It's the first strategy game that's actually about strategy, not just about massing 5,000 units and seeing which group of units kills the other first.

It's the first strategy game since the original Starcraft where EVERY SINGLE UNIT is useful and EVERY SINGLE UNIT can be countered. And it really bothers me how people hate on this game just because it doesn't have the Chrono Legionnaire and the Battle Fortress, and because they replaced Yuri with Japan.

@slesta Yet they are dominated in every region by other Factions, The Giant Transformer (King Oni) They do not posess AA infantry, their Base defenses are weak, except for the Beam Cannon, their Usual tank is crappier than the Allied Hammer tank, or the Soviet Hammer Tank, their Helicopters are no match to the Soviet Mi 24s, Their Jets are worse than the Allied jets, they don't have Bombers, and the only good thing about them is that their Shogun ships pwn and they build buildings fast

Kirovs didn't seem that tough in RA2, I've seen 3 get killed by only 2 Gatling turrets.

youre meant to use kirovs in large numbers (30 should do in single player)

that way yo can demolish an enemy base in less then 3 minutes, a force of dual barreld tanks would take 6 or 7 minutes, depending on youre anti-infantry hardware

thats what makes kiorovs so powerfull anyway

The Kirov attack I saw still worked (the person sent out 5), but still, it only took 2 Gatling turrets to destroy 3. They work against the computer because it's far too stupid to build many anti guns, a human opponent would see them coming and build mass anti-air and destroy them all, though this does bring up an interesting strategy I heard of that consists of building Kirovs just to get your opponent to spent money on anti-air.

I should just state that I have a heard time taking Kirovs seriously because they are, realistically , such a stupid idea (I know it's a game, but still, blimps, nobody has ever used them in war), and the seemed lame in RA2 compared all of the other exotic technology.

I have to say the Japs are the weakest. They focus too much on expansion, and unlike the Allies and Sovets you have to upgrade each building INDIVIDUALLY instead of building a Battle Lab / Max Clearance (which applies to everything) so you can get to the next tier of units. They lack Anti-Air, and tranforming mecha are needed for Anti-Air, which is annoying. Although, when the upgrade is finished, a Rocketangel spam + Yuriko can emit the same firepower as several Kirovs.
