You know, I'll probably get beat up for saying this, but I'll say it anyway.
I am definitely a fan of original versions of songs moreso than remakes, but I think this prooves me otherwise.
Michael Buble's version has more melody in it. This one is actually mostly monotone.
It's obviously not horrible, but I have to say that for once in my life I prefer the remake. It's more jazzy and I think Michael accents certain things in it that make it more effective.
i can't stand the commercial lounge jazz sound of michael buble. his voice is so devoid of class, and has that plastic polish for the masses. leonard cohen is an original and doesn't cover everyone else's songs. i'd say michael buble is just an entertainer and not a musician... and not a very entertaining one at that. i'd love to hear alan rickman sing this song.
I don't like this video in the least, I don't think it does the song justice in the least, it's too comical and the animation seems a little too obscure. Also, the sound effects they added are really unnessecary and annoying, it makes one focus on the video rather than the song.

just returned from a Michael Buble concert and he does a fantastic version of this song. Both very good and both have great voices, although Michael Buble is much much sexier on the eyes :)
