  • IT DOESNT MATTER WHO THE ROCK IS!

  • the most cheesiest cliched action film of the 90's. buts fucking brilliant :D 68 year old sean connerry can kick ass

  • marines are awsome, but most of the military films i have seen are about u.s marines

  • buena pelicula, bien hecha

  • "I've come before you to protest a grave injustice."

When I heard that line, I knew I would be watching a great movie and listening to one of the best movie soundtracks of all time.

  • @arniemonkey the only thing I'm embarrassed about is that the bitch ass politicians like to start wars but won't let us finish them.

  • @Cha0sLord93 Good old whatever shit country you're from... Happy being a shitty 2nd or 3rd world country because you don't have the balls to be as great as America and accomplished what we've accomplished.

  • @dragoneye12002 but arent you embarrassed by america ...or are you a warmonger who never enlisted ...lol

  • @aleronstube Yes SOME security contractors do have more weapons training then SOME Marines like admin or airwingers. But when it comes to the combat arms forces no security company has better training. Your friend demonstrated it in a training exercise? WOW!!! I'm impressed! Marines do it everyday in REAL WORLD battles and firefights. Also, don't believe everything your "badass" security friend tells you. I know how any tiny bit of action those guys get can turn into a giant superman war story.

  • @aleronstube Are you serious? hahaha Is that why we've been winning wars since the Marine Corps came about in 1775 and every other country has admitted it? Weapons from the cold war? I don't know what "Marines" you know but I don't recall them having M16A4's, M4's, all the different machne guns and track vehicles we have today. The list goes on and on. I don't know what kind of dope you've been sniffing or what rock you live under but you just made yourself sound like a total ass.

  • @dragoneye12002 Which wars do you refer to? Which other countries have admitted it? Please quote your references. The British SAS and Russian Spetsnaz have not admitted it, they frequently state they are the best (and for the record the Marines asked the British SAS to help train them). The M4 is simply a mod of the existing M16, it is neither an advanced nor reliable weapon. And you end with an ad hominem attack, I did not, I think that speaks for itself.

  • @warbossgrotsmasha23 that must suck to be a soldier. Good thing I was and always will be a Marine. The only time I've thought of the scum I put down is when I'm glad I got them first. I don't have nightmares or lose any sleep over it. I owe it to the training I was given and the mindset I had going into it. I waited for the day to take one of those fuckin religious freaks out. You won't be seeing me wasting my time at a therapist.

  • @dragoneye12002 killing will always get you no matter how well trained you are to cope with it, kill one bastard now, kill one tomorrow and a few dozen more in the day after tomorrow...it will always get you if you're in an extended combat situation that reaches a stalemate and forced to either fall back or push forward, i for one take no pleasure in killing and thats why i avoided the army :)...P.S. since you're in the armed forces i take it you know what combat fatigue is ;))

  • Best movie ever

  • Comment removed

  • @aleronstube security guards who do longer training?! haha what kind of security guards do you know? And the training doesn't stop at 3 months fucktard. Thats just boot camp. Theres also MCT for the POGs and then MOS training. For the grunts theres School of infantry and then whatever specialty training there is depending on your infantry MOS. Get the fuck out of here with your security guard bullshit

  • @dragoneye12002 I know security guards that are better trained than the US marines. The US marines are, quite frankly, poorly trained and under equiped. They still carry weapons from the cold war, and are trained with techniques that have not changed since WW2.

  • @brivanas no shit! the army is an occupying force. Marines are there just to take over the place and hand it to the army to occupy it. Just like the first Battle of Fallujah. We took it over and gave it to the army. The army lost it and we had to go take it over again and stay there

  • @dragoneye12002 being a soldier is a messy job, go in kill and get out with your ass in one piece...killing a man is not as easy (psychologicaly speaking) like killing an animal, you'll get haunted by that dead man's image for the rest of your life

  • @warbossgrotsmasha23

ive never been haunted by the images of the dead? if someone feels sick by what they do then dont join the military and go to pointless wars and kill people.

