  • yea and thats why you have to be 18 or older to buy fireworks..

  • Well, this boy was just foolish.

  • why didn't he throw it in his room and run??

  • moron? he should have throwed it and not scratching it on the floor cuz the fuse cant be unlighted

  • He got raly Lucky taht he did it loess his hand

  • why did he light it inside? is he that stupid??

  • firecreker + boy = big bobo

  • Eww! His hand looks painted in blood!

  • Ive been playin with m80s since I was 8 years old (with no acceptable supervision). Every person is a little common sense deprived in certain areas, but the extreme cases are obviously those who have no buisness engaging in any dangerous activity. My experiences with explosives SINCE THE AGE OF EIGHT have been professional and done safely. This kid is just dumb.

  • i wnt a firecracker like tht.. but its sad how like a 12 or wat ever boy dnt kno wat a fire cracker does

  • what does he expect when he lights a lighter and puts it near a firecracker??

  • I agree vickio to a point. This was plain stupid. Natural selection I guess eh?

  • why would you even do that to a firecracker

  • Wow, that is the stupidest thing you can do with a firecracker. The firecracker in the video is not an M-80, but something bigger. However, the explosion and damage would be a lot bigger for a real M-80. Your hand, if it was closed around the cracker, would be shredded, with exposed bone and burnt flesh.

  • which hand did the firecracker explode in

  • This happens a lot ot younger children, teens and adults everywhere in California. Aaron wasn't a very intelligent boy when he did this at 12 years old.

  • this could happen to you dont play with fireworks

  • This helps kids that I work with as a para.

  • idiot his own fault

  • Sorry but shit happens and the most important thing is to keep the victim calm and get them treatment. No matter how "stupid" the accident, no one deserves to be injured or to die. I cut my finger off and severely injured my leg another time. It's hard to stay calm when you're severely injured and have to do things yourself.

  • this could have been prevented if he had taken it outside

  • Unfortunate and tragic, but this is precisely *why* large salutes should be legal. People that injure themselves using them underestimate the potential for harm they have, having used firecrackers with much smaller amounts of comp that are essentially harmless in comparison. Not to mention the unsafe standards of construction many home-made salutes have as well as the allure of illegality. A child who was informed of the dangers of a large salute would not attempt to light one in the house.

  • he's 12 and is stupid enough to light that inside. Idiot!

  • why did he even light the match in the first place? what was he trying to do???? SMH!!!!!!

  • ok first why would he light it in da house anyway now i kno he kno better den dat

ok nd den he tried to blow it out why not throw

nd how old is he not to kno betta den dat??

  • you all need to chill, leave the kid alone he was only 12 years old -.-"

  • An m-80 is equivalent to an 1/8 of a stick of dynamite. But even if an actual stick of dynamite had the same composition amount as as an m-80 it would be at least 10 times more powerful. If you ever happen to light a firework in your house never try to put it out in your hand, just drop it and run away. Once it detonates get water ready in case there is a fire. It is better to have a burn mark in the carpet then indure an injury for the rest of your life

  • Darwinism is a bitch, isn't it?

  • Geez, take your sweet time mom. I guess some victims (the kid) gotta learn the hard way no matter how common sense some things are.

  • you cant put out a fuse once its lit unless you got water ...fail

  • Looked more like a 1/2 stick.

  • why didn't the kid throw it when i was little parents said throw it once its lit

  • why the hell would you do that INSIDE

  • 911: 911 whats your emergency

Me: i blew my hand off

911: ok you what did you do

Me: I BLEW MY FUCKIGN HAND OFF AGGGHHH

911: ok whats it look like

Me: ok, ok, it looks like a arm, WITH OUT A FUCKING HAND!!

tbh, my 1st reflex would be to toss it, it might hit a wall and bounce back, but i would throw it far, not like this one kid who put it in his right hand, and put it between his thighs to muffle the explosion, thiers not much left of his ass now

  • throw it out the window

  • if that would have happend to me i would haved put it down and run not hold it in my hand and think a carpet is going to put it out

  • "i blew my hand off" "operator: Are you hurt" really? 1:50 - 2:00

  • You know, I think it's kind of ridiculous when people judge the patients on here. When he lit the firecracker, he panicked. I doubt any of us would have done anything less. People respond to stressful situations differently. This is how he thought of handling it. Just because you may have done it in a different way gives you no right to judge. Hindsight is always 20/20.

  • Why in the world do u light it inside or try? Why in the world........

  • idiot, Idiot, IDIOT!

