wonderful! there are 4 universities and hundreds of students for this kind of singing! that is so wonderful! this is not a dying ancient art, it is a tradition that they keep and continue. good for them! *clap*
i never get tired of hearing this beautiful music. it reminds me of open spaces and the beauty of mother nature, traditions of good people and thier cultures, His voice says it all......, I am a proud man, and feel honered to give you this age old song,, a song from our ancestry.
I love native music, music that hasn't been brought over from or affected by the west: Celtic, Mongolian, Tuvan, anything that makes a beautiful sound and isn't nasal like a Frenchman.
Great vid, man. Thanks a lot. Just would add : "kind of guitar" would not be the best word for the morin huur, this is more a kind of cello or violin, say, you need a bow to play it...
Magical music.... I always found in the simplicity of the ancients music, the choirs and sounds...pure magic! Like the Tibetan Monks, the didgeridoo sound, the Gregorian Chants... something that fill you; more than any actual or classical music.
Only found this type of music tonight and I'm astounded! You want feedback? Amazing, got to find more! Can anyone point me in the right direction to get some CD's? I'd like to try it to, though I can only seem to do the low bits..
Hey man, i wanna thank you for making this kinda film to show about Mongolia and its music as well as culture. I'm from Mongolia, now studying abroad. I was born in countryside like a nomad, so i know many things about Mongolia and its history,. culture..., well, good luck for your further work!
The guy who was playing! He wrote it down "Mongolian Railway Ensemble, throat singer." But I filmed him at Tumen Ekh Ensemble, so I assumed they were the same thing...
these guys performed at mt school today... they were amazing!!!!