  • @Glaswegianmark if you're a soldier or spec op how many people have you killed? and if you indeed were in a combat situation and fought the enemy what did you felt when you took a life? :) pleasure? disgust? or nothing?...i'm just curious

  • @warbossgrotsmasha23

i guess its different for different people. i just felt a sense of relief if that makes any sense? but its different for everyone i suppose. most guys who do this are young teenagers.

  • @Glaswegianmark thanks for the answer

  • NO TO FEMA CAMPS JAILS NO TO SOPA NO TO NDAA NO TO FORCED CHIPS GHOST!

  • my heart goes out for all the folks that have lost there children for a war with no wmds for gwb.dont send your kids to die for a rich man.brother godfrey

  • Marines, or Soldiers? Marines are Marines, Soldiers are people in the Army.

  • Oh! This makes me want to go join the marines! So cool!!! ... Oh, wait, I already did that. Thanks to movies like this that glorify and intoxicate the brains of young men - and could never ever get it right anyway. Better to make yourself a decent life - provide for you and your family - grow up to be a man the good old fashioned way. It doesn't take killing to be a man - may even make it harder.

  • This is not a real Marine. It's an actor. Get your shit straight. Being a marine isn't what movies make it out to be. Dumbass.

  • The only real marine ever found - an actor. That actually tells alots.

  • Good old America.. Sending their troops in to places where they shouldn't be, killing innocent people and doing things they shouldn't, then leaving their boys behind to die so no one knows about it. Nice one Amerikaland, you're a tribute to everything you've ever accomplished

  • Best part of this scene is when he puts his Medal of Honor on the Tombstone and kisses it... Def means he's ready for business

  • @dl30wpb did you know that the FBI have a section that make sure none of the MOH's leave the states EVER!

  • @nes8i7t realy? why would they do that?

  • The average Army deployment is about twice as long as that of a marine and three times as long as the air force, yet they are by far the biggest branch. Interesting.

  • This soundtrack has the power to change a life... so dam moving, makes me wanna get out right now and make the best out of myself i can ever be.

  • i got green smoke!! i got green smoke!! Abort abort!!!

  • They're not coming for us, are they sir..

  • They are not coming for us are they.. sir.

  • Theres something i gotta do Barb...

  • J'adore ce film, et cette musique est ... envoutante...

    <bravo

  • I watched this movie over 20 times when i was 7-10 and the secne when they all die in the shower room will never leave my mind. What a sad movie. The soundtrack really makes it.

  • But... whatever happens... please don't think less of me.

  • Ed Harris was great:) Love the soundrack:) Welcome to the rock

  • Great film, maybe the best one directed by Michael Bay.

The music is haunting.. thanks to Hans Zimmer & Nick Glennie-Smith.

  • respect your country, the US. Cos the rest of em, dont even stand a chance wrt freedom n liberty...long live US

  • Yeah, a real marine...who pointed chemical weapons at his own countrymen. Good intentions, horribly retarded execution. Bad example, man.

  • Marines don't use umbrellas.

  • what medal does he put down? medal of honor?

  • @egforevervlad correct

  • @egforevervlad Nope!

  • @egforevervlad yep, which proves he's the bravest of the brave

  • @egforevervlad yes sir

  • @egforevervlad Yes.

  • @egforevervlad its his medal of jesus as talked about later.

  • THIS SHOULDN'T READ A REAL MARINE.. HE'S A PATRIOTIC AMERICAN!! HAIL TO ALL THE ARMED FORCES!

  • @Dalbert342: The wife's grave is not the grave that the Burial Detail was at. Spouses are allowed to be buried in Military Cemeteries in certain cases by request.

  • Why would Hummel's wife get a military funeral???? I assume thats his wife being buried

  • @Dalbert342 because if ur military ur wives or husbands can get a military funeral it says beloved wife to General Hummel

  • What a baos!

  • @daskloputzer cant tell if trolling or just really stupid.

  • The Marines is not bad. It's the Governement ! Respect at soldier in the world but not Governement !!!

  • transformers stole theme

  • @DasKloputzer You do realize this and transformers were both directed by Michael Bay right?

  • @MusicMan100 transformers stole theme!!!!

