True vodka came from Russia not Poland. In Poland they distilled wine which is different than making vodka, more like brandy.

vodka for me is the best hard alcohol in my opinion. I like it because I can drink it straight without a chaser and it goes down so smooth or I can mix it in with other drinks. Plus I love the numbness it causes me after drinking a 5th. Yummmm!!!

The only potato vodkas I can find on store shelves are made in the US. Do any other vodka producing countries even make vodka from potatoes?

@shuboy05 ... I just bought a delicious potato vodka from poland - named "Chopin". It was expensive, but I wanted to support polish people & I don't trust US-produced food unless I know it's non-GMO.

@Marleyites Forgot about Chopin. It's possibly the best known example of potato vodka (and the priciest). The US made potato vodkas often state whether they are made from organic potatoes so I highly doubt they have been genetically modified.

why do they call it ETHANOL. Its NOT ethanol, its alcohol. Ethanol is made when you denaturer alcohol
