I appreciate that you're trying to put your own flair on the song but that fact that everything was played at one dynamic level and the cymbal height/stick grip made it look a little awkward. Keep practicing and you'll get better and better, but I would also recommend that you spend some time learning different rudiments and accents to improve your playing. Why do you hold your sticks like that? I've never seen any drummer hold their sticks by the middle...usually at the fulcrum.

Is it easier for you, is it more comfortable for you...why do you hold them like that?
