but be careful!
Hmm...? Are you asking if they allow 2P durring campeign? Unfortiunetly they don't... sorry... :( (It would have been great however...)
However, there IS another mode that's relative to campeign mode that is up to Four at once max, but the bosses at the end of stage 5 are insane, lol! Also, not everyone around me want to do a 2P vid either... (which sucks, I seem to be the one who likes this great game the most around my side of the fence...)
I love this game. I bought it on GCN and did everything there was to do with it just find out that the ps2 version had more stuff (with horrible frame rate and blur.) I have the ps2 version now and while much larger than the GCN version, it's not very graphically appealing.
The missions are hard and I don't want to do survival mode again.

what i like to do is play as tai and run all the way to the boss attracting all the enemies and just spam jump spell storm

You can play it with comps and basically solo.
Let me try to define your terms
Sword Drive= Sword Spell Combo?
Fire-bolt swarmers= Fireball Target spell?
