Well those unfamiliar with the Tebow story should know that doctors told her that there was a good chance neither her nor her child would survive a natural childbirth and suggested an early term abortion . Call what happened a miracle, but if many women go down this same route of ignoring the possibility of birth complications it endangers both the mother and child.

Doctors are trained to warn their patients of the worst case scenario while expecting/working toward the best. They're human; they can be wrong. Birth complications can happen even in an uneventful pregnancy. That doesn't mean mom should abort her child because it is a possibility. Every time we get in our cars, there is the possibility of a fatal crash, but yet we take that chance every day, and think nothing of it.

Why does the fact that CBS has the right to restrict ads keep coming up as an argument against this ad? Shouldn't the fact that they have every right to control what goes on the air be a huge point in favor of them choosing to allow the ad to run? i think what the Tebows are trying to do is move the debate from whether or not the law can dictate what a woman can do with her own body to talking about the fact that not just one but two lives (leaving the "when life actually begins" debate to another time) that are affected by the decision of whether or not to have an abortion. Why should it run during the Super Bowl? Well, the Super Bowl is the most watched program of the year. You want people to see your message, why not put it where the maximum number of people are likely to see it? It's a reasonable move from an advertising perspective.
