  • I bet that guy with his back-hand will shot the ball very weak and low to the net or very high to the middle adverse court.

  • @anasamati yo bro, i don't have a two hander anymore, i have a one so when i demo a two hander, it looks like an one hander...

  • @hi10spro If you know that you don't have a competent two handed backhand, why even make a video on it? It's better not making a video at all and admitting that your two handed backhand isn't up to scratch rather than misinforming thousands of viewers.

My credibility in this statement? Just look at the dislikes compared to the likes.

  • @VoiceOfAMinority i played two handed backhand since i was a kid until i was in university. it's a discussion about theory also so it applies. i just can't demo it anymore, because i have a one hander. but seriously, i think this video although rudimentary was informational and gave pertinent information towards the two hander. and the dislikes please, this is the internet. so many haters

  • I like it when you pretend you are Magnum PI since you're in Hawaii and comment on stategy for points played. But with all due respect, your stroke teaching is really right out of a chinese fortune cookie. Vague at best. Dangerous if listened to.

  • @dura1mater why am I pretending to be Magnum pi? also look around homes, my vids specialize on one item as all good tennis pros should, you might learn something :D AHAHHAHA

  • you might want to add holding the racquet with a looser grip. i know people want to squeeze the racquet tight as possible but on a backhand its not necessary

  • @MIXMASTAPWN NICE tip!

  • Just what I am looking for! I need to add this shot to my repertoire! Cause I really don't know how to use 1 handed slice, maybe 2 hands will allow me.

I will try this in my practice. Thanks so much.

  • double backhands can be debated on the "best" way to hold it. i froze myself right before hitting the double backhand to see what grips my hands took comfort in. right hand (dominant) was in continental and left hand (supporting) was in semi-western. it really comes down to your form though and position of your elbows during your backhand. best thing to do is see what works for you because not even the pros use the same form

  • sweet comment although I like the semiwestern left hand, as long as you don't have a weak wrist backhand. I hate that two hander where people use their left wrist to snap it.

  • also a good tip for hitting the backhand... the point of contact should be more in front of you than the forehand. shoulder turned in to the ball and make contact in front of your front foot/hip. the length of how much more in front is a debate but you should go with what works for you.

  • Nice vid..I have a question though, for my two-handed bcakhand, i have a semi-western grip for my right hand and a eastern grip for my left. By the way im a righty. So do i really need to change it to the more "correct" grip form? My backhand is excellent the way it is right now but i was just wondering.

  • nah. you can hit it like that. there are three ways--a lefty forehand, an eastern backhand where it's more righty one hander, and the one where you have to hit with both hands (this one sucks don't do this.) so you're in two... and it cool. you could later switch to just a one hander

  • I agree with this idea that the two handed backhand is like a left handed forehand. naturally i'm a lefty and my parents made me do everything with my right hand when i was little. i play tennis righty but my backhand is way more precise and nearly as powerful as my forehand too.

  • holy crap that racquet has a huge head

  • yep :D

  • Beginners need it, because they cannot hit the ball on the centre of their strings 99% of the times

  • or advanced OLD guys that like to volley and hit serves

  • Well, I think a backhand definitely needs to be hit with the left arm mostly, if you are a righty.

  • there are three ways to hit it. lefty forehand, righty backhand left hand assist, and double hands together. the best is lefty forehand...it's the most versatile.

  • But this is more about the grip rather than left v right arm doing more work. I am adjusting my two handed backhand grip and this helps. Some people go Eastern with the right/lower hand, but this semi-western is a good tip.

  • wow, people are very closed-minded, huh? but anyways, a very good explanation of it. too bad im lefty......lol

  • i am a lefty too. tennis is awesome. i am practicing everyday, so i can try out next semester.

  • very bad way of explaining it because telling them its like a left-handed forehand is wrong because that would mean using your left hand for most of the power but that is wrong, the correct power distrubution is 90% power on right arm and 10% on left arm also keeping in mind the power you also get from kenetic linking.

  • there are three ways to hit a two-hander--i teach left hand forehand, some teach righty dominant (your way), and some teach both hands working together. lefty forehand is probably in my opinion the best. easy to understand and get it across.

  • agreed :D a left handed forehand describes it good, cause the contact point is not meant to be infront or at your front hip like a 1 handed backhand.

  • Bad advice to follow... you will be pushing the ball if you hit it like that.

  • DO NOT FOLLOW THIS! Biggest mistake is thinking the two handed backhand is a like a left handed forehand. In order to generate power you need to utilize the right arm more. Agassi even said this when he was commentating on the Roddick v Federer match last night. If you use the left hand you will be pushing the ball more than striking.

  • there are three ways to hit a two-hander...

  • Thanks for posting.
