The mightiest swords need not be the most "decorated". Excalibur, Gram, Kanshou and Bakuya, they may not have the exquisite decorations as seen on Caliburn, but their power is indisputable and they are truly beautiful blades as well.
Don't you guys think that the anime staff could've done a better job at portraying more exotic/ornate weapons in UBW? Surely, EMIYA may say those are some of the "finest" weapons in existence, but they rather look too average and nonstriking in contrast.
Not really, Hercules is in a one on one situation like this stronger than Archer. Archers strength comes from his wits, his ability to plan and the way he can adapt to any situation with his unlimited repertoire of weapons, much like Gil.

well that isn't 100% true well archer would fail in a state up fight if he were to have projected the Excalibur he would have most likely won or if u have played the UBW route in the VN and see the fight between Gilgamesh and berserker than he could employ a similar tactic (stand at a distance and let a hail storm of Noble phantasms do the work for you) i think he lost because of the damage inflicted by saber

lancer was getting harder time the longer the battle takes. asassin(the god in swordsman couldnt beat him) he can pwn rider. gilglamesh gets owned by archer. berserker was the only one since he didnt have a plan, was injurd and didnt bother
@henryhenriquez I'd REALLY love to see a full-on, all-out battle between Archer (given proper planning, of course) and Saber or full-power Rider (as in, Rider in HF, when Shinji's not holding her back). I don't even need to see a battle between Archer and True Assassin... True Assassin would get his ass kicked like a bitch.

Really? All of the named weapons in the game were rather well decorated you know. All I'm saying, the more legendary a weapon is, the more aesthetic it usually becomes. And Emiya has many of those in his repertoire, yet they weren't in display in UBW's landscape (anime).
@Acerelado I'v seen the ones from in game, and indeed none of them showed up in the UWB marble, which i found abit off. Ofcouse in the UWB there would be alot of random swords too, the ones Shirou had seen but were not all that legendary (yet, or at all).
The actual legendary ones would amount to a few handfuls, and UWB was endlessly large.
And those named ones the Dainsleif's was overly decorated (i suppose it suits it), but others were quite fine design, well in my opinion.
