I can appreciate what this man has to say having spent some time in Guatemala. However, friends from Peru, Nicaragua, Columbia and El Salvador offer another side to the story, rarely referenced by the radical left with an agenda. I do not know if Bourgeois is an unwitting tool, or an active agitator. I do know that Soviet, Chinese and Iranian influence in Central and South America threatens the U.S. Recount the history of Russian aid to Cuba to foment global violent revolution.

@AllanErickson1 Why does the US and it's needs rise to such a phenominally high standard above all others? You hear people in the media politics say again and again that what ever the topic is, is a threat to US interests. Personally I don't think American's needs should flaunt all others, especially those native to the country they're exploiting. The House voted to close the school (SOA) in 1999.

In Dec., 2000 the school closed.

In Jan., 2001 it reopened under the name WHINSEC.

The amendment to the defense appropriations bill which would have defunded the school was defeated by 6 votes in 2007.

35 of the representatives who voted against the 2007 amendment were defeated in Nov. 2008.

There is a much better chance to pass the bill to close WHINSEC in 2009!

I had the pleasure of listening to this man speak at a United Auto Workers conferance in  Detriot. As a union we support his efforts and he opened my eyes to this dispicable use of taxpayer money. What a discrace. The public should be outraged!

I'm not catholic, but I love mass, Thomas Merton, Pierre Tielhard de Chardin, Hildegard of Bingen, Dag Hammerskjold ... Father Roy is on my list of catholics who would rather see Christ expressed in the world than see Christ insulated in the church and it's doctrine.

This guy epitomizes what real moral leadership is about. When i was a kid our clergy frowned on any questions about current political affairs, and admonish us with the ole "give unto Caesar what is Caesars"line. I don't have religion now but a guy like this would almost bring me back.
