first off i agree in freedom of speech and the add being able to be on, but yoest is only strongly supporting this for her own political agenda obviously. I could see her debating to cancel putting a add on that was pro-choice or another subject she didnt agree with. She would not support "free speech" like she said for something she didnt believe in
These NOW pro-aborts (lets face it they arent pro choice) anyway why are they all for choice unless you choose life! Sounds fishy to me! GO CHARMAINE!
@Bolgernow, perhaps - just perhaps - the folks who are watching the SuperBowl are not an audience interested in being offered a "gay dating service" to help them hook up for gay sex.
But they might be an ideal audience to see an ad showing how to save the life of your baby, and have the gigantic potential in each human life brought into focus by the fact that the baby that was saved ended up being a world-class football player just like the ones in the Super Bowl they are currently watching.
If more women made the decision that Tebow's mom made it would not lead us to "understand the infinite possibility of life" Why? Well those unfamiliar with the Tebow story should know that doctors told her that there was a good chance neither her nor her child would survive a natural childbirth and suggested an early term abortion . Call what happened a miracle, but if many women go down this same route of ignoring the possibility of birth complications it endangers both the mother and child.
Doctors are trained to warn their patients of the worst case scenario while expecting/working toward the best. They're human; they can be wrong. Birth complications can happen even in an uneventful pregnancy. That doesn't mean mom should abort her child because it is a possibility. Every time we get in our cars, there is the possibility of a fatal crash, but yet we take that chance every day, and think nothing of it.
The Constitution does guarantee the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Should that not also include the most helpless and innocent among us - the unborn?
These hosts have no idea what they are talking about. If you want this ad pulled, who is stopping people from calling for MSNBC to pull their ads. YOU WILL BE KILLING YOUR OWN BUSINESS MORON.
David Schuster (Scheister?) is obviously biased. Apparently he wants to keep his right to get women pregnant and not have any consequences. Come on David... YOU are the one arguing it's political and you have not even seen the commercial. YOU ARE AN IDIOT. This is FREE SPEECH. What is N.O.W. so worried about??? Let me ask N.O.W. this question: It's ok to have women in bikinis and promoting sex... demeaning women... but NOT ok to talk about a woman who CHOSE to give life??? Wow!!!!
I noticed that too Lecravian. And also how they put her picture on the bottom. Even so, I think Dr. Yoest conducted herself very well despite the obvious bias against pro-life.
Why NOT air it during the Super Bowl? You have a message that you want to be heard, so why not air it the one time of the year when everyone will be paying attention to the commercials?
I don't have a clue what Kraft Singles has to do with this discussion, unless the MSNBC host and the representative from NOW are in this category! THEY don't "GET IT"! Charmaine kept her cool and stayed on message! Hooray for her and hooray for CBS! Why NOT the Super Bowl?
If NOW wanted to try and make their "case" they should have picked someone other than the 20-year-old who didn't even look sure of what she was talking about....since when did commercials aired during the Super Bowl have to be about football??? I guess I wasn't aware that commericals for car insurance, stock trading and toilet paper were football-related......hahaha
Why does the fact that CBS has the right to restrict ads keep coming up as an argument against this ad? Shouldn't the fact that they have every right to control what goes on the air be a huge point in favor of them choosing to allow the ad to run? The NOW idiot seems to be insisting that CBS has the responsibility to prevent this ad from being run, when in fact, they have complete freedom to choose whether or not it is run.
Oh yeah, and the MSNBC announcer was an idiot, very rude!
I really cannot believe how rude the news announcer was. As for Dr Yoest, You did a great job keeping your cool, I think I would have lost it with the idiot announcer. i think what the Tebows are trying to do is move the debate from whether or not the law can dictate what a woman can do with her own body to talking about the fact that not just one but two lives (leaving the "when life actually begins" debate to another time) that are affected by the decision of whether or not to have an abortion. I agree with NOW in that i believe the gov't has no place in this debate. i disagree, however, that abortion is a guaranteed RIGHT of women. and yes i am a woman.
Who's nervous? I have relatives that have had abortions and I thank God each and everytime someone speaks out against it, because they have had nothing but problems since. FIGHT ON, Tebow

