in 2nd or 3rd gear then cat deere komatsu or any other company that builds equipment would not put those gears on that machine and as far as an undercarrage goes the D6R or D6T undercarrage only have an average life of 4200 hours and anything over 4300 hours on that undercarrage is on borrowed time
it looks to me like they are doing lyme stabilation and if it is that would be why the machine is so dirty that stuff sticks to anything and is a pain to get off and as far as running fast he looks like he is running 2nd gear only which is what these machines are ment to run in 1st gear is ment for heavy cuts or under a heavy load 2nd is used to just push light loads like a semi in this vidieo or clean up and 3rd is for travel but not on hard ground and if the machine was not designed to run
Looks like that operator is just playing and not working. Must be his first day on job! Dirty equipment= poor quality work= cluttered jobsite.......nuff said. Would fire superintendent on this job AND operator. I agree with matavan99!
those 6's are faast. I saw one last summer and was thinking maaan thats alot of dozer for a little blade (I run 8s all day). But i definately can't maneuver like that guy does
well considering it appears to be the only vehicle there with gps, it may be going faster than i can remember seeing bulldozers moving for a reason... perhaps testing?? not sure...
i have run a dozer all of my life, easy to see that this tractor backs up more than it goes forward. always a dead giveaway. they are made to push, not drag you blade in reverse.
Talk about a lazy operator, cleans window just barely enough to see out of. Not safe at all. He also runs in 2nd gear all day, hate to be that torque converter!
@markdmy the reason you dont run in 2nd or 2.5 is because its harder on your undercarriage. If you listen to the video all you hear is the tracks. You must be an operator not a owner. You only use those gears once some of the load is taken off in your push and your trying to loose the dirt. With your way of thinking why not run in 3rd its faster and who cares about the excessive wear!
@jtyler4570 Why would they make a machine that fast if it cant stand up to it you donkey ass. The 6Rs were never that fast so obviously they did it for a reason, and more than likely compensated for it. You say buddy must be an operator, you must be a saftey guy or pencil pusher, absolutely no clue how the machine works, just your unwanted no minded opinion. As a mechanic i work on these cats daily and 2nd gear is fine im yet to replace an undercarriage under 4000hrs some have gone 6000

You dont lime stabilize select fill dummass! He's drying the dirt! $350,000 machine the operator is clearly not paying for.

god damn that guy drives fast, I guess he doesn't own it (obviously) if one of my operators drove my equipment like that he'd be fired.
