  • Love that smile! What an extremely handsome fellow!

  • Amazed how he can pick up an accent, french or english.

  • Comment removed

  • What year was this appearance, I gather it was sometime in the mid to late fifties, because of the reference to Senator Kennedy

  • Yes, Yes thanks for posting!

  • WHAT I READ OF HIS DEATH..HE DIED HORRIBLY...FIRST HE WENT INTO A 4 DAY COMA .. THEN HE CAME OUT OF THE COMA AND HE ROSED UP IN HIS BED THEN BLOOD SQUIRTED FROM HIS MOUTH NOSE AND EARS ..THEN HE FELLED BACK ON THE BED AND DIED...THATS SAD AND A BAD WAY TO GO

  • those dimples!

  • He is very attractive!

  • @rocketytank-lawford was a drunken slob that frank sinatra hated because he could have carried himself nobly-but he didn't

  • @melollylolly no he hated him because of the whole kennedy situation, get it right if ur gonna lash out...

  • @DINOLOVER6717 No....he was correct.....the kennedy thing didn't help either

  • @melollylolly Frank hated him for awhile because he went out with Ava Gardner.True.

  • @ilovety65 Frank could write people off at the drop of a hat. As nice as he was to some he could hate with just as much vengeance.

  • Peter Lawford AND Arlene Francis in the same room - I defy ANYONE to find more CHARM in any one place ANYWHERE!

Very nice to see Mr. Lawford - hopefully at a good time in his life at that time 'havin' a larf'

...and ALWAYS brilliant to watch Miss Francis.

Thank you Very Much for posting this!

P.S. Agree with the previous posters regarding the "French Windows" and the Cockney - deft touches!

  • This show had the whole Rat Pack on at one time or another.

  • @Ahoymichael can you upload one of the times?

  • That is Eammon Andrews? This is Your Life guy! Wow!

    Subject: apostrophe frickin laser beams

Anagram: Peters Posh kin - as claim - forbear

  • What is My Line? Apt! Peter.

    Subject: lean forward

    Anagram: "Lawford" near!

  • He was a bisexual alcoholic drug addict.

  • Oh don't be a cad! lol

  • i love him!

  • Jack Kennedy's pimp. So accomplished, so charming, so many opportunities. Died a drunk, broke.

  • a underated actor

  • WAW french is my mothertongue and he speaks perfect french !

  • @girl43 - i've been trying to google translate! can you tell me what he saying??

  • @makemeupkizzy

He mainly says "quelques fois" = "sometimes" and "pas tout le temps, j'ai dit" = "I said : not all of the time" =)

    Lovely french accent ;-)

  • @girl43 - Thank you so much! my ''guess spelling'' was waaay off...

  • Interesting comments so far. I share his last name but that's about it.

  • When he was a little boy, his mother used to dress him in girls' clothes. It's one thing if you're transsexual and want to do that, but it's another thing to have your own mother do it. I think it messed him up a bit.

  • Peter was in the sequel to Lassie come home, Son of Lassie. he played Jim ( roddy mcdowell's part) at 17. He was in the royal force in the movie.

  • I had never heard of this actor not until I saw the Rat Pack movie. Movie about Frank Sinatra's life. I had no idea he was english or that he was married to one of the Kennedy's.

  • My Dad knew him.He used to work as a painter at the Carlyle Hotel, and Mr. Lawford used to stay there at the Presidential Suite.

The poor guy would drink everything that he could find.

  • I love the tie straighten when he first sits down. Such a Rat Pack thing to do. Such a sexy man.

  • @rocketyank He did that as part of his phoney front. The lush brought nothing else to the table.

  • Peter Lawford was an amazing talent. I don't think he ever had roles that were good enough for him.

I had a huge crush on him when I was a little girl in the 1970s. I didn't even know he was President Kennedy's Brother in law!

  • He was a great talent and unfortunately underrrated

  • Ahhh he is SO amazing!!!! *swoons*

  • Don't forget. Member of the rat pack

  • FRENCH

  • class act, super charming.

  • @bobstheking Peter Lawford a class act? What were you smoking? More like skid row bum who turned on his own kid to drugs. Even the Kennedys ran as far away from his as they could.

  • @spagandtuna Tell me about your perfect life, huh?

  • @bobstheking This is about Lawford, don't try to change the subject or moralize. I've never asked you for your approval or your entertainment dollars so buzz right back into memorializing this boob if you want.

  • @spagandtuna Lawford was an interesting, entertaining personality; I'm just curious about your contribution to life, other than having "tuna" as part of your user-name. I ask this with all due respect.

  • @bobstheking You don't ask anything with "all due respect" you deceitful little turd. You tried to take a harmless moniker and make something bad about it. But you'd be wasting your time, dolt. I've provided social services on behalf of the truly unfortunate for over twenty years. Lawford was a miserable, characterologically impaired drunk and scumbag who squandered every advantage while poisoning his own kids with drugs. Fortunately, he deservedly ended up on skid row.

  • @spagandtuna Weighing 190 lbs, I'm hardly little. But how could you know that These "truly unfortunate:", were not somehow flawed in their character and deserving of your services. And if Lawford ended up "fortunately" in skid row, Would he not, at long last, deserve your compassion. I understand he was incontinent at the end. Would that get your approval?

  • @bobstheking He would get a professional service but no one I mean no one

would be lining up to sing praises for him, and I haven't even started on what a no talent pretty boy douchebag of an actor he was. Why don't you give up the ghost and let this idiot just disappear at long last?

