  • thank you this really taught me i think ive been pressing my hair wrong :/

  • Love your hair! That's exactly what I'm going for. I noticed you said that you "kinky" press, how is that done? Never heard of that. You also said that you no longer do a silky press. Is there a particular reason or just personal preference?

    Thanks

  • @kpdc26 Kinky press means I leave some texture in my hair. When I do a kinky press I will do only 1 or 2 passes of the hot comb through my hair. My hair gets straightened about 50%. I became very bored with silky-straight hair and with showing off my hair length. At first it was a high to have other women gawking and asking how I got my hair "that length". But I got over my hair and no longer felt the need to show the world my long hair... LOL!

  • Thank you so much for putting this video up. It's very informative and helpful.

  • Hi Pink Skates, What is your opinion on electric hot combs, like the Andis? I got one for Christmas and used it the other day, but the results were terrible. I'm not sure if it was hot enough, but I was trying not to burn my hair. Also, I tried the flip the wrist method, but it gave me an annoying flip to my ends. Any suggestions? Thank you.

  • @Teeka121 I personally don't like electric hot combs. The teeth are usually too small and too close together which rips the hair out. And all the ones I tried never got hot enough to straighten my hair, Well, when I flip my wrist I'm not flipping so much where I'm curling my hair ends. I do just a tiny little flip. It's kinda of hard to explain in words, I just made adjustments over the years of pressing my hair You know it's trial and error. You have to make small adjustments as you go.

  • THANK YOU! You are truly an inspiration. I cannot wait to visit your website!

  • I trid to view your web page and it didn't come up.

  • @PinkSkatesPinkNation no problem. its one thing to tell the truth and its not so nice, but its clear and obvious that your hair is GORGEOUS, and there is NOTHING negative needed to be said about it :)

  • Okay loooove the hair but watsnot2adore21 is right no matter how much u flag people for saying it ... :) Your hair is awzumm

  • you have VERY beautiful and long hair. it's very nice. even when it's kinky and curly and all that. And i LOVE the texture. It's beautil and you should NOT put a relaxer in it. it could damage your hair.

  • @HappiiSmiles316 I will never ever put a relaxer in my hair!

  • @watsnot2adore21 a relaxer can damage her natural hair! she has beautiful hair! relaxers are not for everyone!

  • Thanks for the video! I'm always interested in how other ladies press their hair.

  • good video

  • that is really pretty i appreciate this

  • does kinky straight mean you just blow dried it?

  • @Isis4love Kinky-straight means I warm my hot comb to the minimum and do 1 or 2 swipes with the hot comb. If I only blow dry my hair, I called that my Blowout.

  • Your hair looks beaut

  • @watsnot2adore21 nope she can stay happily natural! she loves the way her hair is

  • @watsnot2adore21 nobody needs a relaxer, not everybody wants pin dead straight hair :)

  • good narration

  • Thanks for the video! I pressed my hair last night and burned it a bit but now I know to keep wiping the comb until the brown color is gone! Thanks again!

  • I am glad you are back. I am lookin forward to seeing your fitness and health tips videos. Would you happen to have a video you could post describing how you use the tension method to blow dry your hair? I am planning to press my hair soon and a more efficient blow drying method than using a comb would be helpful.

  • You're one of my inspirations to go natural. I'm transitioning now. Thank you!

  • Your hair is beautiful. when you did the big chop how long did it take your hair to grow down your back?? Also you dont use a heat protectant spray like Sebastion or Mizani Thermosmooth? and if not , why not?

  • I often do you press your hair?
