  • Im looking for an average MR2, doesn't have to be in 100% great condition in Kentucky. Found an 87 MR2 in really good exterior and interior condition for $2000, but found out the sycronizer was out of 5th gear, and it's not worth putting a tranny in it and paying that kind of money. I'm looking for one under 160k miles, any generation MR2, I'd actually prefer a N/A model

  • @eclipsegsx765 definatly, mk2's are the business. and the few things that can go wrong with them (water drip onto alternator, oxygen senser) can be fixed easily :P

  • MR2 series 2, is the nuts. And the Turbo is the beast of the series. A real drivers car, no doubt. In terms of Price per secs to sixty (lets call it PPSTS), you'll find it almost impossible to find a better ratio. Add reliability to the mix and only the Evo stays in the mix. The faster and (to be honest) better handling Evo is in my opinion - as attractive Shane MacGowan after a bad night out having forgotten to brush his teeth (or tooth), while the 2 could have been designed Modena.

  • i find this baffling i recently changed my clutch on my mr2 turbo and suddenly it does not pull off well and it lacks the torque it once had, help any one, i was told because i replaced a performane clutch with a standard one, or it not been bleed, help any one

  • You replaced a performance clutch with a stock one? The stock clutch is only really good for about 200rwkw. Mine's slipping with 170rwkw but it's got 130'000kms on the clock as well.

  • Before i replaced my clutch i had a lot of torque, and now it lacks torque and the pull off feels restricted, turbo or clutch? i am replacing it with a hks 3 piece performance clutch and a new hybrid turbo.

  • your right about one thing the wheels could bebetter. but your wrong about the intake scoop. the one on the right scoops air and sends it to the turbo intercooler, and the one on the left does the same for the intake. thats why there are side vents on both sides of the car.

  • It's a lot easier to get more power out of the 3SGTE than the 5SFE because of the turbo. Stock boost is normally 8-12psi, but, with minor modifications, you can safely run 15psi. Each pound adds 8-10hp. A good exhaust such as the TKO will give another ~25hp.

  • Cool. I kind of figured that the 3SGTE would be easier to get more power from. I just bought my MR2 a couple days ago, and I must say, it's the funnest car I've ever driven! Cheers to all the MR2 owners out there!

  • i just bought a '91 and its overheating. this is a common issue apparently with the earlier year ones. So i would go with a 94 or something.

  • no my 93 overheats also my coolent over flows and leaks. also you might have a bad water pump i did and now it runs fine

  • Toyota makes shit for cars now. They used to make 2 amazing cars and 1 okay car. My favorite the MR2 best years 1989-1999, Toyota Supra, and the okay one is the Celica but i don't care for it that much. Now people say the piece of shit concept car that doesn't look like shit to a supra is supposedly a supra in retards minds... its not like the GTR where it has the same design schemes.

  • I think Lambo must have put theirs through like a wind tunnel and set the engine bay up to take in air that way. The MR2 is designed to get its air from underneath, Border racing in Japan are against the scoops as they say it can cause air jam or something where the 2 forces end up neutralizing each other. Each to theyre own tho.

  • actually your not entirely right, i have one on the passengers side, it was designed for the n/a not the turbo to work with the toms induction box, it went straight to that so didnt mess up the air flow etc.

  • Wow what kind of HP you making? I know the 3Gen 3SGTE has 245 stock. Very impressive speed, good driving too, most people can't launch a car at all, you do it very well. Rock on!