  • its cause of people like you they dont sell m-80

  • What The FUCK! how the hell is having a quarter stick of dynomite legal? is it still legal in america?

  • ah shit now he cant jack it

  • holy shit thats a big cracker!

  • was this a real thing or did they just make it up??

If this actually happened to a twelve year old I would like freak!

    hOW could THEY RE-ENACT THIS???!!!!

    THAT WOULD BE HARD!!!

  • why would you do? that if you lit it up would should drop it and run

  • how sad

  • if you light a firecracker people you should drop it and run dont hold it

  • dumbass kids

  • "boy, he blew it." bad choice of words, mom lol

  • today i saw a fire truck and an amblulance pass by and i was like ... i hope those people are okay and i hope the best 4 them

  • If this was me with my hand blown off blood coming out shit I be screaming and running outside slaming on my next door neighboor door yelling help call 911

  • this is a big fire cracker hes lucky it didn't kill him

  • how the heck did he get an m-80 i thought those were illegal

  • That shit is way bigger than an m80 that look like a m1000

  • why would a boy at that age have a fircracker

  • Funny how a specialist like that gets his facts so wrong. An M-80 is NOT equal to a quarter of a dynamite. They cannot even compare. Dynamite would have killed that kid.

  • @MrSatanica Actually, there was another Rescue 911 episode where a stick of dynamite went off in a man's hand. It blew his arm off, but it didn't kill him.

  • What a 90's thing to do.

  • why would he even do that!!!

  • retards and firecrackers don't mix.

  • Fuck people give him a break he was only 12 at the time.

He wouldn't of been smart enough not to do what happened.

  • Everybody that says they were/are laughing about this needs to go to hell!! Come on, this happened in 1990! If you would listen, William Shatner says that more than half that were treated for these kinds of accidents were under the age of 15!! Theres alot more education now than there was back then! Get over yourselves!!

  • Jesus Christ...a quarter stick of dynamite? What was such a thing doing in the house, and what was he doing lighting it?

  • this was a real dumb ass kid

  • holy shit that was creepy

  • OMG thats graphic

  • he had a freaking window in his room why didnt he use it

  • holy shit i thought it was a freggen dynomight or sum crazy shit

  • whata dummy..all he had to do was leave it on the floor if he lit it by accident..let the shit blow up..dont try to put it out..but I couldnt help but laugh when he said I blew my hand off.!!! LMAO...

  • 1:56 hahaha listen carfully

  • Some of the comments here remind me of the crazy call I had yesterday.

A bystander said the patient "should lie there and suffer for what she did to herself."

And this right in front of the patient, whose serious physical trauma could worsen if she got upset."

To the bystander I replied, "You need to go away, and let us do our job."

She wouldn't do it so I asked police to remove her from the area.

I have no tolerance for people who judge trauma victims, especially when the patient can hear it.

  • @vickiormindyb

I wish there were more wonderful people out there like you helping those who need it instead those who judge others for their mistakes.

  • @vickiormindyb but this dummy was totally asking for it

  • @vickiormindyb i agree what kind of person says something like that in the first place?

  • u throw that shit

  • he is not smart it looks like

  • well he wasnt then but would you beleave that he is a collage prof. that speaks 3 different langages...

  • @stevetouchdownsmith Of course not! You are 100% right! Aaron at 12 years old didn't find it right to set off firecrackers.

  • I remember seeing this when I was like 9 years old or something. Me and my friends laughed our asses off. What a retard!

  • @PeopleAllergy Haha I know right I want to find this kid probably adult now an by like why wouldnt you throw it!?!?!?

  • 1:40

  • wtf does he not no what fire in firework stand for

  • that was a bigass firecracker

  • @gizmondo69 ya it was actually the size of a quarter stick!

  • when he yells that he was sorry mom...oh man im tearing up again

  • I remember when I was 8 and watching this show, this episode in particular, and laughing. I guess I couldn't believe how stupid some people are.

  • @Terquilla You did? The way that Aaron yelled and cried reminds me of pregnant women who stressed out in getting driven to the hospital to give birth to 1 or more children. Body parts can get lost after explosives were set off. I cried the same way as Aaron whenever the alarm went off inside my house.

  • thats just like pulling the pin on a gernade letting the igniter trugger fall off and trying to put it back on and stopping the fuse

  • @TheFiremansavage the prob is when the fuse got lit he started to panic, and when most people panic they don't really think very good

  • @TheFiremansavage HAHA thats a perfect analogy. I couldnt have said it better. M-80s use visco and you definitely cannot put Visco safety fuse out. You need to cut it, but to do even that, it would have to be a long fuse and or you do it VERY quickly

  • When did the 911 dispatcher catch on to the fact that his name is "Aaron", not "Anne"?