  • @spagandtuna Oh. let's see, lawford was ass-raped by an uncle at about age 10; His mom dressed him like a girl, (with pictures!), he was spanked ,by his mom till his early teens.. Had no formal schooling at all. As a child actor, his mom demanded his employers give her a job looking after him because he was queer.

  • @bobstheking Sure, and the proof of this is the shithead he became as an adult. I'm not going to argue with your account of his woes, I'm only saying he didn't really rise above because I contend his output was shit from jump and that he went as far as he could on looks and phony charm. What's the big deal? DID HE RISE ABOVE??? Nope.

  • @spagandtuna He was friends and part of Sinatra's group and even survived seducing Sinatra's wife Ava Gardner. He was like a brother to JFK and Maryiln Monroe. & I'd say having good looks and good friends & I think ,real charm, is a sign of Good favor from the Deity. How do you feel about Hitler? Even he had some redeeming qualities. I think Lawford did OK

  • @bobstheking You use terms "friends" and "like a brother" very inappropriately. He was simply a bag man between FS and the Ks and when he was no longer useful (after the Bing Crosby thing) he was cast out because both sides knew what a prick he was. The Kennedys were stuck with him a bit longer because of the marriage but eventually he was persona non gratis with them too. I didn't even know about the Gardner thing. The more one hears the lower one's opinion of this trash gets. CTD

  • @spagandtuna Lawford was the father of JFK's nieces & nephew. & if you know the K's & if you knew Sinatra jealous rage, you can count him as an a very close friend of Sinatra & Kennedy, regardless of the Crosby aspect . Sinatra & Kennedy were like brothers. "bagman" means a money go-between. All that groups life fell apart when 2 of Lawford's brothers in law got their heads blown off. That might've put an inhuman stress on anybody.

  • @bobstheking Hello, is anybody out there? After the Crosby fiasco, Sinatra never talked to that bum again. And Lawford was lucky that's all he did. The daeth opf the two Kennedys had nothing to do with Lawford's out status with them. It was no doubt his behavior which was below EVEN THEIR standards. Never forget this piece of shit turned on his own kid(s?)

  • @bobstheking CONCL And you like Hitler's so called "redeeming qualities" too? Figures. Me, I would have deskinned him and put him into a vat of hot salty water at first site. I'm that perceptive re character. Sorry you can't hang.....

  • @spagandtuna. Did you know that Hitler refrained from bombing british cities despite being bombed for 5 months by the RAF? He was also quite brave in ww1. I doubt you would've survived an encounter with him.Yes, even Hitler had some good qualities.

  • @bobstheking This is where you put yourself into the gutter. If there was any period in which Hitler refrained from bombing British cities, you should know humanitarianism would have had nothing to do with it. Perhaps you are still regretting Hitler's all time strategic blunder, that is, attacking Russia when he should have been solidifying his gains in Western E. Not a religious person me, but that had to have some divine connection. Please let's not speak of Hitler scum.

  • @spagandtuna Sure, but Hitler did'nt smoke, drink. He did like littlle cakes and amphetamines. Was queer but persecuted queers. Was a Rothschild, but hated jews... Most of all, instead of phoney money making wars, He strived to end the sources of war for all time.

  • @bobstheking You have to have a point in there somewhere. From your tone, it sounds like you feel Hitler had some redeeming qualities, and like you said, he "[strove] to end [war] for all time." Have you considered requesting an increase in medication? Go get evaluated.

  • @spagandtuna You mean am I bent on suicide? What's so great about living. And

humanity? We're dumb animals.Slaves to genocidal self proclaimed godlings.

Like Lawford, gonna live till I die.

  • @bobstheking Jeez, no, but now that you mention it... The only thing I care to take issue with was your assumption that Lawford lived it up until he died. No, he was a miserable s.o.b. who did what he did in an attempt to blot out his obvious self-contempt. He could have lived nobly but chose to live like a hedonistic, empty, bum. And so shall he be remembered. But if you stop writing back, I can go back to forgeting that this shitstain ever lived.

  • @spagandtuna I love the Kennedy's but they were a tough bunch themselves and were tough on Peter. Very difficult family to marry into. From what I've heard he was a nice guy. Jack and Bobby liked him.

  • @calalilygirl What about he turned his own kid on to drugs did you not understand. In the end he was an irresponsible drunk who threw away every advantage and he had many.

  • @spagandtuna His wife Pat was reportedly an alcoholic herself. The Lawford children seem to have turned out okay. I've seen the son on television many times. I am not misunderstanding a thing. The father Joe Kennedy was no saint. Peter was a talented actor who did not have enough opportunities to express his talents.

  • His smile is a million bucks!! Well done.

  • Peter was so cute. And those dimples LOL

  • He grew up speaking both French and English, not surprising he chose that language. Loved the mention of his brother-in-law, JFK.

  • "Who opened the French windows?" LOL.

Mr. Lawford was a very handsome and charming man indeed. I love his Cockney "alright!"

    Thanks for posting.

  • What a smile!

  • ok wow that was along time ago i was born in 1992 i just injoy old tv shows movies etc

    thank you

  • Does anybody what year this is from.

  • This originally aired May 12 1963

  • Nope. 5/13/56, per the IMDB. Peter Lind Hayes and Eamonn Andrews were panelists that night. Joey Bishop was on the 5/12/63 panel.

  • You are correct. I did a bit more research and noticed that Peter Lawford was on What's My Line more than once.

  • "I saw your brother-in-law, Senator Jack..." Obviously this episode predates the 1960 presidential election. I love the little glimpses of history you get casually dropped into these old episodes of What's My Line.
