A friend once made the observation that this was basically the KICK ASS of it's day. An ordinary, slight inept dude fantasising about being a super hero and getting embroiled into a situation that forces him to live his 'dream' for real.
I used to have this video taped on VCR, but only the intro and like 1 minute of it. I never knew what the hell it was, ha ha... we taped over it eventually...
this is my favorite movie of all time, even though it is so stupid. I have it on vhs which I got in 1981, and it still works!!!! It's from the era when disney movies used to come in these white hard cases........
I liked this movie as a kid, and I like it even more now as a "spoof" on all the James Bond movie stereotypes. Good, clean fun like they don't make any more.
@ranma6899 the 1st time i saw this movie was from Beta max. Nice to know somebody has given it respect. Any chance for a Video Response of it running from ya beta?
I remember being shown this at school a couple of times in the 4th or 5th grade. That woman Condor man is with in the bar is oozing with estrogen. WOW!
wow. i watched this film at the cinema on my 7th birthday. i'm 35 now so this film must date from 1981. would love to see if again but i'm sure it was really naff. Crawford should have stuck to Some Mothers Do Ave em!!
Hey your my age, and I remember watching this film at school in like '83 or '84. I totally forgot about it till recently, which is why I looked it up just now. So it is real! And not just a childhood dream.
This is awesome. I read the book as a kid and dressed up as Condorman for Halloween once, but I never got to see the movie! I can't find it in any of my local video stores.
saw this on release in cinema with my sister, (it only ran for a week). Still remember the disappointment after. Probably the weakest, worse superhero film ever. This was the era of blockbusters like superman and starwars... Good movie?!
I've still got an old VHS copy with 80s adverts and some xmas cartoons at the beginning and end. I never met anyone else before who enjoyed it as much as me! Classic...
As a kid, I couldn't tell that he was faking an American accent. But if you listen very closely, you notice that he slips every now and again. *shrugs*
The movie was no award winner for sure. But, it starred Barbara Carrera, who would later appear as Fatima Blush in "Never Say Never Again". Nuff said... :o)
OMG! NOBODY knew what the heck I was talking about when I mentioned this flick. My older bro and me would watch this together when i was little...one of my favs.. I thought id never see it again!!!Thanx 4 posting.
This is a legendary film, nice editing. I still think the best part is when he runs round disguised as a gypsy with a walking cane that doubles up as a machine gun lol
I liked the part where they are in a trailer and this condor car bursts out during the bad guy pursuit. They showed this movie and Tron when I was like, what 7 yrs old??
Well, I personally *still* love this movie. I don't find it cheesy at all. It's meant to be tongue in cheek, after all. It's not supposed to be The Dark Knight. I love the natural, warm cinematography, the likeable characters, the locations and scenery, and the wonderful score by Henry Mancini.
For me, Condorman is a "guilty pleasure" that I don't feel all that guilty about.
I Loved this movie. We had it on VHS and we watched it thru the 80's, 90's, and past Y2K. The Casette is beat up now. I even remember trying to make wings out of crutches and jumping off a picnic table trying to fly. Good ole days. Thanx for posting!!

@CrossAcademyNinja This was from the 80s. He may have done this after he had already been cast as the Phantom.

@MORKOS621 no its about 5 years before the phantom, but i can still hear his voice in it
CrossAcademyNinja 1 year ago
@CrossAcademyNinja I have the special DVD of the Phantom movie with the extras in another disc. It seems Crawford wasn't the original choice.
MORKOS621 1 year ago
@MORKOS621 ur correct, i believe it was burton that was the original choice, or some other person that im not sure about
CrossAcademyNinja 1 year ago
@CrossAcademyNinja Richard, Tim or Lance? Actually, it was Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel. He made a video of the theme song with Sarah Brightman.
MORKOS621 1 year ago
@MORKOS621 yeah i knew that one of the choices was steve Harley, but to be honest i dont think the mate was really for the part
CrossAcademyNinja 1 year ago
@CrossAcademyNinja Maybe if he had gotten the part, though, people wouldn't be so hostile to Gerard Butler.
