I'm sorry but they are not the Doors. They are very talented (manzarek is my favourite organist ever) but the doors of perception can't be open without jim.
Brian Jones and Jim Morrison were the greatest artists of their time. The most talented people. They died on the same day - July 3, 1969; July 3, 1971.
I love how Ray mentions Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" and Brian Jones. So much talent sharing a stage and we have real music perfomed by real musicians. Those were the days..
Dear gatortailor- they were lookin for a replacement, but they couldnt find one at this time. You gotta give Manzarek some credit, he can play keyboards, keyboard bass and sing at the same time!!
@JoAqUiNBandit - I know you're speaking about the vinyl version but OV just came out, along with Full Circle, as an official reissue via digital download on itunes, emusic, spotify.
This is a real catchy, rocking song. They were still the nucleus of The Doors playing their same instruments. They just should have called themselves something else! They could have been called Other Voices, just like the album they created after Jim died. A lot of people might have been able to accept them more as a new entity if they had done that!
@bluenazz They reformed in 2002 with Ian Astbury from The Cult as frontman. After a hugely successful tour The Doors yet again took another hiatus, while Ian went back to his band The Cult and the rest is perfectly history.
@beatclub911 Yes thanks! I've seen videos of them with Ian Astbury but they should have replaced Morrison back in the 70's instead of turning out those crap Doors LP's without him (:->

I could have done without Ray's off-key screaming over Robby's awesome solo at the end, thank you very much.

Manzarek can't sing. They should have gotten Eric Burden to replace Morrison. Another awesome singer with some charisma. Manzarek sucks!

I love the Doors but they should have found a new lead singer instead of going on as a threesome.
