Now I finally know what it means to look back and say "ah the good ole' days". I was born in 1982 and I remember watching re-runs of this show on library video tapes in the late 80's and early 90's. My family was equally as tight-knit and as financially struggling but that never bothered us. No cable? We had video tapes from the public library. No money for going to the movies? We had public parks instead. My mom always had ways to make things work. Mr and Mrs Quimby have that skill. too. :)

EVERYBODY should grow up in the '80s and early '90s ^-^ They had the absolute BEST toys ever! ^-^ I think the essence of the '70s and '80s should be perpetually infused into everything, *always*! ^-^

Ooh this brings back memories. When I moved to Canada in 1997 we didn't have mainstream TV, so we rented these old episodes from the library. Lovely old show.

This show had such an innocence that's missing from today's tv shows. This show may seem corny by today's standards, but we need a bit of corny and innocence now, with all the violence and filth, even in kid shows. I fear how the kids today will grow up with what their watching. The shows they watch are making them materialistic, vain, shallow, and sadly dumb.

Wow, this is my childhood. This brought tears to my eyes. Anyone who grew up in the 80s/90s, we had the best kid shows. I didn't think anyone would remember Ramona, but me. I use to rent Ramona from the library, and watch it numerous times. I couldn't believe I remembered the credits and episode after 20 years. I like the fact that the kids were average looking kids, not perfectly beautiful like kids today. The kids on most of our kid shows were average looking and it made them more believeable

I always found Beezus to be very obnoxious. Why did she always have to take things out on her sister; yes little sibblings can be annoying, but so can OLDER ones, too! No one HAS to be annoying, that's just the way it tends to be for some reason. But the older one really needs to get over themselves and MAYBE the little one won't be so annoying, right? ;D

@genesisparadise I remember that Sarah was going to write and direct a semi-autobiographical movie about a girl on a childrens' TV show...

I remember Lori was on a few episodes of "Today's Special", and the woman who played Aunt Beatrice provided the voice of Zoicite in the English dub of "Sailor Moon". (Yeah, they had to make Zoicite a woman in the dub...)

Ya she made a great little ramona. pretty much just how i pictured her in the books. i saw the new movie trailer and it just doesnt have the right actors cast i think. like selena gomez as beezus? in my oppinion, it just wont work

@abbeybaron I agree that the casting doesn't look like it will be the same as it was on the show. After getting the Ramona haircut, Joey King looked more like her, so that's good, but Selena Gomez seems totally wrong. I like her as an actress, but just not for this role. But honestly, this movie is being made for a whole new generation of kids who are still reading the books in school and idolizing big teen stars like Selena, so those kids will probably like the casting choices.

@rosek102 If you watch the interview Selena Gomez had on The View recently you will see that they were following the BOOKS not the TV show, so in the books, Selena is better then the tv show casting.

@zebra9248 That could be true, but in the older versions of the books, the original illustrations of Beezus were more reflective of the actress they chose for the TV show...short hair, a little more awkward and plain, etc...However, the books were re-released a few years ago with brand-new illustrations, and the Beezus in those pictures looked a lot more like Selena, with the longer hair and everything. I guess it depends on what version of the books you have.
