so the only real target for the irradiates were the ultras, who used the irradiate as a double edged sword. M&Ms and SCVs just melt to irradiated ultras, and those dont even die to a single irradiate in the first place! this just seems like the perfect counter to the SKTerran build. however being the terran in this situation I'm not sure what he coulda done differently. maybe move out with the M&Ms to make the mutas fall back to defend and to slow the zerg down, hopefuly taking down a base or 2.
No, but you said that the only real target were the ultras. Irradiating the vessels would have been a much better option. I never said that it would make a big difference.
@HeLL12aiseR wrong noob, it's an efficient tactic used to kill much more units than otherwise, since the enemy can't do a split and you are free to move the radiation cloud around PLUS it lasts much longer since the irradiated unit doesnt DIE from the spell.
never said it wasn't EFFECTIVE, I said it was LAME. jeez, even your flames SUCK, seriously get a decent brain for a change, as you obviously need a better one...
yes, cause thumbs up or down on YouTube mean so much... lmao...
now, the eraser trick, while it can be effective, is NEVER a necessity in order to win the game. it also is NOT a VERY effective tactic, just possibly effective, don't overestimate it.
now, as far as lame tactics go, most of them are at least somewhat effective, or else they wouldn't have been used in the first place... however they're more lame than effective if you compare the scales on both...
@HeLL12aiseR don't cry baby, just play terran vs zerg and you'll learn. Or watch boxer's games and see how it can win you the match, contrary to your oppinion.
as for it winning games, think about what you've just said... what you said was that Boxer, or any other Terran for that matter wouldn't have won that specific TvZ WITHOUT using the eraser trick. now, if that would be true than all those Terrans including Boxer himself just plainly suck!
unfortunately for you they don't actually suck, which means YOU suck, and are wrong!
@HeLL12aiseR "think about what you've just said... what you said was that Boxer, or any other Terran for that matter wouldn't have won that specific TvZ WITHOUT using the eraser trick. now, if that would be true than all those Terrans including Boxer himself just plainly suck!"
Heh, and you tell ME about needing a brain?! Defeated by english again, keep reading over and over until you get it, I never said that.
It's not my fault you're stupid, really, I said "IT CAN win you the game"
finally a smart use of guardians. not the "standard" mass guardian pretty much all in build that we usually see(when we see guardians that is) but as a defensive move to a sort of sauron zerg style. expand like mad, let the terran amass his vessels, let him irradiate the now rather useless guardians(after they've done their job that is) and than just chug units up the terran's throat. the mass vessels werent very effective because Effort was constantly on the move, and without a lot of defilers
he 1st faked muta, made lings instead w/ those larvae and saved up the gas with full intention of going guardian and secure expansions to run the late game. those lings he made was strategic also. usually terran would split force at main/exp vs muta, and so those lings could easily take out the front, but he failed to do so this game.
threat of muta harrass forced frozean to turret up and stay home, which was a huge delay at push etc and allowed effort's plan to work.
Play video games for cash? sure. Play the same video game, a minimum of 12 hours a day (thats on the low side of things) and living in a house with all your other team mates.. no thanks. Korean pro gamers are far from filthy rich.
Haha. I love how irradiated ultras can eraser scvs and most units. A few of those ultras got more kills from the irradiates than their actual attacks. Nice job with the guardians too. Didn't over commit with them and just used em for defense so they didn't destroy him like they usually do :P Great queen play too.
Think frozean pushed out a little too often. Needed to get a bigger terran ball going.. but he was starved for resources so i get it.
because they cant attack, infested CC is rarely used and the snare is quite difficult to pull off.. broodlings i dont know, never use those. I guess their main strength can be snare against like marines n using guardians or perhaps hold lurkers. but then people prefer to get defiler with swarm, consume and plague
queens are cool, I think people are underestimating them. Ensnare is very good against mnm force, parasite has uses (parasite the sci vessels, or dropships). I even use broodling - against mnms with a support of few tanks - broodling the tanks. Infesting a cc is very usefull too. When you attack with ultraling you cant attack air (obviously), so infesting a damaged, floating CC is like killing it.
is like DarkArhon (DA)... the time for those units will come players dont have micro for it yet... for example you can see: army+arbiter+templar dragons+river micro army+HT+1/2 DA cors+web+river (later +HT) You will never see buils like amry+river+templars+DA+arbiter+cors (web) because this build is expensive & hard to control but its the most powerfull build at the end = mass dmg & enemy dont atack... but queens are really strong...
watch Stork vs. GGplay its an hour and a half game all of Andromeda gets mined out, the army you are talking about can be witnessed in that awesome game.
also another reason why, army plus reaver plus temp and DA and arbiter with corsairs is not seen is because it is WAAAAYYY too gas heavy.
i know it is gas heavy (that why i use "at the end") if it wasny't toss would own all (+micro)
but my piont is that nows days when MACRO >>>>>>> MICRO the new player that will own all must have realy realy good micro...
without it SC will stand in one place for a while like now (the 1st was i think Boxer then others like Fantasy,Leta,Savior,Stor,Jaedong,Bisu but now the lvl in SC stop for a while. We are w8ting for some one new for new things).
It seems that, if you realize a Zerg opponent is going to manage 3 gas for awhile, you MUST transition to more mech. It seems universal that, in TvZ, if the Z does manage to hold onto 3 gas for some time, you're not going to win with pure bio.
It might be a little naive. I would give effort more credit, he seems to be a very adaptive player. if frozean did a transition that late in the game, it would have been even more cost effective for effort to transition into a lurker build. just my opinion.
well i guess tht if u let d Z with 3 gas its because u are already behind in the game unless u have a couples expantions too. Or u could go for mech build but transticion is very complicate!
SK terran is a lot stronger than you think. It's just Effort did fast hive and fast upgrades(frozean could've expoed earlier imo) and frozean was just pure outplayed. I'm pretty sure Effort could've done anything and still won, he's just the better player.
humiliation unit/tactic is just something to rub it in ur opponents face when u know your going to win hands down. like the queen infesting the cc or building an offensive sunken colony in a ZvZ game.
sweating like a dirty bastard like harang was damn that was funny

it's not a lame tactic used for rubbing it in, it's a verry effective tactic that DOES "make a difference".

Nice tactic by Effort. Camp, get guardians, and let your overwhelming upgraded army do the job. Frozean never had a chance to win.
An irradiated ultra is so strong, it was one hitting scvs.
Why do zergs not upgrade their last (+3) melee attack when they play against bio terran? Is it useless?
Tillysouth 2 years ago
I have to say, Frozean is a lot better than I thought he was. Props to him for staying alive so long.
Also, if an Ultralisk erasers your SCV's, who gets the kill? The Vessel? >_>

JOEMAMA5905 2 years ago
I think that queen isn't necessarily humiliation, since CCs are being lifted.
A scourge or two + infest is a cheap way of finishing them off.
Danceofmasks 2 years ago
it takes 8 scourges to get a cc to half health. Which is 100 minerals and 300 gas, so not really 'cheap'
RedAlert39 2 years ago
Well, if you notice those CCs were already damaged before lifting.
I'm not advocating trying to scourge a CC with full health.
Danceofmasks 2 years ago

Dropships my friend, dropships.
Also there's the fact that you have to allow the zerg to run on 3 gas and do nothing about it for some time.
