  • They butchered the song. Even Eva Mendes's version is much better.

  • @Nancy99999 i gave that one a listen.... sounded like they gave her 3min to get through the song? not even singing just talking really really fast.

  • @KARBELAEZ Yeah, her version is also not good. But she isn't a singer anyway, so let's be fair (it wasn't really about her talking, but her voice as this song is a talky type one). But this version is by an ACTUAL singer, and it's just bad.

  • the best version is by Jose Feliciano undoubtedly (The live one)!!

  • unreal changes

  • original ( Noel) is the best

  • I first heard this song on the Muppets Show. Now, I find it here and love it.

  • @CosmicGrounds (everywhere)

    take care

  • Phrase does it the best.

  • he's my heroooooooo!!!!!!

  • questa è eleganza....

  • Steve Jobs R.I.P.

  • I like the original version better.... Noel Harrison

  • really great!

  • Think Sting does a great job with this tune...very mellow. If you're into jazz, try the versions by Dianne Reeve ( both recorded and live) and Abby Lincoln.

  • Yeah, best version (which is more than can be said for the remake of the film!)

  • This song brilliantly captures the inherent weakness in Sting's voice.

  • Yes is definitely great as the jazz feel works so well with this song, though Barbra's version on her new CD is wonderful. So if they do sing together as rumour suggests, lets hope they do this or something else equally sultry and jazzy. Never thought I would get to like Sting after remember him screaming in the Police when her first began, but hasn't her just mellowed nicely!!

  • Call it as you wish .... it is what it makes you feel. I listen, i feel, and that's enough.

  • Sorry but i think this is Muzak..............

  • No one can beat Dusty!

  • It's Rock NRoll version ,very nice

  • this is nice but Torme is smoother

  • elevator music......classic sting stick to noel harrison

  • i don't know i like the muppets version

  • @barneynedward Ha... me too.

  • egyszerű és nagyszerű...

  • Lovely

  • how this should have been inceptions theme

  • Then you still have to hear Melissa Errico's version...recorded WITH Michel Legrand back in 2005, but not yet released...It's the best one.

  • this is the best version of this song ..heard it after watching The Thomas Crown affair right at the end when the creidts are rolling . i was truly impressed . had watched the movie so many years ago but never knew there was such song

  • Best song!

  • very good version i think. but i suggest you to listen jose feliciano's version.

  • Nah not sure about this. Dont dislike it but it isn't getting a thumbs up

  • i agree

  • good version, but i prefer alison moyets

  • excellent version! well done Sting!

  • I adore Sting......but this version SUCKS!

  • K.Oda likes this song. It's awesome.

  • B y far the worst version of this beautiful piece of music. Sting needs putting down.

  • This song loses something being done so slowly....

  • Terrible, gay elevator music.

  • i like it because it gives it a jazzy flavor. It's the best version for me@!

  • There is no such thing as the BEST version.. the version you like most.... that's the "BEST" version..

  • TERRIBLE VERSION, THE BEST VERSION BY FAR IS JIMMIE ROGERS.

  • this is the worst version by far.

  • Don't think the music fits at all...Dusty's version far outsrips for me. I don't mind Sing, but the music just makes this seem silly in my opinion.

  • oh i love Sting ...sexy voice ,.sexy body...would love to make love with him with this background song of him

  • no doubt about it....best version among of it..and the movie too =)

  • this song is very very sloooow!!!!!

  • Yes, dusty gave it a female vulnerability that made is so existentially sweet and pure.

    Such a great song!

  • i've listened to , i think, every other version by other artists that can be found on youtube and i must say, this is by far the only one that is needed. its not just his voice and which words he emphasizes, but the music if the most fitting as well. in my opinion, its the end-all, be-all, of this song… kudos Sting

  • I fucking love this version. its so easy to listen to. and he suits the lyrics so well. he has that tone to his voice that just makes me wanna melt.

    h8rz guna h8.

  • @sarahirene91 did you have to curse? have some respect.

  • @affansonicfan well, i dooooo fucking love this version. *shrugs*

  • @affansonicfan "i fucking love this version" is showing respect… stop being prejudice against words… there is no "bad words" … they are only a vehicle for thought and the thought behind the phrase you so despised was that this is a great version of this song… just easier and quicker to write the way sarahirene91 wrote it… and i think "I fucking love this version" is a great compliment to Sting.

  • @sarahirene91 I fucking love it too!!! i mean just totally fucking love this fucking version of this fucking song; fuck its good… i mean, just fucking awesome…. fuck

  • @BLYX1313 hahaha YES!