Ok the Superbowl is marketed mostly to18-40 yr old men. The ads are almost about beer and stuff. How in the hell does it make sense to have pro life or pro choice ad? I'm not calling for censorship, I'm just thinking they should advertise in a more appropriate place for their own means.
Is it an appropriate place to advertise condoms and how about news programs that children are encouraged to watch??? How do I explain these things? Alot of women and children do still watch sports programs, although most of the ads offend me, I'm not saying they can't show them!
This ad doesn't offend me. I'm just saying it's basically a waste of advertising dollars to put it on the Super Bowl. There are better places to put that message where people would actually pay attention to it. That's all I was saying.
The point is that Tim Tebow as a male is showing what he believes is an issue men should be involved in. Tim Tebow (although he appeals to women for many reasons) appeals to many men and this is the greatest venue for that. Almost every man in the US watches this lol. And keep in mind, there are quite a number of women that watch as well.
Why should men be involved in a health problem that they don't face? It's like a man telling women they shouldn't get surgery if they have uterine cancer...
But again that digresses from my real point, that not many people watching the game are going to give any attention to the ad.
What an ignorant statement! Firstly, you should be thankful fpr all of the men involved in women's health problems, from the medical researchers to the doctors to the friends and family members who support the women who must face difficult health problems such as uterine and breast cancer.
Secondly, it takes a MAN to make a baby in the first place, so he should be involved with the child from the start.
@PeTrAbEaN890 If by "a more appropriate place for their own means" you mean a channel or TV show only watched by Pro Life individuals, you are missing the marketing strategy. That would be like Apple only running ads in their corporate offices. The point is to target an audience. When millions of Americans are known to gather around a TV for 3+ hours, why wouldn't someone choose to capitalize on that? And yes, 18-40 yr old men are just as involved in the process leading to the choice at hand.
It's okay to have the beer chat with your kids and the scantily clad women chat, but what we're outraged about is an ad about a mom having a son and that son being successful. Is this a joke? This is flat out insanity. How much lsd and meth are people taking this day and age? If Tebow's ad can't run, then no ad should run. Run your own ad and stop trying to take away people's rights to free speech. If a lib wants to speak about gays, they can parade around, but no body else has free speech. Bull
play the ad! have a counter-ad if you want, but it's good business for them to accept it, and its a business just like any other that can't discriminate with its customers.
Uh, really? What do slutty cheerleaders have to do with football? What does alcohol flowing freely have to do with football? What do scantily-clad women have to do with football? It should be a safe family activity to sit down with your entire family to watch a football game, or to go to the stadium with your entire family. Sadly and ridiculously, it's not! Those playing the game as well as those who watch it are only able to do so because of LIFE! So, this ad is exceedingly significant
No matter what women are still going to get abortions. If they don't have the appropriate means they are just going to fall down some stairs or pull out a rusty coat hanger. Well if you want everyone to have all these babies, then you should also be ok with your taxes going up so the government can help take care of all the children that will go under state care or all the women that would be pushed under the poverty line because of the burden of raising a child.
I wouldn't call him the greatest ever, but whatever. You could say that about anybody really. His mom didn't get an abortion so Bob became the best janitor ever. Her mom didn't get an abortion so Janet became the greatest crack whore ever!
I would much rather have the abortion debate with my 6 year old than the why it's degrading to women to be portrayed as hookers debate which is what MOST of the super bowl ads are used for. Why isn't NOW worried about that?
To me it was obvious that the reporters wanted to support the NOW position instead of Dr. Charmaine Yoest 's PRO-LIFE Position. Thank you Dr. Yoest for your commitment to LIFE. God Bless You and for all whose CHOICE is LIFE over murder!
Way to go Charmaine! Erin - get a life (non pun intended). It's about right to express what you believe in and freedom of speech! OK, it's alright to show women's breast; people grinding each other during halftime. They want 2 know why during a football game? IT'S ABOUT TEBOW! Hello?
Yes! Please overturn Roe v Wade. Abortion is worst holocaust in the history of mankind and Roe v Wade legalized it here in the U.S. 50 million and counting murdered "legally" in the U.S. since Roe v Wade. Tim Tebow and his message are exactly what Super Bowl viewers need to see - what better place to display a wonderful, courageous story of life for the largest number of people to see? Keep up the good work Tim Tebow and God Bless!!! (and that's coming from a Buckeye fan!)
what is wrong with having a talk with your six year old about the sanctity of life? sexual and drinking ads are shown, is that appropriate for six year olds? i think not

