@6434SUNIL This is not a help center! This demo was to show how Knots can get HD video onto the N900, nothing more. I believe that the N900 is unable to play files with higher resolution that 480 (standard DVD res), so you would have to reencode if you wanted to take HD video on the road with you on your N900.
Need ur help,,just bought my N900,,,when i go to my facebook i always have problem playing the video clip,it shows a massage ''pls update your flash player'' my phone is a maemo 5,how do i get to install the latest flash player so that i can play video clip on my facebook,,,pls advice,..also that what are deb files, how do i use it...help,
@ipurba AFAIK, the N900 will not play files with the MKV extension. But you need to remember, MKV is NOT a codec, it is simply a container. What that means it, you can take the video file out of the MKV container, and then play it on your N900 (that is, assuming the video file is playable on your N900 - XviD or X264, only). How do you do this, then? Use an an app called "AVI-Mux GUI", it's pretty straightforward if you have a little exoerience with this sort of thing.
so, i hv downloaded it. and took a try, i assumed that it is not a converter, it is a software to combine several multimedia files (not .mkv), am i right? i tried using my .mkv file and the result has no sound on it.
i hv only .mkv file. if i am making a mistake here, please if you dont mind, give a link to the tutorial, i'd be so grateful
Its not 1080p if you use knots..... its transcoded down to a lower bit rate and pushed to the N900. Either way your using excessive power to play a video on a samller res device.
@TomaCukor Again, we miss the point. Many people download rips of HD movies. With Knots, you can watch even those on your N900. Just like if you reencoded a DVD to watch on the go - except with Knots its live and on the fly.
I think it's due to the transcoding process. As I said below, it gets really jerky when there's lots of action on the screen. 720p is obviously smoother than 1080p.
This demo is really just a proof-of-concept. But as Knots gets better (and your computer gets faster!) this will b a more and more viable solution, I think.
1080 lags pretty badly when you get to some acton in the film. 720 runs ok. But both are transcodes, downsampled on the fly.
The reason this is cool is because if you have some HD content on your HDD, you CAN watch it on the N900 with out taking the time to reencode it yourself. Knots does it for you instantly. Works for DVDs too, (ISO's, etc) on the fly, very nicely.
wat is da vid supos 2 b bout?

What are the reasons for lag? Wifi? Or device itself?

these lags on n900 are only at the beginning of this 1080p video ?And could it run full hd video
without streaming ? from micro sd card for example ?
