Iraq hasn't don't much for the Kurds, but Kurds haven't really been a part of Iraq, but for 70 years or so. The British gave Israel a state, but were greedy, so they made some Kurds join into the state of Iraq to join oil wells. I think the Kurds 'deserve' their own country (Turkey would disagree) if anything makes sense in the Belfour Declaration. I'm not against Israel by any means, but Kurds in Northern Iraq are hardly kept from attacking Turkey's military, either.

Don't listen to anyone about any of this. As of now no public knows what the plan is for Iraq. Obama wants to focus in Afghanistan, but heaven knows if he's going to leave Iraq or not to do it. I'm a soldier, twice deployed to Iraq. Even from my perspective it's been a horrible waste of time and lives, Iraq was never the problem. We're not fighting militaries or regimes, we're fighting rebels. Who'se cause only exists because we're there. Mccain doesn't even know the damn difference.

My dad has also been a kurdish soldier in the past- But if your troops leave iraq wouldnt that lead with the iraqis even rebbeling more? the kurds would not be able to get their independance with iraqis have wars between shia and sunni (kurds are also sunni) and the assyrians will be in big trouble even now they have had 41 monostaries and churches bombed by arabs if U.S leaves who knows what would happen to them

If Bush has an agreement in place, to withdraw all troops by ... 2011, like the Iraqi's want, then that's what will happen. Obama will cut and run, that's what he does. Iraq hasn't don't much for the Kurds, but Kurds haven't really been a part of Iraq, but for 70 years or so. The British gave Israel a state, but were greedy, so they made some Kurds join into the state of Iraq to join oil wells. I think the Kurds 'deserve' their own country (Turkey would disagree) if anything makes sense in the Belfour Declaration. I'm not against Israel by any means, but Kurds in Northern Iraq are hardly kept from attacking Turkey's military, either.
