@jinglybell1 Seaweed didn't cross the line. If you pay careful attention to the beginning of this song, you'll see that the girl he dances with was always on his side of the line. I thought this was a great attempt by the producers to show how ridiculous the "color line" was. It didn't matter how fair or light your skin was, but if you had any "Negro blood" (as it was called), then you were treated like one.