He's a sitting duck, reveal this worldwide to everyone even the furthest reaches and make it known perfectly clearly
What idiots at NOW - the commercial is going to be aired during the Superbowl because Tebow is a FOOTBALL player. There IS a correlation and it's absurd that the NOW people can't see that.
So proud of Tim and his family and so pissed at generalizations about "no one wants to have this conversation with their 6-yr. olds." Maybe, just maybe, if we had more conversations about abortion with our 6 yr. olds, we'd be a more moral nation. What child is going to appreciate that their mom had the choice to kill them before they were born? Six year olds have better ethics than NOW.
6 year old my foot! Where was the outrage for the beer commercials, Carl's Jr. and other sexually charged ads, or the half-time show fiasco? The 1st Amendment still stands and if you have the money to buy an ad and it's "tastefully done", go for it. Proud of Ted and Focus on the Family. NOW cares nothing for families...
lesclar55 .. They are upset about a abortion video showing on superbowl and how it will affect 6 yr old kids... but it is ok to have superbowl commercials loaded with sex appeal ... showed year after year....now i ask you what does that have to do with football? I fully support Tim Tebow and his mother....
since when is anyone worried about ad on the SuperBowl and how it effects 6 year olds? I've been watching half naked women, beer commericials for years!
People like the NOW lady AND Shuster wouldnt be saying squat if if CBS was airing a Pro-Abortion (AKA Pro-Choice) add instead. That is the true hypocracy of Liberals, they believe in Human Rights unless you disagree with them and then they immediatley try to manipulate or eliminate the 1st Amendment to meet thier own agenda.
Well, Shuster seems like an ass. You put an ad on during the Super Bowl because it has such high ratings. As far as it being political or not, it isn't any of your business.
Abortionists are all about stifling fairness. They seem to think everything must be framed in such a way as to ensure they have a possibility of victory. How is any one supposed to help an untenable position have equal standing in a debate without descending into sub-human levels? They are dangerous bozos.
Do you think NOW will protest about all of the commercials with half dressed women being used as sexual objects? Doubt it. Tim Tebow simply wants the freedom to share his story about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness....what's more American than that?

if 'six year old children' is such a 'concern' - chuck the plasma out the window! such blatant ignorance on display here. if you have something to say, SAY IT!! it's pathetic to hide around children whom you so want dead
2 million for a Super Bowl ad? Damn, the economy really is bad. Those ads are typically between 5 and 10 million.
Why should it run during the Super Bowl? Well, the Super Bowl is the most watched program of the year. You want people to see your message, why not put it where the maximum number of people are likely to see it? It's a reasonable move from an advertising perspective.
To me, it seems doubly-absurd to consider that a N.O.W. spokeswoman used the mere justification of "think of the children" as a basis to restrict freedom of speech.
David Schuster is a true "wing nut" being suspended, fired or reprimanded so many times he should go in politics were he would be in jeopardy of being fired only every 2 years.
This issue is a matter of free speech. If someone has $2.5 million they can buy a 30 sec. spot as well. Let N.O.W. pony up a few bucks and run their ad. OPPS, that would never happen because they may have to watch a sports program that features men.
If N.O.W. doesn't like the ad, run their own ad. As far as having to explain the abortion issue to a child, N.O.W. women don't need to worry because you must have children first.
What an advocate for abortion! I refer to the advocates on the "news" outlet peoples.
"It's a football game," David says. The female interviewer states that it's inappropriate for "six year olds" watching the game. Then why not protest the alcohol adds selling with sex.
The "choice" side never has been able to make a substantial argument for killing babies.
Cant believe we are having this debate......to not murder the innocent...wow

Dr. Yoest is being disingenuous here. She asks, "Why can't NOW raise enough $ to put their own ad out there?"
That's the entire issue here. CBS allowed the "pro-life spot", but pulled & rejected a "gay dating spot"...
Which is it CBS? Did you "change your policy by now accepting commercials that advocate political causes" or not?
By allowing one & not the other, CBS has a fairness policy issue here...