  • I love action movies, but sometimes I hate the ones with the bellic cliches, where Marines, Army, Navy, etc, are some kind of elite or superior class people. Here the villains behave like they're still Marines while they just became criminals and traitors. And, in movies where the enemy is from another country, "america" always wins. It doesn't matter how many inocent people they kill, they always are the good guys. I hope is not like that in real life.

  • diego2gr your such an ignorant civilian. for one he's not just an officer, he's a general, and for 2, a Marine would NEVER leave a man behind. for example Corporal Meyer who disobeyed orders and saved 36 fellow marines, read about it.

  • "It has to stop"...As great as the military is alot the stuff has to stop..So much bullshit and lies

  • @CosmicDestroyer99 to hell with the government one day the rebels will go to war against the government

  • @crobledo89 Indeed my friend someday it will happen there are all these anti government military groups out there with alot of weapons and are on watch lists

  • Francis X. Hummel FTW

  • Ed Harris has a persnality like a real militar but with more personality than others

  • @jLaCrMz How can you tell?

  • during our uniform class in boot camp they showed us this clip from the movie, fucking epic.

  • @SDslipknot420 do you know why they did that sir?

  • Now that's what a call a real officer in the Marine Corps.

  • A Spetznaz guy tried this once back in the 60's and changed a lot of stuff for Russia I'm proud of him he had guts

  • only a general could have tht many medals. 30+ years of service

  • Ed Harris for President!

  • im no marine, but general hummel is my hero, the world needs more men like him

  • I came here...cause the tittle said.. THE ROCK..

  • Manz.. Im not a military man but there were a lot of medals on his chest. haha! This was not a normal soldier... i like this movie and this hero.

  • @wongjonny123456 yeah he was a brigadier general or something. big guy!

  • IT HAS BEEING HAPENED

  • That is sad that his wife only lived 44 years. Even sadder that he was foolish enough to attempt what he did.

  • Whatever happened to Michael Bay??????????

  • @daveibukun He transformed...

  • @Talpanda hahhahaha.

  • if ed harris salutes me like that i would piss my pants

  • Ed Harris is Awesome !!!

  • For rememberance all US mariners, dead at WW2!

  • one of my favorites.

  • The US government is still pissing on the constitution.... are there any marines that remember their oaths?

  • @Jononutoob ENLISTED: "I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

  • @Jononutoob OFFICER: "I, _____ , having been appointed an officer in the Marine Corps. of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion;

  • OFFICER (Cont.): and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God." Any more questions?

  • @1zesty1 Nicely done. Now if we could get our leaders to take that oath we might have a chance.

  • This movie gets better as time goes by

  • Comment removed

  • He est mein fuhrer!

  • I bet all his medals weigh at least 3 kg

  • Could watch this film 1,000 times and never accept those marinesas the antagonists. They fought a noble cause, exemplified by the speech at 1:40.

  • @thepastyman91 I never could accept them as the antagonists either. I saw the movie as two sides with a different ideo of "right" while both were still in the "right" they did fight a noble cause. If i were in that movie i would be on their side. Probably.

  • It's really weird that the last great action film of the nineties was made by Michael Bay,it seems that all his tricks and cliches worked great on The Rock.

  • im applying for NROTC in 3 years!!!WOOT!

  • Who dares wins

  • When the us marines and navy seals fuck up who ya gona call?.... capt mason of the British sas that's who!

  • Anybody else want to fuck shit up alongside Ed Harris? They should have made him a real general and put him in charge of Iraq, now that would be the American way.

  • I'm not in the services, but I think this is the epitome of what a Marine is suppose to be.

  • 1:40 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD DAMN

  • Comment removed

  • and again it needed a retired brit to get the shit done

  • @Darusdei A fine example of "who dares, wins"!

  • @Darusdei lol...Like when the U.S. helped Britain in WW2? ;)

  • @cooperadamb i'm not going to have an a ww2 argument. just noted that in many movies / games, there are the british sas saving the day

  • @Darusdei I'm pretty sure he's a Scot

  • @caucasianjake The word British is an adjective referring in various ways to the United Kingdom or the island of Great Britain and its people and language.