  • Why the hell didn't he light it outside! Or here's an even better question. Why didn't he take it outside, light it, throw it on the ground, and back away from it! Obviously he has a lack of common sense, not to mension intelligence!

  • Man I love the re-enactments. They show what really happened. Damn, kids.

  • Comment removed

  • My god, What the hell does he expect if he keeps swiping the lighter over the M-80? Im Eleven years old, and smarter than that!

  • i honestly feel sorry for that guy, but why would he light a firecracker in his house?

"USE YOUR HEAD, NOT YOUR ASS!"

  • That looks like it had to hurt.

  • OUCH! Aaron. How old are you now?? That sounds like something that I would do but so far I have not.

  • This is horrible. not because he had the m-80, but because he knew nothing of it. Some ignorant brainwashed old hags had the law passed in the 1960s to ban m80s. the number of related injuries today is many times higher than it was before the law was passed. illegalizing something doesnt take the issue away and its very unfortunate that stupid ignorant people get to pass laws in America. if they were legal, the boy would have had more knoledge about fireworks and most of all, the power of them.

  • A kid at school walked up to him and say "hey, aaron, here." AND THAT"S THE WHOOOOLE STORY. oh wait, he said to stick it in your mouth it's really cool...aaron was suspecious about that though. Smart kid.

  • a m80 blough up his hand

  • daim

  • What cause the firecracker to ignite?

  • we need this show back so people can learn from other's mistakes

  • what a dumbass kid!

  • okay alright i have a fire cracker and momys gone so lets go outside and llight it wait you know what i might as well do it inside and and and maby i will blow of my hand yah that sounds good.

ovbiously i have no syphthy for the imature 12 year old.

  • Still, even if he got in trouble with the police instead, that's better than getting your hand crippled for life, or even worse, blown off.

  • first never light an m80 in youre hand and second you never light it in the house third don,t try to blow it out dumb ass.

  • Game over.

  • if i was him when i lite it, i would threw it in the hallway and close the door to my room

  • m-80 are not quialent to a 1/4 stick of dynamite, biggest misconception. if this was 1/4 stick of dynamyte, he wouldn't be alive to make the call. no way to compare explosives to confined deflegaration devices

  • sumtime ppl ask the dumbest questions..the boy called n said he blew his hand off and the dispatcher responds by asking are you hurt..lol wtf..i think if any part of sum1s body blew up it would hurt

  • A painful lesson learned; you do not light firecrackers or fireworks in the house. You are supposed to light them and set them off outside only.

  • i grab a stick and lit the top of it to keep away of the fire work

  • I saw on a TV show that a boy made this comment "I once knew a guy who blew off his hand playing with fireworks"

  • PULL THE DAM FUSE FOR CHRIST SAKE

  • if it had killed him he would have gotten a Darwin Award....LULZ

  • He's too young to get a Darwin.

  • Thats the exact thought i had when i watched it, should get an honourable mention

  • regarless he's still a child and some children are still nieve to alot of things. lesson learned.

  • why was he lighting it in his room

if it's lit throw it away don't try to attemp to unlight it

  • yeahi think these should be legal but they should have a warning about visco fuse that its waterproof and wont go out no mater what you do it supplys its own oxgyen

  • Ow!

  • Twelve? Old enough to know better. I have no sympathy for him. Now if it was a two or three year old THEN they'd have my sympathy. For the actual call, when he screams people are;

    D-8>

    I'm

    >x-D ROFLMFAO!!

  • I agree he was very foolish, but I think he learned his lesson--and it was a harsh and painful lesson to learn. Have a little sympathy eh? The kid nearly blew his whole hand off--now that has got to hurt like hell!

It is rather cruel of you to laugh at the kid, 12 is still a child

  • At least he admited it.

  • i wish a kid went up to me and gave me an m-80

  • i think everyone does buddy

  • fire police.............i think he need an ambulance

  • what moron would do this inside and try to light it. much less with a 1/4 stick

  • How dumb do you have to be to hold on to a lit M80 and try to put out a lit fuse. He's very bright??? lol

  • Stupid kid. Don't you know those kind of fireworks are DANGEROUS???? In my area, they're ILLEGAL to shoot them off.

  • i remember this program is was so cool

  • thats a big ass firecracker. i think its in a whole other class of fireworks... like bombs

  • thats my brother!!!

