@saxmanchiro I have a CVTech clutch set. The clutch does not release when you roll the throttle off it just engine brakes. Diesel don't engine brake really well do to the lack of a throttle plate. So it is not a sudden slowing just nice and progressive
@kitplanesolutions Great! I'd love to see more large-displacement 100+ mpg bikes around. There are lots of 100+ mpg small bikes out there, but they are just puny.
Great Job! Would love to see you compete with a bunch of guys in the "Racing for the right reason" competitions. Where Craig Vetter has sponsored several fuel mileage races over a designated course and see who finishes with the least amount of fuel used! Hope to see you at one! Craig Vetter dot com
Why did you hard tail this bike as well as the other two singles? Was it to strengthen the frame to accept the heavier diesel engines without adding weight?

you did a supper job on that bike you should be very proud of it and proud to drive it it is just as nice or nicer then any 20.000 dollar harly davidson i would like to know the place you got the cvt trans there web sit or phone number i am building a bike a would like the same cvt you got and the size of sprocets you used thanks
@norwalkzozo This is a 20 hp vtwin diesel 12 teeth on the front and 60 on the back both #50 industrial sprockets. I bought my clutch from the factory through a special education program. Ther are CVTech dealsers in the States just google them. My clutch is not ideal as it has to much overdrive (.45) and never fully shifts but the price was right. I also broke the 3/4" jackshaft which I bored and broched out to 1" We will have a second one on the road this year also built in my shop class
@kitplanesolutions Did you guys also do a single cylinder using a Kikker Hardknock frame. I am very interested in buying either one, please message me. I have an old CZ that I put a 6.5hp engine.
@Scootertuner1000 Yes we did build two single cylinder bikes. One was called a kikker but we made the frame we still have the bike at the school and use it for display and demos
@kitplanesolutions how about auctioning one of the singles on e-bay with the proceeds going to the engineering shop at the school. That would be a good way to get funds for the next project and get these obviously very talented kids some recognition.
Was this done with the kids in shop class? I think you all did a wonderful job. A great project to show how one can be economical and have fun at the same time. Congratulations!!
@kitplanesolutions Where did you get the engine and transmission from? I found a Chinese website that sells the engines, but I would rather buy from an American company if I have the option.
@cushy4 Try A1biofuelnet. They sell Winsun engines it is hard to tell who really builds what thaey could all be the same. We bought three engines from the factory in China and did our own import. When the dust settled we had $1200 in to each engine. There was nobody in Canada that imports the engine alone just full gen sets
@seamusriddle The 20hp Punsun's seem to reliable than the 22 and 25hp versions. I have over 1600 miles on mine an it is running fine. The best milage I have seen is 114mpg average is 95mpg. check out dieselbike . net
115mpg! Nice job...

Must be wierd with no clutch and gears to slow you down. How do you feel coasting with the comet CVT?

What about throttle response?
nchurmdazz 2 weeks ago
@nchurmdazz Not bad the CVT helps by letting the engine run at peak torque at anything past 15mph

That's cool, but how do you deal with the engine/transmission parts sticking out like that? No fear of burning your leg or ripping your pants?
stopglobalswarming 1 month ago
@stopglobalswarming Your legs never come near anything hot or moving there are safety covers on the moving bits and header wrap on the hot things

if your worried about ripping your pants or burning your leg riding a bike isnt for you