  • I became a fan of this song after seeing "The Thomas Crown Affair (the original)." Being a gaming geek, I adopted it as a theme for a WoD Mage character. Each version of the song represented the different periods of time in the character's life. I'm looking for a more modern version now....

  • Sting -I love you, but you ruined the song for me. As if Rod McKuen just sang or talked Windmills combined with the cake out in the rain at McArthur Park.

Rats....I thought this was going to be good.

  • terrible! Why dos sting insist on thinking he can sing/do anything?

  • Streisand's version is on yourtube now. I have always loved this song. Barbra's version is a tour de force, a masterpiece.

  • Nice, but this song is too "theatrical" for this easy listening version. Streisand is currently recording this and she is a master at singing LeGrand's music.

  • i love how it goes in circles like the windmills it talks about.

  • Tasty and excellent version.. beautiful harmony.

  • === ooo ===

  • the best version in my opinion :-)

  • @cben090 yeah :)

  • yess

  • @cben090 ...you are a relative no less.

  • they turned it into elevator music

  • horrible version. corrupted the song : /

  • Great updated version to go with an updated version of the original.

  • eee ooohhh ho

  • This song is a spiral itself. I get addicted to it, periodically, every year. Now I'm in it.

  • Travesty Gordon!

  • Great version! My favorite is by "Vanilla Fudge". I love the chaotic and powerful sound they give to it.

  • there's no accounting for taste...Noel Harrison from the original TC Affair as well as Sting's from the second TC Affair top my list...there is a surreal haunting quality to this song that they both capture in their own way which does not seem to come through in JF's version...

  • Jose was the only one that brought both passion and urgency without orchestration. He held it down - on his own - like a man. Wanna ride down the expressway, listen to Sting. Wanna drink, Jose is waiting..........

  • Noel's version is better =/

  • Killed it sounds like a wierd porno

  • Nasty version. Not nice at all.

  • i like the one by parenthetical girls better but this one is still very good

  • For you only !!!

  • Original By Noel Harrison Is Amazing. this is alright but nothing compared to the original

  • original is so much better...just my tuppence worth....thanks for posting:)

  • Methinks the best version is the original closely followed by Dusty's version, Sting does put his own stint on it, but the tone doesn't reflect the lyrics...

  • ADORO ESTA CANCION, ME MATA LA VOZ DE STING,ME TRANSPORTA A MOMENTOS ÚNICOS,I LOVE THIS SONG.....

  • Comment removed

  • all i can think of is how much the backin tune sounds like porn music

  • @Frostopolis

wow.. so you know that music?. I don't (need to)... :D

  • The lyrics are the thoughts of a tormented man, in turmoil after a relationship has ended, so why does he sing it as though he's trying to get the relationship started?Sting's a great vocalist, but he really lost the plot with this one.

  • Windmills of YOU mind???

  • This really sucks. It's the worst version I've ever heard of this song.

  • @bornagainbiebian WTF Really?? I am bashing your taste or nothing but think this version destroys all versions.

  • Love it (As a Sting/Police fan would)! but can't help but notice Mark (Kipper) in it's production all the way through, am I right or am I insane?

  • Why does he have to put on a poor american accent..

He doesn't sound cool just stupid.

  • very very very good

  • One of Sting's best ever. A good song made great...

  • God bless you Sting... You are a Prophet and I joined your religion long time ago...

Love and Peace from Tehran, Iran and San Diego, CA

  • Stings voice leaves me feeling like I just had a great massage.

  • @katihannah Talk about "windmills of YOUR mind"...

  • I cant really say if that is the best version, but that mans voice always ''travels'' me away

  • I still think Dusty's version is the best. I always felt the original from the movie was sung too fast-and as much as I like Sting this is not a good melody or composition for him-at least not this arrangement. Allison Moyet's version is also very beautiful. Its interesting how many other singers use Dusty's vocal arrangement, often with wildly different musical styles.

  • I think the best version is the Muppets' :D

  • my favorite version

  • And I felt nothing to noel harrisons version. He sang too fastfor my taste but that's the beauty of perception; nothing wrong with that....sting luv ur version sexy sensual as hell; beautiful beautiful beautiful!

  • This is not a patch on Noel Harrisons version. I feel nothing listening to this.

  • He's The Man.... Keep it up Sting....!!!!