  • HAHAHA this is classic! my good friend lives here and that was his parents and brother. This is soo funny (not the losing the hand part).

Well my friend who lives there now hasnt tried anything like that so good job to him

  • People, this happened in 1992. Times were a lot different then. The kid made a mistake, but that has nothing to do with his intelligence. This was something very unfortunate, but he learned from it. This kid was 12...c'mon. Are some of you really saying such mean things about a child.

  • wat i dont get is y didnt he throw it when it lit or did he panake or somtin

  • hahaha thats my brother!! i no hes an idiot

  • Poor boy I hope he's ok

  • Wow, just look at the kid's computer and TV just back in 1991! you can see it right near the beginning at 0:21. Now I feel old and I'm only 25! Haha!

  • stupid kid

  • iv had that happen to me but not exactly the same way, heres a hint THROW IT!!!!!! thats what i did and im still in 1 piece

  • Poor boy, I hope he's ok

  • oh god i remember seeing this on tv! judging by the description that it took place in 92, i was 6 or 7. i remember being sick to my stomach over it!

  • Kids like him , ruin it for everyone else, with all these laws they have on fireworks nowadays.

  • i remember hearing bout this one before...

  • this is why fire crackers are illegal, because stupid shit like this happens, if people were not so careless, we would still have them, if we ever were to get them back, we should be able to have small fire crackers, like those mini black cats that are in strands, and anyone can get injured by a firework, they might as well ban all of them..

  • i blew my hand off (and your hurt)i did a m-80 in the house and it blew my hand off ( you blew your hand off) no i paid someone to reanactment him blewing his hand off.

  • i hope so i dont wont this to happen again to some one else of course hey are

  • i member watching an episode and two kids were on a QP and were putting gas on fuses or something then BOOOOOOOOOOOOM the gas can dealy blew up in their faces and one kid lost an ear!!!!!

  • what kind of ediot is he? he is like the guy who tryed to burn the wax off of a m-80 fuse

  • Don't light the firecracker while indoors

  • how on earth did they reanact that?

  • They probably had the actor hold a fake firecracker in his hand (just had a fuse with no gunpowder inside). The shot where the firecracker explodes is filmed over his shoulder, so you don't actually see the firecracker, you just see a flash underneath him. They may have had a stunt man crouch over a less powerful firecracker and then edited in the BANG sound effect later.

  • @allgood2000 or a dummy look alike!

  • @pinkislush99 FOR REAL!!!!!

  • I'm very grateful that the doctors were able to save that boy's hand.

  • This is one of the few Rescue 911 where I just think the victim is an idiot. At 12 what did he think would happen when holding an explosion instead of "wow this is gonna be so sparkly and cool".

  • at 1:31 poor kid i hope when hes in college people are gonna say,"hey your soo cool":)

  • Well this was back in 1991 when he was 12, so he's probably around 30 years old now.

  • nobody says that.

  • they paid someone to blow off their hand in a reanactment?

  • omg ur not actually serious are you lol....its a reanactment..its just acting

  • i was only joking!

  • do you not know the movie world? It is a fake !! Do you think that hollywood buys a man to die with ten knifes in the chest for a horror movie?

  • NO!!!!!!!! its fake

  • 12 years old are you joking... im sorry but that kid has some serious mental issues or extremely bad parenting.. I could understand finding amusement in lighting a fuse if you were like 4 but this kid!!?? why would he do that wave a flame around a fuse?!?!?!?!

  • thats mean

  • i dont think kids get over fire and fireworks till there a bit older than that

  • I'm 20, and I still love fireworks!

  • Well, thank goodness he had the sense to call 911

  • Next time,do that outside and let go of it! you should have an adult with you

  • yea, jeez what is he like 12? a 5 year old would have more common sense

  • He even knew what the fuck it was

  • His right he was dump

  • Poor kid

  • hes fuckin stupid.... hes playing with a lighter putting the fuse over the lighter

its better to throw it insted of just tryin put out holding it

  • I feel sorry for him but here's the fact : HE SHOULD'VE NEVER PLAYED WITH FIREWORKS. It's understandable if he was a 3yr old that didn't understand, but he was of age that he understood common sence. =x

  • M80s are like the equivalent of a frag grenade. If it explodes too close to you, you'll get showered with burning shrapnel. Holding it in your hand/hands like a dumbass when it goes off, well...

Lets just say that your wife will be opening your ketchup bottles for the rest of your natural life if you dont get immediate medical attention.

And thats why in some states M80 fireworks are illegal to sell in stores or firework shops. Especially when July 4th is around the corner during the year.
