She had 2 more top 20 hits as well. This is from her 2nd second pop album called Back To Scratch, but the single peaked at 200 and the album only peaked at 23 :( So no, she's not really big here anymore which is a shame as both albums (especially the second) are brilliant!

She always has to say in videos that she still has her big opera voice, but what do we always hear? POP. She obviously has no intention in singing opera again and she is getting too old to re-learn everything. She threw away a lot.

It's good to see her back. I'm not wild about this song, but some of the other songs on this album (especially "Where Did All the Actors Go?") are great. And more importantly, she looks so happy and relaxed. It's nice to see her becoming comfortable in her own skin.

If you take a listen to some of her other songs from this album, she sings in her head voice/higher register. But right now she's singing songs that best suit her voice where it is right now at this point in time, which I think is the best route for her to take. She's said she wants to get back to classical music and be trained in that area once more; but she would have ruined her voice had she gone from not singing for a few years to suddenly singing classical songs in such high registers.
@KiraAdzior I suppose you could say something similar happened, but Julie had surgery on her throat in 1997 which left her unable to sing. Her first singing performance after her surgery was in The Princess Diaries 2 in 2004, 7 years afterwards. Charlotte took time off to raise her children; resuming her career after fully recovering from Dexter's birth and after her children had grown a little.
so glad she decided to go to pop! I like it so much better in her voice! Also, I feel you can express your true emotions in everyday language like this. Sometimes, it's hard to act to music that is hard to relate to, like opera (although i love opera).
She shouldn't have taken so much time away from the music industry to focus on her short-lived relationship with rubgy bf. Also, all that baby-having has taken a bad toll on her body. Even those that I have named all have different types of voice. Charlotte has a big belting voice with a slow but strong vibrato and a pretty sweet pop head voice that she uses pretty often unlike most of the other pop singers. I'm not an expert though, so I could be wrong :S
I actually like this song, and video, and I don't listen to very much music out there nowadays because I think most of it is crap. I was a big fan of Charlotte since the beginning and even though I usually don't like her "non-opera" pop voice, the REAL shame here is that she has had two kids with no commitment from her boyfriend and now they are not together anymore.

The song itself is catchy after a while, the video however, well I don't understand the symbolism of it as it relates to the song, its all a bit confusing and disorienting, but perhaps that is the point. I was a big fan of her classical music. I just received my copy of the new album today. Wasn't sold here in the US so had it shipped from Germany. Haven't listened yet, but from what I have heard so far the melodies are eccentric and quirky and lyrics are more mature, which all suits me fine.
i really love this song, her voice and the video. such a shame ppl are so obsessed with hits-by-numbers from rihanna and co.

If for you a whore is someone very sexually explicit in her attitude, her lyrics, her dancing and in the way she acts in her everyday life, then I'd say never

In what way does she sound like Rihanna, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Pink, Natasha Bedingfield, Cheryl Cole or any of the others that I could name? Even those that I have named all have different types of voice. Charlotte has a big belting voice with a slow but strong vibrato and a pretty sweet pop head voice that she uses pretty often unlike most of the other pop singers. I'm not an expert though, so I could be wrong :S

I actually like this song, and video, and I don't listen to very much music out there nowadays because I think most of it is crap. I was a big fan of Charlotte since the beginning and even though I usually don't like her "non-opera" pop voice, the REAL shame here is that she has had two kids with no commitment from her boyfriend and now they are not together anymore.

It's a good video and song. Nothing compared to previous classical works, but it's a shame that audiences can be so bastard to describe this as 'the worst thing they've ever heard' I mean, If you don't like it, that's fine but please RESPECT! Maybe I will no be buying any of her new albums, unless I like one of the other songs which I haven't heard yet, but will be likely buying something classical from her.

@Fuliginosus I recently saw an interview where she was saying that she would like to go back to it someday, but it's not for now and she would also like to have a real proper classical training this time, so she could try to play in a real opera. The guy asked her wich role she would like to play and she said La Boheme. I can't find the interview though (wich I found the first time with google video and not on youtube) but I found an article about it.

I didn't even recognize her or her voice at first! It's even more different than her Tissues and Issues album. Why such heavy eye makeup??? She has such beautiful eyes, it only does her a disservis, in my opinion.

Uck....I liked her classic stuff. I am all about artists re-inventing themselves but she sounds awful, she doesn't seem natural in this genre, it feels so forced. I was hoping she'd grow into a Sarah Brightman-like figure...There's enough crappy pop singers in the world we don't need another. Her classic, yet still fresh sound made her unique.

Her managers are in charge of her image and they are changing her to be like all the rest of the so-called singers. I don't like the way they have her eyes so heavily made up. Charlotte is beautiful and would look better with less make-up IMHO.

The song itself is catchy after a while, the video however, well I don't understand the symbolism of it as it relates to the song, its all a bit confusing and disorienting, but perhaps that is the point. I was a big fan of her classical music. I just received my copy of the new album today. Wasn't sold here in the US so had it shipped from Germany. Haven't listened yet, but from what I have heard so far the melodies are eccentric and quirky and lyrics are more mature, which all suits me fine.