Tim Tebow (although he appeals to women for many reasons) appeals to many men and this is the greatest venue for that. Almost every man in the US watches this lol. And keep in mind, there are quite a number of women that watch as well.
Melimo 2 years ago 5
Why should men be involved in a health problem that they don't face? It's like a man telling women they shouldn't get surgery if they have uterine cancer...
But again that digresses from my real point, that not many people watching the game are going to give any attention to the ad.
PeTrAbEaN890 2 years ago
Give me a break! Men are totally involved!
GinKirk7256 2 years ago
Why should they be though?
PeTrAbEaN890 2 years ago
What an ignorant statement! Firstly, you should be thankful fpr all of the men involved in women's health problems, from the medical researchers to the doctors to the friends and family members who support the women who must face difficult health problems such as uterine and breast cancer.
Secondly, it takes a MAN to make a baby in the first place, so he should be involved with the child from the start.
momsgot5 2 years ago

Bull

play the ad! have a counter-ad if you want, but it's good business for them to accept it, and its a business just like any other that can't discriminate with its customers.
drumaboy590 2 years ago 2

NOW/Planned Parenthood is simply in business to make money on abortions. Outrage? What are they afraid of?? For people to know the truth?
Minuteman351 2 years ago 4

PeTrAbEaN890 2 years ago
I would much rather have the abortion debate with my 6 year old than the why it's degrading to women to be portrayed as hookers debate which is what MOST of the super bowl ads are used for. Why isn't NOW worried about that?
lcww1 2 years ago 5
To me it was obvious that the reporters wanted to support the NOW position instead of Dr. Charmaine Yoest 's PRO-LIFE Position. Thank you Dr. Yoest for your commitment to LIFE. God Bless You and for all whose CHOICE is LIFE over murder!

Gruenders 2 years ago 5

I think NOW needs to have an inspirational ad of a successful abortion. What could be more inspiring than eugenics and infanticide?
zorrosuave 2 years ago 6
What idiots at NOW - the commercial is going to be aired during the Superbowl because Tebow is a FOOTBALL player. There IS a correlation and it's absurd that the NOW people can't see that.
Luvtlee 2 years ago 4

RockitD 2 years ago 4
I agree 100 % with
lesclar55 ..

TheRigger74 2 years ago
Well, Shuster seems like an ass. You put an ad on during the Super Bowl because it has such high ratings. As far as it being political or not, it isn't any of your business.
Abortionists are all about stifling fairness. They seem to think everything must be framed in such a way as to ensure they have a possibility of victory. How is any one supposed to help an untenable position have equal standing in a debate without descending into sub-human levels? They are dangerous bozos.
Thisisnotmyrealname8 2 years ago 2
Do you think NOW will protest about all of the commercials with half dressed women being used as sexual objects? Doubt it. Tim Tebow simply wants the freedom to share his story about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness....what's more American than that?

stains00 2 years ago 3
2 million for a Super Bowl ad? Damn, the economy really is bad. Those ads are typically between 5 and 10 million.
Why should it run during the Super Bowl? Well, the Super Bowl is the most watched program of the year. You want people to see your message, why not put it where the maximum number of people are likely to see it? It's a reasonable move from an advertising perspective.
TheStranglehold 2 years ago 2
To me, it seems doubly-absurd to consider that a N.O.W. spokeswoman used the mere justification of "think of the children" as a basis to restrict freedom of speech.

David Schuster is a true "wing nut" being suspended, fired or reprimanded so many times he should go in politics were he would be in jeopardy of being fired only every 2 years.
This issue is a matter of free speech. If someone has $2.5 million they can buy a 30 sec. spot as well. Let N.O.W. pony up a few bucks and run their ad. OPPS, that would never happen because they may have to watch a sports program that features men.
phineastbuster 2 years ago 3
If N.O.W. doesn't like the ad, run their own ad. As far as having to explain the abortion issue to a child, N.O.W. women don't need to worry because you must have children first.
Cindi3847 2 years ago 2
What an advocate for abortion! I refer to the advocates on the "news" outlet peoples.
"It's a football game," David says. The female interviewer states that it's inappropriate for "six year olds" watching the game. Then why not protest the alcohol adds selling with sex.
The "choice" side never has been able to make a substantial argument for killing babies.