    Demonym: British or Briton

  • @Darusdei "I don't like your tone Captain"

  • @callofdutyguy9 captain price? :p

  • @Darusdei lols. General hummel to Captain Frye

  • id take pleasure in guttin you boy

  • ed harris dies in alot of movies, The Rock, National treasure 2, enemy at the gates

  • general hummel is a real marine !! he get's sacrifice himself for hes believe !!! semper fidelis sir!!! always !!!!!!!

  • Wow this is powerful. Boot camp in 2 months.

  • @usmcandrew16 June 27th, 2011 MCRD for me.

  • @streetbiker8 fresh meat for the grinder? haha have fun mustering in the grinder :) if u got a gf dump em now cuz jodi is gonna get her lol! if u think wearing that uniform is easy better think twice...

  • @JustAnotherOne1 Look kid. Idk who the hell you think you are or if you think you know me. But i never implied that it was gonna be easy. Don't friggn' tell me how shit's gonna be. And don't disrespect my gf in such a filthy manner. Fuckin punk.

  • @streetbiker8 wow u havent even earned the right to be called recruit yet until u get off that bus to MCRD and actually set foot onto the same spot where many marines have already been... if u really cant take a comment like that then wow... ur really not gonna make it in the marine corps... JODI IS GONNA BANG UR GIRL WHILE UR ON DEPLOYMENT! The sooner u accept that the sooner u realize u are really in a world of shit lol but its okay haha... its all good... LIFE IS GOOD!

  • @JustAnotherOne1 Look if your a Marine or not i really don't give a fuck. You act as if your still a child. If you were really a Marine you would show Respect. Marine or not your a shit bag son. :) good day.

  • @streetbiker8 yo JODI IS GONNA GET HER! LOL!!!

  • i can't wait to be in the Marines den Force Recon

  • General Hummel reminds me of real life, General McChrystal - who got sacked because he disagreed with Obama's views...says alot, doesn't it?

  • @1XMarksSpot IT SURE DOES! Leave the war to the people who KNOW what they are talking about & how to WIN. Those with EXPERIENCE in combat. NOT to the "wanna be" no NOTHING politicians. ALL they do is get us KILLED!!

  • @1zesty1 I am in the UK SAS, thats why I love Sean Connery in this movie, are you in the marine or SEALs or something? agree to the politicians btw

  • @tokrun412 SBS*

  • @tokrun412 I serve in the Marine Corps (28 yrs). UK SAS is an awesome organization to be with. Koodos. Sean Connery is an outstanding actor. He's been a favorite of mine for many years. Most politicians do NOT know the severe consequences of the decisions they make until AFTER so many of us have paid the ultimate price. Unfortunately, NONE of those who DID pay that price were "immediately related" (i.e., son/daughter, spouse, etc.). to the military action. They keep them safe at home,

  • @1zesty1 But i am not in the SAS, i was in the royal army and at the end of your service there, you will be promoted to SBS, SAS or SRR, I joined the SBS, since the SAS are at air, mostly, the SBS (Special Boat Service) , are like US marines, what rank are you soldier? you have taken the officer class? In UK, you will be in training for 6 months, then you will be promoted to first class private for 6 months, then you'll be lance corporal

  • @tokrun412 The advancement structure is basically the same here for enlisted Marines. Althought the minimum wait time here to become an E-3 is 9 months. In addition to possesing the minimum score you will need to become eligible. I began my career as an enlisted Marine. While doing so, I also went to college, got my advanced education (degree). After my graduation, I then received my commission and became an officer. Now 28 yrs later, I am a SENIOR OFFICER in the U.S. Marine Corps.

  • @tokrun412 If it were possible, I would like to have the opportunity to serve in the UK Forces. I understand that their discipline is "Top-Notch", and the training & duties are excellent. Lateral moves are allowed in the US from one military branch to another. Too bad that does not apply from country to country as well. I wish you the very best in your military career & in life. May you achieve all of your goals soldier. SEMPER FI!

  • @1zesty1 But, to be honest, the US soldiers is a bit "spoiled" from UK, using more expensive weapons and so.. But, are you Senior Warrant Officer or something, what weapon are you using in drills by the way?

