@beautymariely you could by keeping the oven on the lowest setting and keeping the door ajar...but people have reported limited success doing this(some say it works, some say it doesn't and others say it does, but doesn't taste as good. Consider an investment in at least an inexpensive dehydrator(one is on my site) as there are so many things you can make with it.
I'm a 1st year college student and was wondering how I'd go about making these minus the food processor seeing as books take up most of my money!! haha
@clarita198 I believe Coconut Butter has much of the oil removed so it doesn't become liquid. It's used to make the consistency necessary for cookies.
i made these yesterday, they have all gone already. Do you think they would still taste as good without the banana as i dont seem to like things with bananas in. These cookies were lovely but the banana spoilt them a little but thats me personally.
@jennalovesfashion You can make them by setting your oven at its lowest temperature and keep the door open, but I hear that they don't turn out as well as they do with a dehydrator...so if you feel adventurous, give it a try...I don't have any idea how long, you'll have to keep checking them.
@jennalovesfashion I have 2, an excalibur 9 tray and are weston..both are great but about $200...if you can't afford that get an inexpensive one and/or on craigslist. I list many of he products I use at my website youngonrawfood,
just click "shop" and click on the link when you get to that page.
Mimi...how about "Coconut Almond Chews" as when I made them my family said they loved them because they were not dry...but chewy! So...in your cook book , I inserted this recipe and that is what I called them. They're so yummy! And the aroma in the house gets "what are you making? " then "when will they be done?"
I actually made something like this last week & I did add the hemp protein powder to it. It comes out great ! Also sometimes add maca, and brazil nut protein powder.
This reminds me of the cookie dough Mia and I made that weekend.
It made all the difference the suggestion you had for blending the almonds until the oils released ! I'd not had the patience for that in the past !
Now I know it makes a great deal of a difference. Thank you for sharing !
looks so good!!!-Mimi you need to be on the food network- i am going to suggest they check you out-- About 2 yrs ago i saw a girl cooking lebanese food on youtube- i told her she needs to be on the food network- she replied -your mouth to gods ear- i turned on the TV few months latter-and THERE SHE WAS! on food network- (Artie was her name)--lot love shelly

What if you don't have a dehydrator, how could you make these cookies then? Great recipe.

Mimi, I see that sometimes you combine coconut oil with coconut in some of your recipes. Could you tell me what's the difference between the two?
clarita198 3 months ago
@clarita198 Coconut is the white "meat" of the coconut and coconut oil is an oil made from coconuts...you buy coconut oil separately.
