You have to alternate between ride & crash during the blast parts to get the wall of sound effect Mick got.

@MutedChord You're absolutely correct, sir: alternate between the crash and ride.
That's why 100% of the drummers playing "blast beats" nowadays sound utterly weak.
It's supposed to be an overwhelming wall of noise, not simply a fast drum beat. Who can't learn
to play the drums quickly? I haven't seen a Napalm Death cover yet that does it the way Mick Harris did it.