  • @tokrun412 Just because the US spends a larger amount of finances for its military does not mean that the military personnel are "spoiled". Just better prepared for combat. Miltary personnel in the US are trained with multiple types of weapons for war. Marines are trained with mutiple types of combat arms, as well as how to utilize their own body as a weapon for close quarters ("hand to hand") combat. Marines initial training is 3 months. Longer than ANY other military branch in the US.

  • @1zesty1 But what are your rank/grade? : )

  • @1zesty1 dont forget that Marine Corps OCS is 6 MONTHS!

  • @starcraft2zergfan Incorrect. The OCS (Officer CANDIDATE School) candidates training varies upon WHEN you go. College Sophmores & Juniors attend TWO (2) six week training sessions. Seniors & college graduates attend a SINGLE ten week training session. OCS is for the INITIAL training (Boot Camp) ONLY. After that, you are commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the USMC.

  • @starcraft2zergfan AFTER each Officer CANDIDATE has received his/her commission upon SUCCESSFUL completion of OCS (Boot Camp) and has taken and accepted his/her Oath of Office, is he/she then sent to the BASIC SCHOOL in Quantico, Virginia for six months for ADVANCED Officer training. The Basic School is NOT OCS. OCS refers to BOOT CAMP ONLY. The BASIC SCHOOL is ADVANCED Officer training AFTER the completion of OCS.

  • @1zesty1 3 months may be longer than other US branches, but it's not that long. I know security guards who do longer than 3 months training. I expected a lot longer.

  • @aleronstube If in reference to ADVANCED training for MILITARY personnel, that is very well possible, if referring to military police (MP). Unless you were referring to the Marine Security Guard force, which would be correct. However, if referring to "civilian" security guards, "civilian" security guards DON'T guard and protect the President of the United States. Also, security guards are NOT trained for war, nor go to war. Their duty is here. MILITARY serve abroad and DO go to war.

  • @1zesty1 I was talking about civilian security guards. Regardless of who and what they protect, they still have more training and therefore more experience. I’m surprised at how little training your military gets compared to civilian circles.

  • @aleronstube What are you smoking, Kid? Whatever it is get off it. I know for a fact that the Rent-a-cops DO NOT get more training than the Military, If they did then they'd be sending them out instead to the wars.

Judging by your statement you have no idea what you're talking about.

Stop playing Call of Duty and get REAL facts, REAL information.

To avoid further proving of your stupidity I suggest not posting anymore comments.

  • @WJFuntingworthIII Before starting a flame war, try reading the previous comments. The previous poster stated that they get 3 months training, which is LESS than some security guards. I know for a FACT that some foreign security guards are better trained than the US marines. My friend works as a security guard for a major weapons company and has better CQC and firearms training, and was able to successfully demonstrate this in a training exercise.

  • @aleronstube What about you? Do you know first hand or are you..just going off what some guy told you?

  • @WJFuntingworthIII First hand.

  • @aleronstube Good, There are some Private Security Corps who have extensive training, But regular Security - no.

  • @aleronstube Basic training is not the only training Marines get nor any Armed forces for that matter. Active duty means you live that life, everyday you get the chance and the priveledge to train and retrain on the life saving oppurtunaties and skills that you first learn in basic training. Thats why basic training is called just that Basic. no one is expected to do what we expect Marines to do when they have not had anything but basic training.

  • @kevenders I know that. However I stated their basic training was not as good as others get.

  • 3:07! THAT WHOLE SCENE IS RAW! AND THEN AT THE END HE PUTS THE MEDAL OF HONOR ON THE TOMBSTONE!

  • there not comming for us are they sir

    my heart dropped

  • @hydrokido Typical response from a government who keeps their own family members safe at home, while sending us into harms way to do their "dirty" work. Happens ALL of the time. Been there. Done that.

  • I just love the look in Ed Harris' eyes @ 2:18. So desperate & committed. I truly admire the theme song as well. Damn, the whole movie is awesome! Michael Bay is the man I can count on if it comes to great pieces of video entertainment. :)

  • he plays so JARHEAD here,, and as well in all the right stuff.. is he jarhead or NO?

  • The guy has so many medals he look like a christmas tree

  • @762full It is called "VALOR".