  • There is also a Dutch version of this song. which is song by "Herman van Veen" It has got different lyrics though. I find it hard to choose who has got the best version, but I guess its very personal which one you like the best. Anyways <3 Sting, he's a genius

  • falling asleep yawnnnnnn

  • not bad this.... but I prefeer the Dusty Springfield and the Jose Feliciano versions...

  • eurk worst version of all.. cheesy!

  • Do like Sting but.... Dusty's version is so much better !

  • really like stings version of windmills, he has such a soft tone voice, heard this song on the thomas crown affair film goood film

  • muy buena la verdad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love the music, love sting, always fantastic!

  • Richard Harris................................

  • i THINK THEY MEANT 'your Mind/ but dem be muspellin' dat

  • the tempo is way too fast

  • i like the muppet version better

  • Gotta love it!

  • This version is my favorite.

  • @zionah8 Me too

  • He has absolutely destroyed this classic.

  • @motney555

    i cann't agree. Sorry.

  • sting előadáságan jön át a legjobban!!!

  • lol! windmill of you mind

  • OMG ... this is sooo sensual. Sting mmm

  • Lovely....mellow.....Sting's voice is perfect for this. Beautifully arranged

  • This arrangment is so beautiful and understated.

I love that the simple string line doesn't come in until 3:06 when the song is practically over.

Like a door that keeps revolving in an half-forgotten dream...

  • Great soundtrack for a great movie!

  • Great version of this song.

Check out the take 6 version, it is very nice aswell.

  • Your lyrics are filled with misspellings.

  • strava !!!

  • Michel Legrand composition!!!!

  • Haha ! Hihi !

Låtskrivaren måste ha tänkt på hennes tuttar !

    Hihi! Haha !

The songwriter must have been thinking

    of her tits !

    Haha !Hehe ! Hihi !

Was it something that you said ???

    Nick

  • Beautiful jazzy.. has a stevie wonder vibe to me..

  • A great version of a great song, but Noel Harrison takes some beating...

  • I love Sting, but Swing Out Sister's version of this beautiful song has the edge..

  • I love every version of this song but the I do love the most is Dusty Springfield, she had a great feeling for the words and gave it that special meaning

  • @zinger52 I agree!!

  • @zinger52 May I suggest Yesterday when I was young? Both Springfield and Aznavour are of my favorites.

  • @zinger52 dusty's is a good version but think it sound much better with a male voice

  • @zinger52 I agree, Dusty sings it best!

  • @zinger52 But why don't you put that on the Dusty video, rather then the Sting one?

  • @thekkl gosh, an oversight on my behalf we must be politically correct these days, I'm going to Dusty to even things up Dusty good Sting Bad Dusty good Sting bad

  • @zinger52 - I could not agree more!!

  • I love this version. Sting has a classic voice. No faking Wonder...You sing it than, and see us laugh at you as your trying not to be fake. LOL

  • I adore this song!!!!!!!!! good for thinking in silence!

  • not by chance it's title is "windmills of my mind" - a musical meditation piece :)

  • i search the lyrics........but i know this song with Johnny Mattis....is much better

  • I've never heard such a faker - this guy wins the award every time . in every breath he takes , of being the absolute Napoleon of fake emotion... J.Winston Lennon & R. Nestor Marley must be turning in their graves !!

  • fucking dreadful version

  • i think this is the perfect version of this song!

    Sting did a great job!

  • I agree with you I love jose feliciano's version of this song, but if you want to hear another good one look for Take 6's version, it is soooooooooo good, and the arrangement is amazing!

  • he's a great voice and a great artist but some part of this arrangments seems to me to be little bit "plastic" and in part without "soul"... sorry but in this song Dusty Springfield and Jose Feliciano give us a more intense and soulful version of this great classic.

  • This is good sex music.

  • I agree this version misses the point about the lyrics. It's internal psychological struggle not something to play over dinner.

  • @jwilkinson hey listen to p.clark

    version

  • I like it, but it's a little bit too upbeat. The original was the saddest, most thought-provoking song I've ever heard (it even inspired me to write my newest novel!).

  • i love this version !^^

  • Your like a Burrito Supreme at McDonalds. You just don;t get it...haha Love It. This version of the song is very Sexy. hugs everyone :)

  • Nice version.

  • I love Sting and love his voice, but I think this version of the song is a BORING mess. It misses the whole point, and neuters the psycho intensity of the lyrics. Listen to Dusty S or Jose F and you get the whole story in all its haunting, scary glory. This arrangement is bad elevator music.

  • You're like an eggroll in Burgerking... You Just Don't Get It!!!
